My husband and I really love going out for sushi, and we've had a wide range of experiences between service and ingredient quality/freshness here in Tampa. Needless to say, Ebisu is our go-to favorite now!! Some of the best sushi we have had in Tampa; particularly fresh and quality ingredients. Their menu selection and range of sushi rolls is always fun; we try something new every time we've gone! We've found it's not the same typical run of the mill rolls you'll find most places, but a variety of fun new options/combinations that you may not have seen before. Service has always been timely and courteous. Definitely recommend it!

My daughter lives around the corner and we love sushi - so this was a natural for us. The restaurant was full tonite, both inside and out, and we were happy to find the staff handling it well and keeping the vibe welcoming. An extra server was added somewhere along the way as it was getting backed up, so they seemed to adjust well. Everything we ordered was excellent. The garlic and spicy edamame was a huge hit with us. All of the sushi was super fresh and presented beautifully. We always end with eel and this was some of the best ever. Recommend this place to anyone - we will be back regularly!

A couple sitting next to me ordered a huge plate of salmon sashimi. I asked them about it and they said it was the freshest tastiest salmon they'd ever had... I was curious so I added an order to my meal.... OMG unreal! I've had sushi all over the world and it ranked right up there with the most expensive restaurants. Super cute place, friendly, unique rolls (electric eye and dragon are amazing). Proud to welcome this place to my hood!

Stopped in here for a random Tuesday night dinner and was blown away at how delicious the food was. It was a nice night so we sat on the patio and the ambiance was perfect! We will definitely be back!

We went there on Saturday for my birthday and everything was great! The old bungalow has a nice chill atmosphere, we were greeted and seated right away, and the waiter was friendly. They have all types of sushi. We had a veggie roll w/mango and my favorite was the orange sunrise roll that has a thin slice of lemon on top, healthy and refreshing! Most sushi places in town seem to be filling their menus with deep fried cream cheese rolls (which they have as well, and I do like) but that tiny slice of lemon makes all the difference to me! They also went out of their way to make my birthday special. Affordable prices too. I'm glad this place is within walking distance!

Super cozy and comfortable little bungalow sushi place. The food is definitely satisfying, creative and pretty damn authentic for sushi in America :)

We were very excited about a sushi spot coming to the Heights and Ebisu didn't disappoint. We were nervous because we went on the second night they were open and had heard horror stories of 3 hour wait times so we arrived at 5:00 and were the only ones there! Parking is tight- just a few spots- but the restaurant is small. We didn't have beers because they've not gotten their license yet. We got an order of edamame which was basic and actually needed a lot more salt. Next, we ordered a TON of sushi... 9 or so rolls and each were spectacular! Everything was fresh and unique. The red dragon roll was one of our favorites. We will definitely be back and recommend to friends and neighbors. Hope the kinks on opening night have been worked out because we loved it!

I have lived in Seminole Heights for over 11 years. I always wished we had a sushi restaurant. Who could have guessed that we would get such a great one?? Large portions, creative menu, VERY competitive prices and an exceptional staff. Thanks for making our neighborhood better, Ebisu Sushi Shack. :)

My husband and I went on New Years Eve and had such a great meal. We eat a lot of sushi (or at least we used to before we had three kids!) and everything we ordered was fresh, delicious, and very reasonably priced. We did not have to wait for a table and service was great. So happy to have this in SH!

Love, love, love this sushi joint! So glad to have a sushi restaurant in the neighborhood. Ive been there more than once and everything I've had has been delicious! I've done both "eat in" and "take out" and I highly recommend it. Congrats Ebisu!

Surprisingly enough my nephew found this place and he doesn't live in Tampa. The food was excellent, and unbelievably delicious. Affordable even if you're on a tight budget

My manager and I ate there for lunch the first time this week. I must say it was EXCEPTIONAL! The flavors are authentic and unique. The inside very much reminded me of the places I ate at in Japan. I loved the ginger salad and their take on the crab Rangoon. I had the two roll lunch special. Excellent combinations and flavors! I highly recommend and will be going back many, many more times!

Amazing local sushi restaurant! Small inside, but we had no problem getting a table. The menu has a nice variety of classic sushi rolls and their own twist on new ones. Absolutely loved the super crunchy and Jabba the hut rolls as they had such tasty spicy tuna in them. Also highly recommend their green tea mochi ice cream afterwards. Definitely check this place out if you're in the area.

Seems to be the only sushi restaurant in the (Heights) area. Service is fast and quick. Went on a busy Friday night and felt we were attended to quickly. Sushi is always consistent and delicious. Only complaint is it was quite hot. I would recommend they work on having proper ventilation when it’s packed, that part was. It enjoyable.

