It is what it is. Cheap sushi and hibachi. Shrimp hibachi has quantity tasty shrimp that even my parents like and the krabby tuna roll is a good treat that won't give you food poisoning. Pensacola St. location is sticky. Literally the whole place.
Quick sushi!. Great place to go and get quick good sushi! the chicken hibachi is probably my favorite thing on the menu though!!!
Delicious. The sushi isn't that great. But if you like chinese food...you know, orange chicken, general tso's etc, then this is a great place to get it. The chicken is REAL chicken...not the dark meat concoctions found at most chinese places, and the tofu is excellent. You'll pay the same price at any chinese restaurant so you might as well come here to get a quality meal.
Mr Roboto never disappoints. I am usually very skeptical of restaurants near campus, but this place is a gem. The sushi is great, and the hibachi options are really nice as well. The sushi is much better than the stuff you find at Publix or Fresh Market, and it is cheaper! The staff is always really nice, and the YumYum sauce is amazing!
Roboto's- great variety of popular Japanese cuisine. Always been a big fan of japanese food. Roboto's offer a large variety of different food ranging from Edamame to Hibachi steak, and everything in between. I have been here often enough to try a number of foods on their menu. I typically like to stick with the Hibachi steak since it comes with a ton of food, but sometimes I'll stray away and get some of the spicy tuna rolls or samurai chicken.
Just dont get it.... Not sure why everybody loves this place so much... Its somewhat expensive for a college place and its small and often super crowded. Its just chicken/steak, rice, and sushi.
Liked it..quick and easy to eat
Mr. Roboto. I've been pleased with all the sushi I've had here, but I can't speak for much else on the menu. Quick and cheap. Friendly staff.
Well, I'm a fan. I like Roboto's. When I have friends come to town, this is one of the places I'll take them. You can't go wrong putting the yum yum or spicy yum yum sauce on pretty much anything. Prices are fine, service is quick, and food is good. I always get the chicken hibachi with fried rice and salad. It's a perfectly sized portion. With the miso dressing, the salad is so easy to enjoy.
Not high class sushi, but you get what you pay for.. This is a bargain restaurant, which is reflected in the quality of the sushi. Nevertheless, the food is delicious and reasonably priced. The hibachi meals are decent. Sauce bar has great sauces and salad dressing. The miso dressing is my favorite. The salads are iceberg lettuce, but the miso dressing makes up for that. Decent food, decent prices.
Cheap hibachi. I thought the sushi was dry and so-so overall, but I did like the hibachi selections. If you're looking for cheap hibachi that is pretty good I would recommend checking it out.
Its fast food and college fare. Hahahahhahaha.
Okay, if you're a pretentious foodie, than Mr. Roboto's is not for you. This is not a gourmet sushi extravaganza. It's really good food for the cheap price you pay and the extreme speed in which you are served.
That's why this place is really packed all the time. If you want to have a nice night, go to Masa or Lucy Ho's for Christ's sake.
Thai Red Curry. I only get the same thing, Red curry - it is better than any of the fancier restaurants in town. Always heaped with fresh veggies and perfect heat (spiced as ordered.) Quick service and clean restaurant.
Simply fantastic. Not only if it fast and friendly, but the food is just magnificent. Yum yum sauce makes the meal. People can't seem to get enough of it.
Great food for a great price. Good customer service. What more can you ask for? Amazing yum yum sauce and teriyaki.
Must eat place in Tally. This is one of the places you have to go to in Tally for good tasting hibachi and sushi thats also easy on the wallet. My favorite dish is the Samurai chicken with extra sauce and no salad. You'll definitely have leftovers!
Don't get the hate.. I love Roboto's, and I've had a bunch of different things off their menu. Chicken hibachi, red curry, and their spicy tuna rolls remain my favorite. Add in some yum yum sauce, and I'm good to go!
Pretty okay. Ended up here to grab some quick sushi before heading out for an evening's worth of fun. For sushi prepared in a super fast casual environment, it was actually pretty good. Not anything to really write home about, but tasty enough. I got the eel roll and the spicy tuna roll, and the taste and freshness of both were good. The only problem I really had was the fact that the spicy tuna roll was much less spicy than I had hoped for. Overall, not super amazing, but not bad, either.
I love a good Sushi bowl!
