When I travel, I always seek out local pizza joints; Cappy's did not disappoint. The sauce is how I like it, more savory than sweet. I also judge pizzas by the crust, and their crust was absolutely incredible.

The restaurant itself is sort of a dive and laid back. I think adding a few flat screens would pay nice dividends for them b/c it would be perfect for watching sports. Servers were really cool and did a fantastic job. Be advised that it is cash or check only. If i lived in Tampa, this would be a mainstay for me.

Great NY Pizza. NY style pizza really is top notch. Cozy venue in an old bungalow. Feels authentic and eclectic. Wife "Sally" and I like the little "one bench" booth up front. Very private and romantic. Parking can be a bit of a challenge - pay close attention to the ever changing instructions on which surrounding businesses allow and don't allow Cappy's patrons to park in their lots. But it’s worth the little bit of effort. And remember to stop at the ATM. No credit or debit cards!

I just love this pizza and Greek salad with potato salad. I'm a regular. They do, however, mess up every single pick-up order I place so I just stay in house.

Yummy food! Great atmosphere!. Chicago style knocks your socks off! New York pizza taste so fresh and you can tell that everything is made ON LOCATION! Dough, sauce, even the greek salad dressing! Great big pizza and salads, no skimping. Great atmosphere, funky decor, great for family dinner or getting a group together over pizza and beer. Location is near all the action. I love Cappys, been going since they first opened on Howard.

The REAL DEAL!. This is, bar none, the best pizza anywhere. But, it's not Ci-Cis, so if you want fast food pizza, skip Cappy's. Plus, you get a lot of food for your money. The Calzone can easily feed two.

You can tell, Cappy's is the result of hard work, and great care by the owners.

Best Pizza in Tampa.. I've always had great food from this place. It's always absolutely perfect. The music is consistently good, and the menus are cool and interesting. They keep the hours reasonable so there's no business-lunchers yakking on their smart-phones, and no cranky employees that had to come in at 10am. This place does everything right. They don't waste time and money with debit and credit card systems... if you don't have $20 in cash on you, you should probably be arrested for vagrancy anyway.

Awesome Chicago Style Pizza!. If you like deep dish pizza, you owe it to yourself to order a large "Chicago Style Cappy". They also have a great selection of beers and the greek salad is excellent. The staff is a bunch of total "dudes" which gives the place a hip feel...

Great spot!!!. The Chicago style deep dish is spectacular, the crust/bread has something like cornmeal in it, it's been cooked perfectly every time, the ingredients are delicious and fresh, they have great craft beers (bottles), etc. I like eddie and sams better for NY style, but Cappy's is still great. No credit cards is kind of a PITA, and I really wish they did lunch!

The best plan–taught me by the friend who introduced me to Cappy’s–is to order and share a salad and a deep dish pizza. While you wait for the pizza, which takes a while because it’s prepared from scratch and deep dish pizzas take longer to cook, you eat

Ordering from an album cover menu was cute. Quaint, nostalgic and cozy describe the atmosphere. We were fortunate to dine there shortly after they opened. Chris was friendly and helpful.

This location is the original of the 5 Cappy’s in the area. It has a cool retro charm, easy going, family friendly atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating. Parking is tight but there is a parking lot across the street to accommodate overflow. The restaurant itself is a bit small so can feel crowded but we were a party of 8 and were seated within 10 minutes upon arrival at 6pm on a Friday. Server was super friendly and nice. Food came out pretty quickly and was delicious. This is a cash only establishment so be prepared if you’re dining in but there is an ATM onsite just in case.

Delicious Italian style pizza with good homemade sauce. The crust is just right, you have to give just a little pull to bite through it. Many choices for toppings, I’m sure you will find your favorite. Great eclectic home style dinning in or out. Family friendly, Cash only, atm on-site, weekends be prepared to wait 20-30 mins. Parking is tight but available at the business next door. Wheelchair comfortable.

The deep dish pizza here was phenomenal!! Great service. The restaurant is very small and parking is limited, but it's definitely worth ordering for take out! We dined in and had a great experience and are definitely coming back!

We went for the Chicago style pizza. As a very long time customer I was surprised to see that they cut down on all of the ingredients including the thickness of the crust. It still has great flavor but it’s like a diet version of what it was prior to Covid. The wait staff was friendly and nice. She had a good sense of humor too. I’m happy they’re still open and I would rather have this pizza than no Cappy’s. I will be back.

Traveling from Mississippi and my husband is Originally from Chicago. We don't have any true Chicago deep dish restaurants in Mississippi so whenever we travel it is usually the first thing we look for. That being said...... If you're a first timer here like we were tonight and you're questioning whether you should try it.... GO!!! I've been to Chicago with my husband visiting his hone and I've had deep dish at the top places and this was by far the BESTbIve had and my husband even agreed. The dough made it! We ordered a tossed salad, bread sticks (amazing), a New York style cheese and a veggie deep dish and I literally left hurting from eating so much. The customer service was equally wonderful and our waitress was a delight and super helpful. The ONLY con which I would never let this be why not to go is the parking is very limited and when I say the place fills up FAST on weekends. We walked in at 5:18, only 18 minutes after they opened and it was almost full. Once we ordered we watched as the line of order pick ups went out the door. It's worth the drive, the wait the limited parking and the miserable full filling once you leave. I don't care if we have to drive back here 9 hours just for the pizza.... we will in a heartbeat and we are planning on it!

The Chicago deep dish is equally as good if not better than Giordano's or Lou's. Their Greek salad and regular crust pies are also pretty outstanding.

Really enjoyed the pizza here - very quaint and unique spot that feels cozy and truly feels like a neighborhood spot. Service was pretty quick for two pizzas, including a deep dish. The New York style pizza is fantastic, dough and sauce are on point and pretty satisfying level of cheese. The deep dish was tasty as well, with the crust being at a perfect level for myself. I appreciated the fact they offered a small option for the deep dish as it can get hefty. Prices are fair considering the quality.

We had an amazing dinner at Cappy’s. After starting with the small Greek salad, we moved on to a medium Chicago pizza with sausage, green olives, and banana peppers. The salad was fresh and delicious, while the pizza was the best deep dish we’ve ever had outside of Chicago. The staff were super nice as well. Be aware that they only accept cash, although they do have an ATM in the building.

Cappys is among the best pizza I've ever had. The deep dish is legit! Don't sleep on this place. What it might lack in curb appeal, it makes up for with intense flavors in your pie!

A friend recently moved around the corner and picked up a pie. Both of us being from Jersey I don't do much pizza till I visit up north but I got back to Sarasota and was ranting about a pizza joint in Tampa. It's gotta be the ingredients! Pepperoni without heartburn😄. Real cheese's. I've been in Florida 24 year's and now finally found great pizza. Yesterday tried it again along with a greek salad. 55min ride back to Sarasota. Had a couple of slices before the skyway and believe me I can't drive 55😁. Thank"s Cappys Pizzeria👍👍👍😎

Cappy's is a South Tampa staple serving both thin and thick crust pizzas, calzones, and delish greek salad. The pizzas are a very generous size and usually very good.. The atmosphere is old hip, with menus printed on old 70's and 80's album covers, and a friendly staff. Beware! Cash only! (They have an ATM-with fees- in the restaurant.)

Small spot with excellent pizza and salads. We ordered 1/2 a Greek salad and the Sicilian Pizza both were excellent.
