Road Trip!. I love this place!! I don't live in the area but I have to plan a weekend outing every so often so that I can get my fix of Mama's. The place isn't fancy but it has the very best most consistent and fresh food I have ever had and I am a very picky eater. The service is good as well if that makes a difference because I know for me that can be a deal breaker.
Working My Way Down The Menu. I finally decided to try Mama's Southern Soulfood restaurant. I was greeted by the owner who was serving out of a window. I asked for full service and he invited me to choose of about four booths. He pointed out the daily specials and handed me a menu. I chose to begin my journey down the menu with their rib and chicken combo plate. I chose collard greens for my side and an extra order of yellow saffron rice and chicken. I was not disappointment. My ribs were tender and the chicken was not over cooked but it fell off of the bone. I will be back to continue my trip down there menu.
Best oxtails, collie greens and corn fritters. The hours say breakfast, lunch and dinner, but it opens at 11 am. Worth the price and the wait.