Not bad. But #1?. It is a bit weird that this place is #1 in Tally. I wouldn't call the food incredible, but I guess it's the fact that they have two locations, one close to campus, the other close to Heritage Grove and all the student apartments on Pensacola street. And the fact that they serve beer, have a funky sauce bar, and serve both sushi and habachi dishes (for those who don't eat seafood), among other things. So all in all that's not a bad set up. It's slightly pricey for college grub, but that's because it's consistently good quality and fills you up. In fact I've never left without a to-go box. I have been back many times and enjoy it when I go.
I just got a job here :). I'm excited to start my first day here at Mr. Robotos. It's a swell place with some really delicious food. In comparison to a chinese restaurant I used to work for, their orange chicken is no where near the unreal taste and quality of Mr. Roboto's orange chicken. Despite the real orange taste in their dish, their "Yum Yum" sauce is "To die for!"
Love robotos. Fast and cheap sushi.
Favorite inexpensive sushi. If you're craving quick, cheap sushi this is the place for you. Mr. Roboto's far surpassing publix sushi or sushi from Sumo Sabi (which I believe is equivalent to publix). If you're not into sushi they have big hibachi portions, which generally ends up being enough for two meals (be sure to grab a take home box!). I have never had any issue at Mr. Roboto and it's my favorite place to get a swift lunch or just to fulfill my sushi cravings.
Greasy goodness!. Great place to grab fastfood hibachi! The chicken isn't the best quality, but if you get it fried it's perfect! My husband loves the fried shrimp as well. The sauce selection is the best anyone has to offer. Just be prepared to have to wait a few minutes (maybe even up to 15) since everything is made to order. Oh and don't be discouraged by the sad side salad. You need to eat your greens! I just wish the side salad was a little bit more exciting.
Ain't the best but then again if you have high expectations for an Asian fast-food place you must wipe your ass with golden toilet paper. Beats the tar out of momos though
GOOD STUDENT FOOD. It's fast, it's pretty good, it's not really Sushi but close enough, if one understands this. Every roll I've had has been good and I've returned to this place more than once.
Absolutly Amazing!. Been to almost every japanese joint there is. and yeah...osaka's, mori's and sakura has nice presentation and pretty good sushi, but u are also paying an arm and a leg for it. I've had sushi all over the world and the states (hong kong, korea, san francisco, japan, new york, orlando everywhere) all over town in tallahasse, and yes it is true, it's not the most amazing sushi rolls ever, but hey u know what for under 10 bucks, I get decent food. I'm a big food aficionado, and i reccomend roboto's. In the sushi list Avalanche roll, hurricane roll, spicy ocotopus roll, and the salmon kobachi bowl are my definite favs. I will always and forever be a roboto fan. Got a friend that works there and still eats there all the time and even she said "it's definitely the cleanest restaurant i've ever worked at even behind the doors"
another thing is in the cooked items if ur looking for something heavy samarai chicken/shrimp will hit the perfect spot, if not mongolian beed/chicken/tofu is magnificent and to die for.
and remember those of your that may not like it because its not over the top dining, well keep in mind it's consider a "fast-food" like joint catered towards low budget college students. IT's got an A++ for me.
Lots of bang for the buck. Yes, there are a lot of better sushi places in town, but in the recent sushi restaurant explosion, Mr. Roboto fills the "cheap diner" niche perfectly. I mean, the restaurant occupies what used to be Denny's! What else do you want? To carry that analogy a little further, if your ordered the Breakfast Slam and were upset that it fell short of the fresh spinach and feta omlet at Another Broken Egg, someone should politely remind you that you were at Denny's and to get over it. As long as you remember you just got out of there for less than $10 a person, you'll have a whimsical, tasty sauce-drenched, pseudo-Asianish dining experience.
Good for cheap sushi. The quality isn't gourmet by any means, but if you love sushi and live on a student budget then it's an excellent option
Amazing. This place cannot be beat for price, quality, and quantity of food. I wish the parking lot was bigger.
The Best!!!!. I only get to visit Tallahassee every so often through out the year to see my fiance, but when I do I HAVE to get Mr. Roboto's!!! They veggie options which is great and it's always pure greatness; General Tso's Tofu and the veggie sushi is the best ever!!! I can't seem to find it anywhere in my area and I find myself fiending for it when I go home...I wish there was a mr roboto's in greensboro, nc!
