What a great diner! We stopped here during our stay in Traverse City and glad we did. Decor is retro and bright. Staff is attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Food was amazing - from the chili dogs to the onion rings and fried clams. Kids meals come in a paper folded classic car from the 50s. Seating is a little cramped but not too uncommon for a diner. Highly recommend a stop if you're visiting the area. Oh I almost forgot - get an order of fried pickles. They are fantastic!

Went here for dinner the other night and had a great time it's definitely a small restaurant but there were always one or two tables open. One of the more interesting aspects of this place is they still do window delivery The only other place I know that still does it is the A&w in Frankfort. The kids burger comes in this adorable cardboard '57 Ford Fairlane hot rod our server was very nice and she gave us a car even though we did not order a kid's meal. I got the CharBoiled chicken breast And it was delicious I will definitely be coming back to Don's Drive-In and I recommend others check it out too!

From the moment I pulled into Don's Drive-In in Traverse City, MI, I knew I was in for a treat. The mid-century vibe was immediately inviting, and their friendly staff made me feel welcome. Their menu, filled with classic American fare, didn't disappoint. The burgers were flavorful, cooked to perfection, and the fries were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside - simply perfect. Their milkshakes deserve a special mention. Thick, creamy, and exactly the kind of indulgence you want from a drive-in. You can't go wrong with their cherry shake, a fitting tribute to Traverse City's cherry culture. Overall, Don's Drive-In provides an enjoyable trip down memory lane with delicious food that will bring you back for more. Highly recommended for locals and tourists alike.

This place is not retro, it's the real deal. Been around since the 1950s. We enjoyed Burger baskets and malteds. Burger baskets were served hot and delicious and the shakes are thick and flavorful. Service was good. Prices are reasonable and the venue is clean. There is now CarHop service as well as indoor dining. Restrooms are available. A fun part of any trip to traverse City!

Fantastic! Old fashioned service = polite friendly atmosphere. Food was very good. Prices were even better. 3 full meals and 20% tip for good service and still got 8$ back from a 50. Loved it. Loved it. You don't have to pay a fortune here for good food and good service. Thank you and jukebox for a nice day.

Love the vibe of this retro drive-in diner! We opted to enjoy the curb side drive in service. Hit the button below the menu and they will come out to your vehicle. We ordered burgers, car load of fries( more than enough for 5 adult eaters!!), onion rings and a real fruit shake. Everything was great!

This is a really great place if you're looking for great 50's Americana-style food with a 1-2 punch of nostalgia. The 3/4lb aptly named MONSTER burger is a sight to behold, and a pleasure to indulge in. Be warned though, it's not for the casually hungry... it's a real commitment. Happily, the beef they use makes the journey a real pleasure. Top notch flavor, and the staff are just great. There's a fairly tall and larger gal who waited on us. What a joy to be around, she's doing something right in her life because she's just the sweetest thing. She looks like she jumped right out of the 1950's, heart and all. Everything on the menu is delicious, and if you don't top it all off with a real fruit shake or malt (with huge chunks of fresh fruit in it that make it otherworldly), then you're missing out. The entire place is just a true Traverse City gem that can't be overstated and shouldn't be missed.

The food is amazing (they have fried mushrooms), and it was delivered to the table quickly. The staff were really attentive, and came out to see how things were multiple times (which ive only received once before). The decor is that of a retro dinner making the air of the place festive but still relaxing. Would really recommend this place to everyone wanting good food and amazing service when they are in the Traverse City area.

Enjoy Classic American Breakfast at Don's Drive In in Traverse City During our recent visit to Traverse City for a sports tournament, my partner and I had breakfast at Don's Drive In, and it was a wonderful experience. This classic American diner has a retro interior and a menu that reflects its long history. Its a typical geasy spoon restaurant where you get the classic comfort food you want to. The service was welcoming, and the food came out fast and well-made. We were lucky enough to get a table right away since we arrived early, but as we ate, we noticed lines building up, so we recommend arriving early to avoid the crowds. Overall, Don's Drive In is a must-visit restaurant in Traverse City for anyone looking to enjoy a classic American breakfast in a welcoming atmosphere. Don's Drive In in Traverse City is a fantastic place to enjoy a classic American breakfast. With fast and friendly service, delicious food, and a charming retro atmosphere, this diner is definitely worth a 5-star review recommendation

My dad took me here as a kid and finally I got to take my son here. Food was excellent, our waitress was extremely quick and helpful. My son loved the milkshakes and I still love these burgers. Will definitely make the trip next time I'm in town!

1st time here and we will be back. Jason was one of the best servers we have had in a long time. Perfect mix of helpful, attentive and genuine. And, he was pretty funny too. The burgers are so fresh & juicy that the bun can't handle them...but in a good way. The shakes are a must...Jason was ✅️ correct. Thank you.

Greeted with kindness when calling in my order. When I arrived I was greeted by all employees I came in contact with. Great customer service from a great group of people, glad to support locally owned business when this is how they operate!

It was my first time at this restaurant and the employees were awesome. The food was so fresh and tasty. Me and my fiance ordered sliders and fried pickle spears. We also had a chocolate milkshake and it was thick. The pickle spears were delicious. The restaurant was really clean. Prices were fair.
