Good New Mexican food, always busy! Not a great place if you ate in a hurry.
Today's special was fried chicken and my friend ordered her favorite stuffed sopapilla.
Food was delicious, and service Was ok. It could have been better, she gave us cold fried bread! The food my husband had was good; so was mine.
This was the best .
I had 2 enchiladas and 1taco combo plate.
Outstanding.

Other people's opinions were negative, complaining about the wait. We were seated and served very fast. Food was good, well worth the money.

We love El Taoseño! It’s one of my go-to restaurants as a local. Excellent COVID-19 practices. Excellent, sweet waitstaff. ❤️
This is the locals diner. They offer a large menu and have fantastic red and green sauce. If you want a quick meal, excellent prices, and large menu options this is the place. I usually have breakfast here and my go to are the smothered hash browns Christmas. ( that's half red, half green chile sauce for those who don't know). Portion is large enough to share.

My review is based on my experience from 2017. They were able to accommodate my entire family at the last minute. (about 20 people) There was an issue with a lack of chips because they were making a fresh batch. My dad was rude and made a scene. It was awkward. Then the fresh chips arrived. I'm sure the waitress still remembers us. Overall it was a good experience with good food and I recommend this restaurant.

Visited here with my family of 11 from California. We came all the way to eat the way my grandma used to cook when she loved here in taos. Let me tell you, it was everything I had remembered. Great food, good atmosphere and nice people. Would eat here everyday if I could, but sadly we had to go back home.

All in all I loved the food and the service. The food came out within a few minutes of us ordering. We both had the combination plate. I enjoyed it. They should probably play some music and fix the lighting a little bit other than that I have no complaints and will definitely be back next time.
Oh! They also have 4 7oz beers for $5! 🍻
Enjoyed my stop here. I had the smothered burger Xmas.. Both red n green were delicious. House fries were tasty too. The waitress was very friendly and I will definitely stop here again..
