Stopped for dinner. It was one of the cleanest Shells restaurants we’ve been in. The waitress we had was great. Friendly and friendly to the children that were with us. We were promptly seated but the meal took a while to come. Two of our party had the lobster bisque and it was very thick. They wouldn’t order it again. The fisherman’s platter was good. Not outstanding. The fish was good. The scallops were bay scallops and bay scallops and not the sea scallops which I missed when ordering. The jambalaya was amazing. The shrimp was big and sausage was tasty. The salmon was very good as well. The smothered chicken sandwich was tasty. A good portion.

Delicious food and excellent service 😋 very clean, cute decor, down to the detailed specials and drawings on the walls. We ordered the clams that came in a wine, garlic, butter sauce. It was a bit on the salty side, but still delicious. I ordered the crab cakes with the steamed veggies, red potatoes, and fried shrimp. Crab cakes were good, sweet crab, and veggies inside. I think there may have been a bit of shell as I chewed on some very crunchy bits. The flavors were solid. I loved the veggies they came perfectly seasoned. The shrimp were also very delicious. My husband's seafood stew over rice came complete with fish, scallops, shrimp, clams in a tomato sauce. Looked and smelled heavenly. My daughter got the salmon dish that came with a crab cream sauce, over asparagus. She ate every last bite, and the dish looked very appetizing as well. Overall the experience was terrific. Our server was very polite, quick to help with anything we needed, and very friendly, I happily gave her a good tip as she deserved it for the service she provided. Thankful to the whole kitchen and staff at this location 😊 highly recommend.
Always delicious. One of a very few places whee there are more clams than potatoes in the chowder. Used to bribe our daughter with a quart of their chowder if she stayed home and babysat while the adults went out.
Friendly staff and still one of my favorites! The lobster bisque was a bit too salty and grainy but the Salmon Felix and Lobster Pasta were great. And oh, I ordered grilled shrimp on skewers on the side!
Absolutely the best! I was recommended the salmon under the specialty menu. It was a little pricey- but so so so worth it. The crab on to was so delicious and the salmon was moist and cooked just right. I didnt the steamed veggies and rice- perfect complement!!! The service was great too. Our server- she was soo sweet and on top of keeping drinks full.
It was out first time here at Shells, they did not disappoint, the food was amazing, the drinks were fantastic, this place great to eat with the family... We definitely will be back!!
Absolutely phenomenal! Large portion size. Extremely fresh fish. First picture is of the smoked fish appetizer. Nice Smokey flavor, comes with onion and pickle garnish, saltines and optional hot sauce. Next we had their famous clam chowder. The clans were sweet and fresh, every bite delicious. Mr. Had the Big Easy. Mahi with a bay scallops and shrimp topping in a zesty (not spicy) red sauce with grilled veggies and the Mandarin coleslaw. I had the salmon Felix, a succulent slab of salmon festooned with lump crab meat and roasted red peppers in a delicious lobster sauce with asparagus. We also had the happy hour margaritas, which surprisingly had a good amount of alcohol for a happy hour drink. It's has been about 15 years since I've eaten at shell's. Here's wishing they would reopen in Ocala. Great service from Danae, who although had many tables on a busy night provided superlative table service.
Great food, excellent service! Food was delivered hot and quickly. Jessica did great and the kids loved their shrimp pasta.
My grandparents brought me to Shells everytime I'd come from Alabama to visit. In Alabama, we are super close to the gulf of Mexico so I'm familiar with fresh to the table seafood. However, Shells blows them all away! The fried shrimp today takes me back to when I was a little girl and would come to Shells. The same amazing quality of fresh to the table shrimp battered in the best seasoned spices and breading and fried to perfection. Hands down the best fried shrimp in the south!
Amazing food! Enjoyed the shrimp and scallops pasta the sauce still tastes the same as when I was a kid. The building itself was nice the service was rather slow even though there was only one other table with people on it.
Awesome place to get your seafood fix! Everything from grilled fish to fancy pasta, we all loved everything we got! Fresh brewed ice tea, perfect key lime pie, $5 margaritas and most importantly, friendly service and great prices! Can easily eat for $25: drink, entree and dessert.
The food here was pretty good. I enjoyed but I had. I ordered black and mahi-mahi and it was very good. We also ordered crab dip appetizer which was okay. Good atmosphere the restaurant was not very busy. The service was pretty good. I would definitely come back here, I'd like to try some more dishes.

I am hoping the location is correct ... we flew in from Kansas and researched for Delicious Sea Food on Mother's Day.. We called several restaurants which were on the water to savour both the moment and the food, yet every restruant we called were not accepting walk in customers ... We called Shells which was more inner City of Tampa ... we called and asked if they were taking customers on a walk in or no reservation ... the reply was most certainly and told us to please come in ... we set Google to the location and arrived in a matter of a few minutes ... we walked in and stated that we had called and the representative was very happy that we made it and welcomed us to Shells .... We were seated immediately and then greeted by Taylor our waitress ... who was great ... she took our drink and appetizer order and thanked us both for coming in ... Taylor returned with our glass of perfectly chilled Mirassou Moscato, Crab Dip and Chips, and with a platter with Humongous Dozen Oysters on the Half Shell ... we enjoyed the atmosphere as it was quaint, clean and colorful as if the presentation was to show its own unique character of its history ... Taylor returned and we placed an order of Pasta Seafood Combination plate ... and my Wife and I decided that we would split the order ... Taylor returned in a short time and thoroughly enjoyed the main course with delicious Garlic Bread ... In conclusion the journey into Shells must have been either directed from above, or we were just the luckiest ever to have made our way into Shells ... everything was perfect ... Taylor who was our waitress was superior and kind, and really seemed to appreciate our being there to enjoy the cuisine ... thank you all for a great experience and we will surely recommend to our fellow Kansans who may make it to the Tampa area ...
We love Shells. Best seafood anywhere. From their Crab cake dinner to Jambalaya, Shells cannot ve beat for service, food and ambiance. I really Love their grouper sandwiches 😋

Thought this place was for old people, but I was very wrong. Great flavor and spices. I have to say one of the best pasta bowls I have had and I'm Italian. Sorry for a bad pic I had a little taste and could not stop. I got the shrimp Mezzo....
One of my favorite seafood restaurants i would have to say I have never been disappointed. Food always on point, great atmosphere, not to mention the courtesy of the staff...