First impression. I went to Mr. Roboto for the first time the other day with one of my buddies who highly recommended it. I got the Hibachi chicken with noodles ($1 extra). The price was very very reasonable for the quality and portion you receive. My only gripe with the chicken was that it was a tad dry for my liking. I fixed that problem though by having tons of yum yum sauce (similar to shrimp sauce) and soy sauce as well.
Overall I really enjoyed my meal from Mr. Roboto. I can't wait to go back and try out a different item.
Cheap Japanese. Amazing food!
If you are getting an entree, ask for double rice and no salad (No extra $), and you get more rice and a LOT more meat.
Sushi is pretty dang good and cheap
Ate alone last night at Mr Roboto and really enjoyed it. The fried dumplings aren't bad- shaped like gyoza and tastes more similar to an egg roll- but perfect for someone who wants to fulfill their fried dumplings fix. Entrees are large and filling- I didn't see anyone choosing sushi so I decided to go with the Garlic Chicken from the kitchen instead. Quite a kick and plenty of leftovers- and everything was cooked perfectly. The staff were pleasant and while the place was small and stuffed with college students, it was as clean as one could expect and not overly loud. Prices were wonderfully reasonable; this could be the best cheap Asian food in town. I will definitely be back.
Hello Urbanspooners . Thanks for making us número UNO in tallahassee we could not have done it without your support! Please continue to leave reviews on urbanspoon so that we know how we are doing .. Thanks again!
Best nigiri I've had. Mr. Roboto on P-cola has the best tuna and salmon nigiri I've ever had. I bring friends here.
Great!. Awesome sushi and the samurai chicken is my favorite!
Delicious alternative to more expensive resturants such as kobe or mori

Love!. Definitely the best counter service hibachi in Tallahassee! The sauce bar is fun, and my usual (hibachi with noodles and a Cali Crunch roll) is about three meals worth! Only thing I could ask for is more sauce cups and brown rice.
Not enough sushi. You never get enough sushi, i always have to get 2 orders which gets expensive.
10 bucks for two rolls and delicious yum yum sauce? Yes, please!
Love it...but nothing like osaka!. This is a great inexpensive place to experience sushi near campus. I have always had accurate and friendly service along with terrific sushi. But, Osaka is the better deal. However, Osaka is more on the fine dinning side.
Good Hibachi without the price and time of a Japanese Steah House. First of all this is NOT the best place in Tallahassee, not sure where all the hype came from. On the other hand it is very good and very reasonably priced. The best way to describe it is a Japanese steakhouse without the flair. The food is above average, not great. The concept is a great idea though! For the price it's hard to beat.
Hibachi is only $7.95
Sushi rolls range from $4.95-$7.95
You can get 2 classics for $8.95 which is a pretty good deal.
The sushi looks like it was rolled by someone who has never made a sushi roll before, so I guess you sacrifice looks for quick service.
Real-Deal Thai food!. Despite the fact that Mr. Roboto is touted as a sushi/Korean BBQ restaurant, I do not think they do enough to push their Thai menu. Thai being my favorite type of cuisine, I have eaten in some of the best Thai restaurants -- how funny that a little hole-in-the-wall in Tallahassee, FL boasts some of the best chicken curry I've ever had! I have to be honest, I don't eat on-the-go type sushi so I cannot speak about the sushi menu, but the Thai menu is worth the trip to Mr. Roboto! We can't wait for their new location to open on Tennessee St.!
Amazing, authentic, affordable ..... The Thai food rocks. They are opening another on Tennessee Street soon. Check it out!
It's okay. Cute idea for the place but don't try the tofu -they cannot cook tofu worth a thing. Even after they re-made my order with chicken flavors were just bland...
I had a huge group of friends visit Tallahassee last weekend. I had to bring them here! They loved it and the service was great.
AMAZING!. Roboto's is so cheap and amazing! Everything is insanely delicious and for the price completely outdoes other more price restaurants in the area such as Masa. Also a good place to take out of town guests- especially college students- because of the funky graffiti on the walls and great (yet sometimes a little loud) music.
Been going there since it opened. Really good food. Panko chickens of the chain.
