This joint is nuts. Amazing food. Andrea our server was super friendly. Fried pickles amazing. Buffalo burger great. Cod and smelt all top notch. Portion sizes are massive. Prices quiet reasonable. There is a REASON this place has been in business for 140 years. Highly recommend!

Can’t say enough about this place! Great place for Drink and some legit food. My burger was cooked to perfection and hit the spot. The Atmosphere is old school & cool, an old broken down dirty bar from way back in 1883 (it’s not dirty I promise just makes it sound cooler) Does it get much better? Food was great and our waitress Mary Ann was perfect, super friendly and fun. We of course were asking crazy question about the place. She tried her best to answer them.Don’t forget to Kiss the Moose for Goodluck…they’ll ring the bell and get the crowd clapping! we will be back for sure 😎

Delicious, fresh, and fast food! We didn't realize we were going to the oldest restaurant in Michigan when we chose it, but with the great service, unique interior, and delicious food I can see why the place is still going strong after so long. Taco salads were delicious as were the Moose chips. The food wasn't overly greasy either like some burger and fries are. While group walked away happy with the large range of choices and the food we ended up getting.

When can you go to a restaurant that was established back in the 1880's?! It's amazing. Taxidermy isn't really my thing, but the vibe is very rustic old timey chic. Had a great waitress, very friendly staff. Deep fried pickle appetizer was hot and delicious. My main dish was a bit cooled off when received, so that was unfortunate. Definite timing issue, because the taste was there and was still good. Had cod basket with onions rings. Husband had chicken fingers which were real good, but he didn't like the soft fries (they were also barely warm). I would go back and try again because i really feel like it was just a fluke our main courses weren't served hot enough - because the pickles were so hot we had to give them time to cool off before eating. Potential for five stars.

Hubby and I are trying all these hometown favorites while doing the M-22 Fall Color Tour. BEST AYCE FRIDAY FISH FRY HANDS DOWN ANYWHERE WE'VE TRIED! Our waitress was Mary Ann, and the whole place meshed well with one another, working with everyone to get a great meal out to their customers. Great appetizers, great fish, and fries. Reasonably priced, huge portions and great service with the best Friday night fish fry WE'VE ever had!!!!

Very historic place! 5 stars all day! Yes it was your typical bar food, but that was what I was looking for! A nice homemade bowl of chili on a cold day and some smelt! The staff was very nice as well!

It's an old place, so no kind of chain restaurant nonsense. Supposedly oldest in Michigan, but great diner food. The clam chowder was the best I've had in a super long time. Housemade. They have tutor tots so I loved that too. The smelt plate was huge. Perch was excellent and the club sandwich was made perfectly.

Visited for a late dinner on a Friday night. Seated right away, friendly staff. Servers checked in with us a few times, took orders, and brought drinks quickly. Another server came to take our order too, but we already had. Food was piping hot, came out quickly, and was really good (burgers, tots, curds). Great selection or beers and cider. Decor was fun. Warning: lots of animals mounted on the walls. The 'kiss the moose' tradition is fun and kids really enjoyed it! Overall a fun local spot!

A wonderful little gem. It has a local bar atmosphere with exceptional wait staff. The fish was delicious, particularly the perch.
