Red House BBQ is our favorite BBQ restaurant... and, we have eaten at many over the years. The service and staff are very friendly and take their job seriously. The portions are generous and mouth wateringly delicious, smoked to perfection. The Mac n' Cheese is so good we order extra sides of it because I don't want to share! The outdoor patio doubles as a wonderful tribute to Native American History. Red House BBQ is dog friendly, also, so you dog lovers don't have to feel bad leaving your pups at home.
Just ate dinner here again with some friends, and once again, it was the best experience. Wonderful BBQ and so much hospitality! The service was so wonderful, and the owners are always so helpful and kind! I recommend this place for lunch and dinner!
Awesome place! Great tasting food. Very welcoming staff! They have an all original 1950's juke box with original records you can select music from, which I think is very cool! Don't drive by this place without stopping in for a bite to eat, otherwise you will be missing out!
I was impressed at first when I sampled the cowboy chili with brisket. It was delicious. I ordered the Cajun garlic shrimp for $14.99 for a 1/2 lb. (12 shrimp). After I paid, they told me they ran out of shrimp and could only give me 6 and asked me if I would like a substitute for something else.I got 2 sides. One being cowboy chili. Very disappointing. There was no brisket in the cowboy chili. I don't think I will be eating here again.
This was an amazing barbecue experience! The brisket was tender and juicy and the ribs fell right off the bone! The chili was deliciously spicy and the house sauces added just the right kick of flavor. This restaurant decor hails back to pioneer days and has several memorials for veterans. There is even an indoor water feature! All of this adds up to an authentic American barbecue experience that is worth the wait!
BBQ can be so hit or miss. This place was a huge hit. We had a chicken plate, pulled pork plate and frybread. The portions were decent sized and the meats were deliciously tender. I wasn't too fond of the baked beans but the red cabbage slaw was ridiculously good. I could have eaten another container of it myself. We got a couple kinds of sauce, one of which was pretty spicy but they tasted good.
We called our order in and it was waiting for us.
First time here and this placed impressed me a lot!! Friendly crew, cute atmosphere and the most important tasty food! We took 1/2 feast for 4 people and we all enjoyed it and it was enough. If I would drive through Tehachapi I would definitely visit this cute bbq place again.
If you're driving down the 58 freeway. Go ahead and pull over at the red house barbecue. You won't regret it! It's delicious! I had, their sausages and barbecue ribs. They were finger licking!😋 my husband had to try tip sandwich and he finished it all!! They have a nice little backyard patio. Where you could also sit down and enjoy the fresh air. I didn’t know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised! I had a salad with chicken! And a baked potato with cheese and bbq! The owners were there and introduced themselves and had us sample a taste of a dish we hadn’t ordered. I’ll be back!
The portions were large and the service was fast, even as they were slammed with busines. The food had great taste, especially the Indian bread. We had a party of 9 and we were all satisfied with our selections. We will definitely be back!

The brisket was absolutely amazing flaky, juicy, cut with a fork perfection! The sweet&smokey sauce had a good pour w robust flavor. Unique sides like elote, red slaw, & okra can’t be beat!