Great change of pace from the over priced pretentious sushi styled spots in Tallahassee! I had the Roboto roll and my wife had the Hibachi Salmond. We were both thoroughly pleasantly surprised with our dishes. The atomosphere is relaxed and even fun. The prices complete the trifecta. Tally's best value by far!!!
Very flavorful, inexpensive and classic japanese flavor with some twists. Cute atmosphere, authentic staff, decent variety is welcome in a town where some of the best sushi comes from Publix. Yummy.
Very cute place! The food is great, good service, and make sure you try the Yum-Yum sauce!

Mr. Roboto has received a considerable amount of buzz and is billed as Tallahassee's number one "cheap eats" restaurant. I was curious to see if it lived up to the hype, and pulled into the parking lot of the Pensacola Street location.
When I saw that Mr. Roboto was the #1 ranked Cheap Eats restaurant in Tallahassee on UrbanSpoon , I was a bit intrigued. I hadn't really heard much buzz around town about Mr. Roboto. But hubby and I decided that if it was #1 on the list, then we had to gi
So this was a spontaneous visit to Tallahassee and the original restaurant was not open. We wanted noodles and I just happened to google this place. We pulled up to an empty parking lot and no other customers inside.
The employee was knowledgeable, friendly, and personable. She knew the menu and what the sauce were and even allowed me to sample one before I ordered. I had the Mahi mahi in teriyaki sauce with noodles, and my son had the veggie with noodles add chicken with two spring rolls.
The atmosphere was laid back and clean. The table were clean and so was the condiment area. The seating area is plentiful and nicely decorated art on the walls. Seating is also available outside under a awning area that is well lit. The bathroom was well lit and clean with all needed items in stock. Our food came out fresh, hot, and delicious. It was so much food that we had some to take back on the 1.5 hour drive. This is our new go to spot for fresh, healthy, and delicious food in a laid back atmosphere.
Great place, the store is neat and the food tastes good. The price for the food portion size is reasonably good. The order also came in time and the staff are good. Would love to visit again this place. My favorite is the Red Thai curry with fried rice. I felt this store is somewhat better than the other two branches in the town.
Great food, nothing else you need to know! Doesn't look like a whole lot right now from the outside (I think they're working on that) but nice little place on the inside and the food was really, really good. My son, who is a student at FSU, recommended it and it did not disappoint!
Always consistent...always 5 stars...every single time... usually large portions and they didn't jack their prices up to unfair amounts like a lot of places....always blasting music inside with happy employees... apparently great management...I just ordered some orange chicken and it's almost 3 servings...highly recommended...20/20 visits are great every single time
Great food, plenty of it too! Nice staff and polite. Atmosphere? Really? Kind of a hole in the wall but the food is off the chain!
While waiting on my order I noticed how clean the environment was. The cashier's were nice and kitchen staff cooked my food to perfection. Thanks Roboto Tokyo Grill !
I get the same exact thing every single time & this location has neverrr disappointed me. (Chicken Hibachi w/ fried rice and veggies). The food, service & wait is always smooth for me. I used to eat from the Tennessee St. location regularly but they weren’t nearly as consistent as the Pensacola St location. This location is always worth the extra drive. I do wish the fried rice was a little more authentic (it’s kinda just rice). Nevertheless, pretty good value overall. Always my go to when I want something close to a “real meal” but fast..
Mood for sushi, pero unfortunately none was available, so tried the "Samurai" de shrimp. Excelente! Daughter was very happy with her Chicken Tofu Veggie Hibachi. Fresh and made to order, will visit again.
Affordable chicken or steak hibachi prepared in the kitchen not the "show style" you might be accustomed to. Taste great, fun place to take kids the paintings on the wall are super bright and very entertaining to look at. Staff members are friendly!
Staff and food are both great at this location! Honestly really fast too! From ordering to food it takes about 5-10 mins and very delicious every time!
Roboto hits a combination of quality, price, and speed that is unreal. The selection of sauces is also great and they are tasty. There should be more places like this in towns across the country. The fast-casual Hibachi offerings aren’t common enough and a delicious hole-in-the-Wall like Roboto Tokyo Grill proves that.
Tried the chicken hibachi with fried rice and veggies. I really enjoyed the plate. Would be better if the fried rice had little bits of veggies in it or eggs in my opinion
Friendly staff, clean, excellent food. I wish y'all would open one in Panama City, Fl.
