Great atmosphere, quick and polite service, great sushi, and very delicious drinks!
I am highly satisfied with my first time at Mon Jin Lau. Me and 4 of my best girlfriends went here for an early birthday celebration for myself. The entire staff greeted us, made sure we were taken care of, and everything was delicious. We loved everything, but especially the crab rangoons, dragon roll, and fire cracker roll! The ShangHai Cosmo and Mai Tai are also amazing.
10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for a great environment, friendly staff, and food and drinks to die for.

I've been going to Mon Jin Lau for years, it's my favorite spot to go to when I'm in town! I love the loungy ambient music atmosphere in the front dining hall, complete with classy white cloth covered tables and a candle. When the kids come along they are usually quietly occupied coloring on the large white paper that is laid ontop of the table where the friendly waitstaff writes their name as they introduce themselves :) I love this place for the atmosphere and the great Asian food 😋
Had a great experience here tonight, the food was great the service was even better. Our server Carrie was amazing and really made us feel welcomed and helped us with anything we needed and had great recommendations. She even offered to come outside to take a picture of my family and I. She was exceptional, thank you for giving us a great night!

This place is spot on! Best sushi hands down! We had the Godzilla and Salmon on the Beach Roll, Shrimp Fried Rice and Sesame Chicken. Great Drinks too!!!!
Absolutely WONDERFUL service❤️ Our waitress, an older lady about my age 50s early 60s was by far the best server we have dined with in a long time. She was pleasant, patient and very helpful. She kept our glasses full our table organized and a smile on her face. I hate that I can’t recall her name but I’m going to find out and request her. We had a large party of 10 and she balanced it perfectly!!
Entree’s are top notch (ask for Sea Bass Rockefeller) and sushi is delectable. Atmosphere especially on Wednesday’s are non other like anywhere else in Detroit metro. Food, fun, and entertaining. I’ve brought friends/ colleagues from out of state, and they are impressed. A go to for Detroit burbs.

I love Mon Jin Lau ! Best place to go on a Wednesday night. Salmon on the beach roll is amazing. I come here to celebrate all of my friends birthdays and have a blast every time �

Tasty loaded spring rolls and a very savory and multi layer flavored stuffed eggplant appetizer..
Udon dish had lots of fresh veggies.
The atmosphere is very classy, low lit seating and atttactive paintings decorate the restaurant.

I have not been here in years. A birthday celebration brought a small group of us here for the same delicious food they've always served. We spent so much time talking and laughing that I don't think any of us bothered too take pictures of our food. Staffing service friendly courteous and efficient.
When everywhere seemed to have 1hr+ wait, we lucked out and got in here without a wait. And this was probably better than where we'd planned.
The staff was absolutely wonderful keeping everything moving smooth on a busy night. And the food itself was incredibly well prepared! Seriously so perfect, especially on the poultry which is so difficult to get this perfect. Even the tofu was exceptional.
We got drinks as well which were good and the combinations for fusion were wonderfully inventive. I will be coming back.
I hadn't been to Mon Jin Lau in a long time. The service was good and the food was excellent. It was my husband's first time and he really enjoyed the food. He's still talking about the rice.
I had never been here before but was glad I stopped in today! The whole staff was so friendly and helpful, and our server took such great care of us. The food was excellent. Amazing taste, presentation, and was worth the price. I recommend getting the calamari as it was so delicious! I also love how a manager(I'm assuming) was watching, making sure things went smoothly, without seeming to be overbearing to the rest of the staff. We will definitely be back
It is true that you get what you pay for.
While it is typically that some people mention about the price, I would say their customer service is absolutely phenomenal, from the security gentleman who noticed within 2 seconds that we want to leave, to the gentleman that keeps the door open. Well, one of the waitress could have done better, but it was a busy night.
I have been here before and after pandemic. Always happy.

If you’re looking for a classy Asian cuisine experience. This is the place. Fantastic sushi plates and grade A traditional Chinese food. Prices are a bit high so expect to have a high bill. Fantastic spot for a romantic date and the outdoor patio is great, especially on their Shanghai Wednesday’s event they have.
The Singapore noodles are fantastic and the sesame chicken is perfect.
Excellent food and atmosphere. Friendly staff. It was my son's birthday. They sang and he got free dessert.
