Indie brewery with a wide range of beers, from the extremes of a peanut butter stout to a heavily fruited sour. The sours stood out, with plenty of to-go options. Welcome to your own food. Probably not the vibe/atmosphere for everybody, but a solid spot in the Heights.
Had a great time and had some great beers. Rebecca was very kind and helpful! Highly recommend swinging by for a draft or getting something to go. Fantastic inside with high top tables and unique sitting areas. Has some board games if you want to hang for a while. Great stop!
First time visiting here with my boyfriend, and we absolutely loved this place. Max, the server, was so kind and helpful! He let us try samples before we decided what we wanted to drink. I am a sour girl and they have the best sours I’ve ever had in the south. Come to this brewery if you are into sours, you will truly not be disappointed!! We even bought a 4 pack of the Moon Flower to bring home. Will be back!!! :-)
Truly one of my favorite breweries. They have such an amazing selection of sours! And everyone I tried was amazing. The staff is super friendly. Both inside and outside seating. Bathroom super clean. You definitely want to make this one of your stops when you're in Tampa
If you go to Tampa and you love beer you must hit this beer mecca!
Their stouts are insane! Fluffle Wagon was easily the best beer at Barrel Aged Sout Fest for Kha's Birthday party in Sandusky. Strong competition and they crushed it. Here, it tasted amazing.
Chill atmosphere with tons of locals enjoying board games and great brews. Wish we had this in Columbus.
Love this place. So will you. Go, get a brew!
Nobody is doing the kinds of crazy and delicious brews that Hidden Springs keeps pulling off. Seriously - who would think to make a Berliner Weiss with flavor notes of coffee, vanilla, and cherry, all at the same time. Well, Hidden Springs thought of it, and it’s incredible.
Look, all the beer here is top-notch, but also the staff is super friendly, and it’s got a solid vibe going on in the taproom. But I really just think the masterminds behind the scenes are operating at another level: it’s the fine details, like the names of the beers (“Deja Moo” and “Shun the Nonbeliever,” for example); the can art (so good!); and the stuff they say in social media posts.
Just go drink beer from here.
The staff is very friendly and the beer is fantastic. They have a nice fairly open layout. We will definitely be coming back again soon. Fantastic selection of sours
AWESOME! Always enjoy stopping in for a cold beer. Lots of choices. Not sure what my favorite is however the bartenders always recommend great choices. I generally park across the street and use an app to pay for parking. Check it out and leave a review to help others.
Wow loved it. I knew their brews were good but the staff is so awesome. Friendly, helpful, and great spot full of board games, great drinks, and good seating. Will definitely be back.
Stopped by twice on a scorching hot day. Great brewery, sour beer specialty, guest brew collabs, cans & bottles for sale. Staff very attentive & helpful. Large table & comfy seating, family & dog friendly.
When I was in Tampa, Florida on a beer tour of the city in support of my beer blog, I made it a point to visit some of the best breweries the city has to offer. I also wanted to visit and experience a large number of places and the Brew Bus service helped make this possible. One of the places I visited as part of the brew bus was Hidden Springs Ale Works.
Hidden Springs Ale Works is, like its name indicates, a little bit hidden away and I could see how some guests may have a challenge finding it. I didn’t have this issue because the bus dropped us off right at the entrance and the moment I walked inside, I could see that Hidden Springs is an extremely low- key type of brewery and I felt right at home immediately.
The taproom at Hidden Springs Ale Works consists of long, communal style tables with artwork on the walls plus a refrigerator containing cans of beer to go. With the artwork, much of it is available as a print for a small price. Just go to the bar and let them know which work of art you like, have them add it to your tab, and the print is yours.
What matters most at any brewery is, of course, the beer and Hidden Springs Ale Works has about 20 taps of beer behind the bar with an assortment that includes IPA, pale ale, sours, stouts, and others. Some beers are more popular than others and they may run out of a few of them, so don’t be too disappointed if all 20 taps aren’t flowing when you arrive. Look behind the bar, above the taps, and you will see small, individual boards indicating which beers are available. They remove the small boards once a beer runs out so a quick glance and count of these boards will let you know how many kegs are tapped and flowing.
With so many choices, you may not be sure which beer you like but this is not a problem- just ask for a taster. The bartenders are more than happy to provide a quick taste for guests, before they commit to a full serving. I tried a few tasters myself and then went with a flight of four beers. I liked every beer I tried and I also liked the flight serving board, with the individual gears to hold each of the glasses. The design is more creative and eye- catching than the typical flight serving board.
Tampa, Florida is a beer city on the rise and Hidden Springs Ale Works is a place you want to visit. You can make the stop here as part of the Brew Bus service or pay a visit on your own. The quality brew, the artwork, the extremely laid back atmosphere, and the service are enough to make Hidden Springs Ale Works an experience you’re bound to enjoy.
Friendly bartender. Beer and as reasonably decent. They had a nice selection of different types of beer. There is on street free parking as well as a paid lot across the street.
The place was super clean, the server was amazing. The owner introduced himself and offer some beer tasting. Overall is a great place to chill with your friends...will be back!!!!
Best brewery we have found in Tampa. The sours are 10/10 and Tim was amazingly helpful and friendly. Can’t wait to come back!
A good brewery to check out that is on the outskirts of Armature Works complex and a 20 minute walk or so from Ybor. Since it's located a little distance away from these busy areas, it's more low key and relaxing.
The inside is clean and modern with some good beer to choose from. Their menu focuses on sours and lagers with some that can be really sweet, but tasty such as the Tigers Blood or Electric Pegasus. The 'Above My Paygrade' is a good easy to drink beer too.
Small tap room for high quality and unique local craft brewery. When I visited, I found very friendly and informative staff, good service and a very nice diverse clientele. The beer is quite good and there is a broad selection of styles to choose from, including collaborations from other breweries. The only thing that takes it out of a five star rating is a lack of food or even snacks.
They have packaged cans for take away, or will even do an individual can of any draft of your choosing.
You could drive by this place a dozen times without even noticing it is there, so use your Maps app to find it.
Enjoy; I know I did!
Pretty good stuff! They've definitely come a long way from when they started. They offer growlers and had some packaged beer to go. They do bottle releases but they have increased in popularity and can sell out within hours. Brew Bus picks up and drops off here so you can add it as a stop!
Love Hidden Springs! Amazing assortment of craft beers including sours, IPAs, etc. Enjoyed everything we had. Can't wait to go back 🍻
Bit of a underrated hit on our Tampa brewery tour, Hidden Springs had a very nice taproom combined with quite an exhaustive beer list, with sours being the star in my eyes. Lots of games on the tables to pass your time, easy area to park and access. Barstaff was very friendly and made the visit pleasant.
Definitely some of the best beer in the Tampa area, worth a visit for the product and atmosphere.
