The food here tastes very authentic. They have great tortillas. First Genuine tortilla I have eaten in New Mexico. The rice is great, fajita is flavorful l, and beans are great. The only downside is that they serve you with to go plates and silverware but we still had the opportunity to eat inside the restaurant.

Worth the stop! Good corn to filling ratio. Had “Tamales de Dulce” which I’ve never seen before and was excited about - and it was good!

WE LOVE TAMALES! We ordered a dozen hot tamales to go when we were passing through Taos in an RV trip. Parked nearby and ate some right away. Oh they were so good that we walked back over and ordered a dozen cold to take with us on the road. We had red and green and coming from a family that tries tamale’s wherever we travel we rate these exceptional! Price was comparable to quality and quantity.

We come here whenever we’re in Taos, the food never disappoints, breakfast burrito is my favorite, the huevos rancheros are delicious and the tamales plate, highly recommended this restaurant.

I buy their breakfast burritos here. Every Wednesday my boss and I get the sausage with green chili, not always from here because we like to explore. However when I do go here I am never disappointed, the price is in line with everyone else, they don't oversalt like some other places and they fill the burrito with a lot of filling.

This is a real gem. The woman that waited on us was great. The food was excellent. The prices were surprisingly good, as Taos restaurants are known to be a bit on the high side. I was truly impressed by the amount of food I got for the price. They have decent parking, which is also rather unusual for Taos.

We were visiting Taos New Mexico from Georgia and stopped in to grab some tamales to go. The tamales were very good and also purchase a breakfast burrito which is also very good.

Very good tamales in a variety (3) of flavors. All varieties were good - it's all a matter of style. In honesty I haven't tried their food off the menu. Yet each time I've been there it has been crowded. It is worth checking out.

The fact they're still doing carry out dishes only bugs me, it would be great to sit down with a plate and enjoy a meal without plasticware. Still fantastic grub.

Hands down, Leonel’s Navajo Taco with lamb is THE BEST meal in Taos! And that says a lot— Taos has some competition in the restaurant industry. Don’t leave Taos without putting in an order!

Memorably great red pork and chicken tamales! They make top-notch tamales that are the real deal. Buy more tamales than you think you'll need. You will likely want to have them for several meals! The red pork ones are great with eggs for breakfast. The service was friendly and quick. UPDATE ONE YEAR LATER: Leonel's is consistent. This time, we also tried the breakfast burrito, which was really, really tasty. One of the better ones in Taos, particularly the tortilla itself, which was superb. Service was very friendly and welcoming.
