They classed the place up a bit in the last five years.. I love the burgers and fries and the outdoor patio. They have a much better menu and attract a higher class crowd. Saw Milt Wilcox who pitched for the Tigers in the 84 world series enjoying a couple of beers here.
Great Place. Good food! The french fries were the best! Great burgers and cold beer. Friendly staff, two pool tables and a pretty outside eating area. Local crowd, not overrun by summer tourists.
Stopped in one day for a late lunch. They were offering smoked pulled pork on that day. We had a nacho with the pork. It was excellent! One of the best nachos I ever had. Piled high, definitely plenty for two. I have never been disappointed with the food here. The atmosphere is friendly and its like the neighborhood Cheers. Everyone remembers you. Very nice patio with ample space to sit outdoors and visit. The music is also piped outside. Lots of top shelf liquors to satisfy any palette. Plenty of T.V.s to watch sports. I highly recommend this place.
The sweet bar tender was the most enjoying feature, personality, kindness and respectful . I got so drunk I can't remember her name, but I'll always know that blonde sweet soul, my buddy Alex and I enjoyed it. I believe her name was Kim? But a sweet lady.... Awesome place!!! Was here for one night only and the bartender plus regular customers were awesome and so welcoming. Great place for drinks and food! Will definitely visit again when in town 💙

Seriously. Go. Here. We went for our friends bachelorette party and had an AMAZING TIME. WE WERE LITERALLY ONLY HERE a few mins and knew it was a great time! Anyone that posted a negative review doesn’t know a good time if it slapped them in the face. They are great people and were so welcoming! Karaoke was A W E S O M E
This is your proverbial neighborhood bar. Service is good, food appears to be good and they have pool tables. Prices are half of the Grandview Parkway "hipster" crowd. Different clientele than downtown but I like it. Amber is alright.
Place is great. Menu is simple. The waitress was awesome. Pool tables, foosball, pinball. Great bar.
My wife and stop here every time we are in town. We love this place. Yes it's not an upscale bar with snooty people and that's what we like. From day one we were treated like family. I read reviews about not liking out of town people and can only conclude there is a reason they weren't liked. Like I said we were treated like family from day one.
Bartender was kind of rude. He was just... rude. But the drink was good and beer was cold. I always recommend the Sail Inn if someone asks where to get a good burger.
If you like to stop at a place without a stuffy atmosphere, have a couple of good cocktails and some good bar food this is the place. Wish it would have been nice enough to enjoy the patio because it's awesome. Not to mention the 2 pinball machines and pool tables. We'll be back.
I'm from downstate and wandered upon this place while looking for some dinner. Great little spot. Went for a burger and stayed for a few beers. Bartender was awesome and professional. Pool tables, patio, and TVs. I will return 😎
this place literally saved my friends bachelorette party. after being told by THREE bars that we weren’t allowed in because we were a bachelorette party, the Sail Inn welcomes us with open arms and showed us the best time. the bartenders were amazing, the drinks were FANTASTIC (get the Buckhole shot!!!!) and the customers were so lively and made our night. so fortunate we ended up finding this spot!!
