If you want something new, fun, interesting, and weird, this is the place to be. Strange twists on common favorites, and the choices don't always work! If you are looking for the flavors that you know this is not the place for you. But if you're like me and enjoy trying something new, this will be a fun place even if you end up ordering a dish you don't like. However, I would caution anyone against ordering the pad thai! It was strangely sour. The side salad however is delicious.

Really impressed with the cuisine here. Everything was fresh and flavorful and generous portions with a healthy spice. It’s lined with art for sale with a number of impressive local pieces. It is pretty pricy; we average $35 per head, and that’s without drinking much and half of the party being kids. Worth it for a “nice” meal, but a little high if you’re looking for something casual.

We had the dumpling trio. It was total of 7 dumplings with 3 different textures and flavor profiles and all extremely delicious. My favorite of the 3 was the red bean mochi , which was sweet and sticky. The lamb and fig bun was a close second with its light and fluffy texture. We also tried the pad Thai, gyoza dumplings, beef bulgogi dumplings and mak kimchi. The kimchi was fresh made, not your usual multi-day fermented kind, which made it less potent and more milder in flavor, but still very tasty. I had it as a side to the bulgogi dumplings, which was a great pairing due to the fact that the dumplings, which resembled more of a samosa in style and texture were very beefy and rich with nothing else to brighten the flavor other than few slices of avocado and scallion garnish. To see their drink menu you have to go online and navigate to that category under menu. Here you will discover a large selection of very enticing drinks to surely please anyone. The atmosphere and decor were very relaxing. We visited on a Saturday night and there was live music , a guitar soloist, playing relaxing tunes to the patrons. The staff was very friendly. However, it did take about an hour for our 4 dishes to arrive. So be aware that your start to finish time here can range from hour and a half to two hours easily. So keep that in mind when planning your visit here. Over all this whole experience still made the highlight of our 4 day stay in Taos.

I'll get one thing out of the way, there was a hiccup with our party's reservation but it was taken care of. We sat outside which was so lovely in the late afternoon. The food was delicious, I had gotten the Currey which I can't get anywhere else, I would recommend it if you don't mind the spice. The rest of the group seemed to enjoy their food and I know we all left there full, happy and taken care of by the amazing waiter who was entertaining and funny.

We've been wanting to go for over a year now but with pandemic' alot of options to eat were limited. We did go and I've been back right the next nite! We enjoyed the spring rolls' plentiful size! And our main entree were the Pork Bahn Mi on a gluten free bread which was a great option! I extremely enjoyed the Red Curry chicken! Going back again was all I could think of and I did and will drop in again when back in Taos! Marshall's thumbs up to Donabe! So grateful to your vision and seeing it pan" out for you! This may not be New Mexican cuisine' but you will not be disappointed!

This is a small quiet Asian fusion place with unique signature dishes. My wife got Gluten Free Bahn Mi since it's very rare to find gluten free! She said she really liked it! It came with thai chili fries which were delicious as well. I got the Taos Ramen. It was very nice of them to make me a single serving since it's usually meant for two. I will say, the broth was pretty bland, I would recommend asking for beef broth as a replacement if possible. The other ingredients were good, especially the Bison. The wait staff was very nice and the manager came out to converse with us as well. The place also doubles as an art gallery with the owners private collection, which really liked after the meal to just walk around and look. Also their sake cocktails are pretty good. I got the sake mule. It's not super sweet which I liked.

Pretty darn delicious! Haven't been to many restaurants since everything opened up again after COVID19, and this was a great place to ease back into things! Wonderful patio seating, friendly staff and delicious food. Their sake based cocktails were delicious. A great little spot in Taos, check them out!

Delightful find, excellent food, very friendly service, reasonable prices. While vacationing in NM from Long Island, we stopped in Taos, NM. We were attracted to Debabe, as the name is a Japanese one pot meal. We were delighted to find they offer a lunch "choose your bowl" : one noodle type, one broth, one protien, one topper. I chose udon noodle beef pho, pork, spicy carrots topper. What a great combination, what perfectly cooked pork, udon and carrots! My husband went with udon, chicken broth grilled chicken, dumpling. Again, great combo, very well prepared food! Thank you Denabe! We even got to meet the chef, and say thank you and heap praise!

Had lunch here on a visit to Taos. The food was unique and had a touch of novelty to it, although I wouldn't say it tasted out of the world. It was good food. I would visit the place only for lunch because the dinner menu is expensive and don't think I will pay almost double for the food I had. The portion size was more than enough for a reasonable level of hunger.

Stopped in on a whim not expecting too much for an Asian restaurant in Taos, a fusion one no less. I grew up in Malaysia so I am extremely critical.....to say the least Ordered the pea flower ginger lemongrass tea beautiful and delicious. Our delightful server Ala brought out some lemons that made the tea turn purple. So fun Shared the gunpowder green curry with rice noodles and lamb. The broth was a nice balance with roasted vegetables and cashews. Not typical of most American Thai restaurants which over sweeten their curries and add too much coconut milk. The lamb was tender and very well seasoned. For dessert we ordered the black sesame carrot cake and homemade cardomom ice cream both with unique flavors Had a chance to chat with Marshal and the innovation he is bringing to Taos and the Asian food he is offering. Can’t wait to come back to try the ramen and other dishes

Donabe is a great place to eat and relax. The food was good, the bahn mi pork sandwich missed the mark for me as regards to authentic. But the Thai sweet chili chicken wings were a home run! I wish I had ordered more! The kimichi cucumber was a nice side dish. My friend ordered the green curry and enjoyed it but said that it could’ve been better. Overall I love that Taos, NM has a asian kitchen and I will definitely return for those Thai sweet chili chicken wings!