Yippie! Another excellent sushi spot in Tampa to go along with Soho Sushi. If you want a fancy place with neon lighting accents and such, don't go here. But if you want really good sushi at very fair prices in a casual setting, then go here. And it's nice not to be overwhelmed by an over the top sushi menu. Isn't it frustrating when a place has soooo many specialty rolls that you can't remember what you might want without using a paper and pen and setting up a bracket system like March Madness ? Here you won't be overwhelmed and there are enough variables to choose from. Across the street from Ella's, another one of my favorites.

Food was amazing. It was packed all night and doesn't have that many tables so it took a while to have orders taken and get food, but the employees were all nice and accommodating. It's super cute and kitchy inside, we especially enjoyed the tiny old TV playing lone ranger - I haven't seen a TV like that in decades! We especially enjoyed the tuna appetizer and sake sangria.

Amazing sushi, wonderful service, and the appetizer was absolutely delicious. So much flavor, and the sushi was very fresh. Wasabi was extra spicy, the volcano roll was my favorite. The fish on top was so yummy. All the flavors were fantastic. Very wonderful small spot with beautiful sushi rolls.

Small neighborhood place. Not tons of seating so we usually go late so we don’t have to wait. Truly one of my fiancés favorite places and has enough cooked options (see the tempura chicken bowl) for non sushi lovers like me to enjoy their dinner. Service is usually top notch. The three rolls pictured are: salmon avocado (a classic and possibly my fiancés favorite), electric eye (the one with jalapeño), and purple haze (chicken in the roll, so I could pull the fish off the top and still have cooked food. Another win). I don’t love the star ranking system as it usually boils down to 5 or 1 star, but from -3 to +3 this is one of the few +3 places I would give

Personally, in my opinion, here is the most delicious sushi that I have tried in the Tampa Bay area. Great staff. You can sit inside and outside. Not big but very cozy place

June 2023: Now with additional seating! Don't let the road construction stop you, they're open with parking lot access! Such awesome fresh sushi! Can't wait to go back!! Excellent service by Don. Great safety protocols too! Update on 3/16: went back last Saturday and it was even better! Such good service and the freshest nigiri I've ever had. 7/10/2021: special yellowfin tuna cheek entree is excellent but can't resist the Swamp Monster! JB gets his usual mountain of sushi and a Jabba the Hut roll. By the way, they make the best Krab Rangoon in Tampa. Try it! Nothing like the others. 12/23/21 Okay last update just because I will never have anything bad to say. Been here probably a dozen times and every time they are excellent - every time. 4 of us for holiday sushi and we all loved everything and as usual Don was the best! Thanks for making our family dinner special.

A nice little spot with very limited parking. The food was not too bad but their sake sangria was delicious. We enjoyed 3 different sushi rolls, but do note if you are a cooked sushi person there are limited options here. The Crab Rangoon was fresh and tasted good. Service felt a bit rushed.

This is a very humble cozy place. The food has good quality and the presentation is definitely great. The server was pleasant and doing her best on a busy night. I loved that they have outside seating and allow dogs. I’m only giving 4 stars because out of 4 different specialty rolls, I didn’t really had a favorite. I will go again because I want to try more of their selection (I will give all the points to creativity, these are not your usual rolls) they have a Cheetos roll! Will be updating this review soon.

I have been wanting to come here for a long time and the wait was worth it! Some of the best sushi in town. Service was very good, prices were just right, and the food was fresh, and the presentation was great. If you sit at the bar you get a great view of the staff making the rolls and you can appreciate their great synchronicity.

Excellent! Super cute place! Excellent price for the fish quality. Highly recommend the florida roll, if youre into proper sushi because it honestly had more fish than the special rolls. Its clean, simple and the closest to the original Japanese sushi. Fish was excellent quality, small place so there might be a long wait.

The atmosphere was chill, staff were friendly and quick. The fried calamari was so well done and delicious I caught a tear on the corner of my eye. The Takoyaki were tiny balls of bliss. The Sushi was sublime. Fantastic place to eat. Definitely bringing the ol' ball and chain.

My boyfriend and I came right @5pm and it got busy fast! Makes sense because our meal was amazing! The electric eye roll was 10/10. The peppery edamame was amazing and so were the geso karaage (squid legs). All around, the fish was so yummy and fresh I was honestly so surprised since most little sushi places in tampa are kinda mid. This sushi shack however, was godly.

We love Ebisu!! It’s so great having the Sushi Shack right in the neighborhood. The food and service is great, and it has such a nostalgic vibe to it. We always go for the early-bird special, which is a buy-one-get-one-half-off deal on sushi rolls and beer (and other things, but we usually stick with this). They also always have specials from time to time that you normally wouldn’t find on the menu, including special rolls and other traditional Japanese dishes. We always, always get the Agedashi Tofu as an appetizer. During the winter months they have rolled out a more traditional, non-sushi menu, which was amazing (I hope they do it again)! If you’re looking for a no-frills neighborhood sushi joint, look no further.
