BBQ.... top of my favorite list so when my son and I saw this place we decided to try it... wow!! So glad we did! The food was delicious, prices are reasonable, all served by friendly people. Family owned is a plus!
So now when I’m craving BBQ this is my go-to place.
Got the chopped beef loaded baked potato and chopped beef sandwich..talk about good. I have been trying to find a good bbq place in the area and was not disappointed. 10/10 will return!
Best food in Texas.. 1 million stars!!! Love that you can be a regular or first timer and they treat you like they have known you forever!!! Everyone that walks in is treated like Family!!!

*First things before we get into the food, the price per servings was spot on.
We were looking for a BBQ restaurant to try, and Old Tomball BBQ popped up on the radar with a good rating. Me and the wife got the loaded baked potato with chopped beef, and the kids got the one meat brisket plate.
Everything was good, and the BBQ sauce was warm and spot on with taste. The brisket was missing a little something but was tasty and warm.
The team cut a fresh brisket, the bark looked excellent, and the chopped beef for our potatoes was chopped on the spot.
The atmosphere was nice as it reminds me of an old BBQ joint.
It was hard to get a good photo, but it's definitely worth a try and will go back to try other foods.
The food is so good! The brisket, pork ribs and sausage is what we tried and it was all moist, not dried out at all with awesome flavor. The macaroni and green beans were very good too. I am glad to have finally found BBQ that reminds me of BBQ we get in the hill country! Because chain restaurants do not ever compare. Fast and friendly service too.
The service was amazing. They were so sympathetic and understanding about me Having my last meal with my best friend. He will be going to the Lord today at 4:30 I couldn't have picked a better place to have a amazing meal with my Bestie Deebo
Delicious food, nice, cozy place. Prices are reasonable, good portions. One little complaint: you only get 1 slice of bread, and it was pretty hard, not fresh. I hope next time I get 2 slices.....I love my brisket and potato salad sandwich 🍞 😋 ❤️
We only tried the pulled pork, and when my wife asked to have less fat while the guy shredded the meat, he kinda turned up his nose... Like it was off putting to ask for some pieces with less fat. Other that that, the food was good... While there a few people came in for brisket, so we will have to come next time. Place is rated pretty well, and I guess I expected a little more... But other than the young man behind the counter turning up his nose to my wife... It was ok. We will be back regardless, it's between my son's house and ours.

Moist, super tender, it melts in your mouth, fall of the bone ribs, tender flavorful pull pork, best coleslaw I’ve had at a restaurant, excellent service and nice cozy western ambiance.

This is the BEST bbq restaurant, no doubt! We drove from Katy and it was worth it, Brisket and Pork Ribs were insane delicious 🤤 we’re going back for sure. The service, the restaurant everything super special . Happy that we found this place, our favorite bbq place 😋
The potatoes 🥔 are fantastic. My only regret, is after tasting the meat 🍖 on the potatoes. That I did not order more. This place is great 👍 👌 🙌 👏 ☺️ 😀

My first visit today was like stepping back into my childhood. The old building with the uneven floors with the scuffs from many workbooks and customers before me. I wasn't expecting the little area to step up into to order. The smells of bbq were amazing. As I checked the menu board and waited my time to order. I was so happy to ask and find out the potato salad didn't contain onion. I ordered a chopped beef sandwich and was happy to see it was brisket actually chopped in front of me not something of a glob of chopped brisket with sauce already combined with lunps of fat and everything else on a bun.
Plus you can't hardly get a good chopped beef sandwich under $12.00 and the price was only $9.
I was so happy to get back to my car, open my bag and get a good bite of yummy potato salad just like my sister used to make. I needed to get back on the road so I decided to grab me a big piece of the chopped brisket off my sandwich. Boy was it awesome so I grabbed me another hunk of choppef beef.
I couldn't get to the house fast enough.
I truly enjoyed my first time to Old Tomball BBQ and it will for sure be my 1st of many more to come.

I've driven past here too many times to count. And I finally took the time to go try out their brand of barbecue. I was not disappointed. I tried he brisket and sausage. The current owner was behind the counter acting as the cutter (he said he's also pitmaster, wait staff, bus boy, etc). I asked him if I could get some extra bark-y pieces and he happily obliged. For sides I had to try the potato salad and the coleslaw. The meat was very tasty - good bark on the brisket, ok grind on the sausage, and the sides were quite good. Hickory is the wood of choice for smoking, but there is some pecan that is used as well. Old Tomball BBQ is certainly not in the same class as places like Tejas and Corkscrew, and probably not quite in the same league as The Rib Tickler or The Meating Place. But it is good and tasty. I really liked the friendliness of the owner. And the facilities are very comfortable. All in all, not a bad place for good barbecue without any lines...
Beef ribs was amazing. The brisket was tender but was a little dry and not warm. Sides mac n cheese and beans they were ok.
Highly recommend this place. The staff was very kind. We travel around a taste BBQ places. This places let us try sides before even buying. The brisket was moist and had great smoke flavor. They have one of our top 3 favorite ribs here in Houston so far. Not a sweet style but dry rub with good smoke flavor. Doesn't fall off the bone when pick up , but not hard to bite into. The smoke flavor is a little much. So you will greatly enjoy ,but not be able to eat to much of there meat as it can become overwhelming. Okra was good. Thank you for the great service.
Place is clean, but a little dingy. If you’re willing to go old school and eat some good bbq.. this is a good choice
I didn't like the brisket but really liked everything else. Coleslaw was great. Okra was fresh. Sausage was pretty good too.
