The people here are very nice and talk to you. Chris I believe that’s his name was our server. He did a fantastic job.
I had the bone in rib-eye which was fantastic. I also had the salad with homemade thousand island dressing which was great. The fried clam strips were amazing too.

Made a reservation for NYE and had no idea what to expect. The coordinator for this evening did an exceptional job ensuring that seating, service & entertainment went as planned. I was honestly impressed with how efficient the night was handled considering it was a busy NYE Friday night ! Our server was friendly, patient & prompt. We brought our own champagne and it was placed in a nice chilled bucket full of ice, we enjoyed it very much ! The food was brought out very quickly and in order. The band was fun and played a great set ! What a GREAT evening ringing in 2022 at The San Franciscan exceeded my expectations!

My first time at the San Franciscan on sepulveda near Crenshaw no reservations just walk-ins at the front desk at the rear entrance parking is kind of a problem. But the food is really great and worth it they have outdoor seating too they have a lounge bar inside and they are pretty pretty busy I think it's also a meat 😋 market to meet people🙆 🥰
I hear the prime rib is really great that's what my wife and I got they say the prime rib is like butter🧈 it melts in your mouth. First they bring you some sourdough bread to the table then they ask you if you want soup or salad.
Then they bring you that delicious entree of food the waiters and waitress were very polite....
My wife got the prime rib medium rare
And I got mine rare or raw!! It comes with two kinds of horseradish creamy or regular it'll open up your nose lol. It's a family ran business next time I go I'll have to check out the menu for the other delicious wonderful food they offer so if you're really hungry and want to meet someone go to the San Franciscan.... They also have a four-star from the newspapers review.... So bring the whole family and enjoy a good dinner!!🤗

Like stepping back in time to a great old steak house and pub. We ordered the prime rib and the New York. Both were incredibly tender and perfectly cooked. Service was perfect, especially considering how busy it was. And the prices were surprisingly low. This was our first time, but we will definitely be back.

One of the best restaurants in Torrance everyone I bring here loves it. The prime rib is delicious and what they are known for but all their food is good. The waiter Chris is an amazing staff member and you are very fortunate if you get him.

My family has been coming here since the 80’s..I brought my husband here last night for the first time (newlyweds) and they didn’t disappoint. Best prime rib I’ve ever had, no exaggeration. He told me this morning that he can’t stop thinking about it lol of course they have the best salad dressings, calimari and zucchini also..san Franciscan is 5 star, casual dining they also have great drinks.

Went here, for the 1st time last night, for our 29th Anniversary dinner. Was good! We each had Prime Rib with baked potatoe. They give you all the fixins for your potatoe on the side (butter, sour cream, chives). Prime Rib was good! The sourdough bread was great! Salad was good, and the fresh cracked pepper on top added that special spice and zing to it! We went early for dinner, and got seated and served right away! We'll be back again some time in the future!

I have been coming here with my parents since I was little and it’s always been great. But I came here yesterday to celebrate with my man and man it was disappointing. The hostesses and the bartender were great but our server was not. People around us who ordered after us and ordered the same food we did got their food before us. We asked for refills on our drinks and she didn’t bring it until we were almost done with our food. Then when she finally brought our clam chowder out it was the weirdest gelatinous texture instead of being creamy.
And to top it off by the time we got home we were both sick. Literally spent all night going back and forth to the bathroom. 😖
I don’t think I’ll be returning.

My third visit of the San Franciscan did not disappoint. We went last night for my wife’s birthday and ordered the ribeyes. Cooked perfectly as ordered med rare with a delicious baked potato and a salad. I brought my own bottle of Rombauer wine and they opened it for me for a small corkage fee. The service was excellent as always. We will be back. �

Husband and I have been going to the San Franciscan twice a year for 46 years. Our anniversary and my birthday. He passed away last year. My daughter and grandson took me there last night for what would have been our 48th anniversary. Service started off a little cranky but we turned that around, with smiles and politeness and things improved greatly. I always order the Australian lobster tail. Best lobster I've ever had, anywhere, hands down. Melts in your mouth. I won't have lobster anywhere else. It's been my place to go for all happy celebrations. We had our 40th Anniversary dinner there. Fabulous.

Loved it. First time for my husband and me. Jennifer, our server, was always asking if everyone was happy. What's not to be happy? Fast, friendly service. Great food and drinks. The place is 1970's decor, so they have been around awhile and know what works. Will be returning.

it's gone downhill so much, mostly the service. The last two times we ate there (the latest about 2 weeks ago), we had average to below average service. Both times we didn't get any bread so I assumed they didn't put bread on the tables anymore, but as we were leaving I saw other tables with bread. When I asked the hostess if we should have gotten bread, she told me "you should have asked your server". how was I supposed to know it was an option? the server should have asked US if we would like bread. they know their regulars and everyone else gets "B" treatment. the food was still good but I hate being treated crappy, service-wise so I'm going to re-think this place when looking for a steakhouse....

I finally was able to eat dinner here, it’s always very busy when I come in. The grilled shrimp and rice were very good, the vegetables not so much. Very good wait staff, quick and friendly.

Great retro dinner. Thoroughly enjoyed this retro place. Prime rib and grilled shrimps were excellent. Wine and drinks reasonable. Would definitely go back.

Great place! Found the restaurant listed on Urban Spoon when we were traveling through the area and felt like a steak. It had a high % and it is correct. Don't judge by the outside of the restaurant - I didn't think it looked like much but was wonderful! The atmosphere is reminiscent of the 50's - love the red leather booths! I had the prime rib and it was excellent. My husbands ribeye was excellent as well. Check this place out!
