My husband and I ate here last weekend. It was fantastic! I had the grilled trout and was very pleased with the portion size, taste and price. It was delicious!!! My husband isn't a fan of fish, so he had the chickens fingers and was equally pleased with his meal. The staff was very friendly and personable. If you're looking for a quick, delicious meal for a very reasonable price, I would highly recommend.

Nothing fancy about this place, take your order at the counter, plastic utensils and roll of paper towel at the table, best melt in your mouth perch I ever had. Great portion size!

My wife and I have now been to both this location and the one in Mackinac City and they have the best white fish I have ever tasted. Pair that with the coleslaw and hush puppies, best plate you'll ever eat.

Best fresh water fish place in Michigan in my opinion. Loved the fish, I had a two piece White Fish basket...great food and great service and atmosphere.

I enjoyed this restaurant so much that in my one week in the area I ate here twice. Whitefish chowder and asiago asparagus soups were excellent. Walleye and perch were cooked perfectly. The young chef definitely knows how to do it right. Prices are a little high, but the quality is there. Enjoy!

Fish done right. The menu has so many great choices and they all taste great. A must visit when visiting. We enjoyed every bite and wish we could have come back for more but on this trip we were just driving through. Will definitely visit again.

Location / Atmosphere - Very roomy place with good amount of seats available.  Wasn't busy when we came in and we were able to combine a few tables as we had a larger group. No problems with that. Food / Beverage - Simple menu perfect for a quick lunch. I had the 'white fish' sandwich which was very good. Others in our party had 'baskets'. I should have gotten a basket. Tough to do a 'fish sandwich' on a hamburger bun. It fell apart quickly. By the By, who can resist 'hushpuppies'.... Service - Very quick and friendly service.  I did actually over hear the table next to us where one of their guests order a drink that they didn't want. Sever was very accommodating and did the exchange with-out a problem. In summary - Overall a very nice place in Northern Michigan. Good Food, Good Service. A tip - Park in the Garage next door, they will validate....Another place to return to when in the area....

Spending last weekend before school start in Traverse City with my family. We decided to grab a quick dinner here. Love, love the fish. I would definitely be coming back before I leave town.

Very good Perch and Walleye, either fried or grilled for a healthier option. Both the grilled Walleye and the fried Perch were perfectly cooked and very fresh tasting. Fries were very good, the hushpuppies a little too dense (need to add some wheat flour and more baking soda) and the coleslaw is overdressed. I like a little more cabbage with my mayo. Very friendly front of house. Very unique Fishcamp interrior decorations and theme. Lots to look at after your meal, old engines, oars, fish guides, fishing poles, stuffed fish, etc.

They can get pretty busy, the wait was a bit long but the food was good. We ordered shrimp, walleye, and perch sandwich. The Walleye was great, I definitely should have ordered more.

Great fish in Traverse City! Fresh whitefish, walleye, lake perch, or chicken for the land lubbers. The whitefish chowder is fabulous. Fish is deep fried in a light batter, great tartar sauce, nice french fries, and hush puppies. They also offer fish broiled, and salads. Nautical themed with old fishing gear and outboard motors. Very friendly staff. It's a "must stop" if you visit downtown. Free parking in the ramp (they will validate your ticket).

Enjoy visiting Scalawags with the family. The food is hot and fresh. Especially like the fries. Enough variety on the menu to make it some place we can visit often. Small town feel. Decent prices. My kids love the hush puppies.
