Alley Cantina - Taos - Photo album

I tend to stop here whenever in Taos. Not only a historical place but the food is great. While it can get busy I have never had a problem getting a seat. Restaurant has a full bar. Staff has always been friendly. It's not a super fancy place but it's definitely relaxing.
First time eating at The Alley Cantina. I liked the overall mood and energy this place puts out. The food is actually really decent and is not the same old chain restaurant food from town to town. The waitresses and the host were all super cool, and we will now have a go-to spot whenever we're in Ta
It’s in an alley just behind the Taos Plaza. It’s a pretty casual place with a bar and pool table that seems to favor the locals. The service was great and friendly and the food was awesome. At least the New Mexican dishes. Had the pork chile and chicken tortilla soup. Spicy but flavorful. Check’em
My wife and our dog were on an RV trip and staying in Red River. On an outing We wound up in Taos. We did some sight seeing and shopping. Of course we kept an eye out for a pet friendly restaurant. we peeked in and saw that had a courtyard, so my wife asked if dogs were allowed and they happily said
Great place for a drink. Had the Sagre Sangria with Pinot Grigio which was very good. All of the drinks were refresh and exactly what we needed after a day if sightseeing.
Two of the best enchiladas I’ve ever had. Chicken and pork, just sublime with blue corn tortillas.
The chicken tortilla soup is a must if you eat here. It has so many ingredients and just the right amount of spice. I got the bowl and it came with a soft tortilla. It was just the right amount for a satisfying lunch.
We came for happy hour on a Monday and had a great time out on the patio! Food is delicious and drinks cheap and decently strong. The tortilla soup is super spicy! Would definitely come back next time I'm in Taos.
After being rejected for not having a reservation at Doc Martin's, we went across the street and found this place (after checking out Trip Advisor). Looked deserted from the outside, but when we stepped in, we found it hopping. Live music during dinner isn't our thing, but this was Sunday, Jazz Ni
Great lunch spot. The Famous Fish and Chips are really great. Four super crispy and delicious fish pieces and plenty of shoestring fries. Good vibe and music!
Such a cool place with great food. No rice which was surprising, but hominy seems to be more relevant to the area anyway. The building itself is very cool, many rooms to hang out in and a great bar area under a skylight. Open late, pool table, table shuffleboard, seems like a great hangout.
What a great find on Google Maps. This was a great little gem with its entrance hidden in an alley. The licals here seem to love this place. I know why now. They have great authentic New Mexico entrees. The place was really busy but the staff keep up well. The building is in a traditional New Mexico
We were glad to discover this no frills bar in Taos. We wanted casual, simple and a true bar feel with locals. The Alley Cantina was exactly that. Food was your standard bar/pub food which is expected. Staff was welcoming and friendly. Really loved the skylight and plants overhead.
Awesome experience! Spicy, tasty chicken tortilla soup! And the fish and chips really are as delicious as they say. The tartar sauce was fantastic. Great time, we highly recommend!
Great vegetarian green chili! The margaritas were fabulous as well. Definitely worth a stop especially if you can sit on the patio.
An all time favorite for our family. Food is great northern new Mexican style pub food. Not fine dining per say but hits the spot. The nachos are good, beer battered mushrooms, coconut chicken tenders, and the enchiladas are pretty yum. Margaritas are fire and leave you feeling good. If you're lucky
The food was delicious and the service was great. I can see why they have so many great reviews. They have a full bar with great drinks. A pool table and other games. Good drink specials and a good range of food. Will definitely be back when we are in Taos.
Update: 11/1/2021 - Just came back for a second time. Definitely out favorite place in Taos. The Alley Cantina is our new favorite place to eat and drink in Taos, NM. The Fish and Chips are awesome...lightly battered, thick, juicy fish, with fresh homemade tartar sauce. My wife had Chili Releno for
Timeless spot. Dripping with authenticity. Perfect southwestern cuisine, no pretensions. Friendly servers. Delicious margaritas. Kind to children but also open until 1am. Shuffleboard and pool. Taos historic district. Can’t recommend enough! Enjoy!
