I have been going to Caruso’s since the early 1980s. It’s changed, but doesn’t everything? They have expanded the size of the restaurant, the patio is beautiful and larger. We went last night for my birthday, and I enjoyed it as much as any other birthday I’ve spent there, which is many.
The lasagna was delicious, the chicken parmigiana was harder to tell because I was stuffed by then. Excellent salad. Of course the bread is to die for and I always have it with Caruso sauce, which may be why I couldn’t eat my chicken. We took half of everything home. I did have dessert which was the Capaccino Freeze. The only restaurant I know that makes it.
Yes I wabbled out like a Weeble, but a darn happy Weeble at that.
By the way it was prom night and just slowing down when we got there. No waiting and excellent service.
Thank you Cassandra.
Have eaten there several times over the years and have never had a disappointing meal served. The service staff has always been polite and efficient. Andi, the manager has always been very accommodating in taking reservations for my group, be it a large or small gathering. Five Stars as far as I'm concerned.
Had the veal parmi with salad - we got to enjoy all the beauty of authentic Italian food without all the carbs of pasta! So refreshing to have a choice of sides without having to request a special low-carb option. Thank you!!
Went in for lunch and had a delightful experience. The ambiance was nice and the food tasted good. There were four in our party and I think we were all impressed. It is not a gourmet place but had the feel for what it is, a family owned Italian restaurant.
Outstanding food, great service. Highly recommend the spaghetti carbonara!! Anti-pasta for appetizer is a must!!!
Our "go to" place for family and great food!!! Eggplant parmesan is the best!!!
Excellent service and food. No bad items on the menu. Moved out of the state but still make it a point to eat here when in town.
Really awesome place .. friendly service most excellent food and the canoli .... yum ... thanx Cassandra for taking good care of us :)

Amazing food as always. A polite waitress who acknowledged my nephew when he spoke to her. Great wine. Fine atmosphere
It's a family tradition for us... I've been going to Caruso's since the early 1970s. My kids grew up eating lasagna! we just went there yesterday to celebrate my birthday.
The food is amazing authentic Italian, best garlic bread ever!
Used to go to Caruso's in the late 50's as a college kid and loved the food! So I was thrilled to find it was not just a sweet memory but still tasted as good or better than ever!
I've lived in Tucson all my life, not until recently I went into Caruso's now I wish I would've went many years ago. Excellent food excellent service, if you haven't gone you're missing out

Delicious food and service ! Glad we stumbled upon Caruso’s on our family vacation!
Best Italian restaurant, got to try the lentils soup 🥣 and spectacular 🍕
Always a great experience. Great food and service... never lets us down.
Wonderful locally owned family friendly place with good food, affordable and solid sevice.
From the lights, the space, the ambiance n all - I almost married myself there.
Great service , great food ! Made our celebration great !
Love the food and atmosphere! If I lived here I would be 200lb!
My hubby and I celebrated our anniversary on Saturday and had dinner here. First time coming here and it was delicious
Carusos is a must. Always good. Anyone in Tucson that has never been needs to go.
Delicious food! The eggplant parmigiana was really good & home made spaghetti!
Classic old school Italian restaurant right down to the red and white plaid table cloth. After a few days of SW food we decide to give this place a try as it had good reviews and gluten free options. We split the antipasto for two and got the Caruso special with gluten free penne. The meatballs and ravioli were not but they plated the meatball separately but the ravioli was next to the gluten free penne on the same dish. So, if you are celiac you might want to ask for it totally separately plated.
Our server was nice and explained our options. While we were there a huge monsoon downpour happened. We left just as the downpour ended but 4th Street was turned into a river of flowing water and the tram was stopped. There was also loss of power for a few of the stores along 4th Street
Bottom line, great place for Italian in Tucson with gluten free options.
It is nice to go into a restaurant that smells like someone is cooking at home. Had the spicy marinara with Seafood Pasta Delight if you like spicy this was delicious. Server was attentive and helpful. In a group of 6. Great dining experience compared to a lot of other places right now.
#1 Caruso's installed a stage type single use elevated lift for wheelchairs, from the sidewalk to the front door. This enabled our young son access to amazing food.
#2 Harry loves Mac n cheese, so the server suggested spinach ravioli stuffed with delicious cheeses.
#3 Having the marinara sauce on the side, as a dip, allowed our son to dress the ravioli, and enjoy dipping the garlic toast, especially.
#4 The atmosphere was lovely, and we felt like family.
#5 What a treat to discover Italian Spumoni ice cream, available to share as the exclamation point.
Plus, we rode the street car full circuit and were able to stop right outside the entrance and then jump back on after lunch.
Five ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ experience 😁😎
I've always wanted to eat at this lovely spot and, as luck would have it, I happened to be visiting a friend in the Tucson area.
We started with the antipasta salad (a must), and scaled to your party size. Just fabulous and the creamy Italian dressing was wonderful.
My friend had the chicken parmesean which was a huge portion. She was a bit surprised it didn't include a pasta side but they quickly brought one over for a small up charge.
I had the Chicken Tetrazinni, which was creamy and delicious. But, their lasagna and other pasta dishes looked incredible from the sounds of other guests.
The atmosphere is like a little Italy type of locale, and very inviting. The staff are friendly, like a family, and not over the top.
It's a casual spot perfect for small or large gatherings for any occasion...and the prices are a great value for the amount of food.
Oh, and try the Tiramasu. It's typical and traditional, but a nice smaller portion to share!
So this was the first time eating here , can honestly say it won't be the last!!! The food ,service, and atmosphere were fantastic!!! We enjoyed our daughters birthday with 23 family and friends with no complications ,the patio area was great everyone enjoyed themselves with no complaints on the fantastic Italian food. Wow, greatjob!!!, my wife is in a wheelchair and acceptability was no problem, thank you for a wonderful evening.
Caruso's is one of the best Italian places in town. They have fresh, flavorful food, with a lot of options.
Their dinner portions come in huge sizes, easily enough for two or three meals on each plate. Their chicken parmigiana is not breaded, making it a great choice for low carb and gluten free meal seekers; its also rich and delicious.
They have a small but fairly complex beer and wine menu, with just enough options for most people.
Their patio, when open, is lovely, and I can't recommend it enough. Like a lot of places, lunch is significantly cheaper then dinner, so if you're craving them and on a budget, that's the way to go.
Hearing impairment: This restaurant is loud. They keep the music up, and not only is it often busy but the acoustics of the room can lead to a lot of echoing. It can be hard to sort through the background noise.
Mobility: They do not have a ramp. They removed it in favor of a small single chair lift that needs an employee's assistance to work. If you do not have a able bodied person with you, you will have to call them and wait for someone to come out. The lift can hold 750 pounds. There is a decent amount of room between most of the tables, and lots of benches inside and out if you need to wait to be seated.
I have to say that this was like revisiting Mimma's Cafe in Milwaukee, and in the day. There's something extraordinary about walking into an establishment where you feel, feeeel the history, and the love. That's exactly what happened during what was my first time at Caruso's. I truly felt like I was part of the family, which I love. My beautiful dining girlfriends have been coming to Caruso's for years, and they introduced me to everyone and made me feel quite at home. The service was just extraordinary, and heartfelt and loving. And the food was like a Nonna was in the kitchen doing it all herself, like going to someone's house for dinner. I am completely enamored and in love with this place. It is Italian comfort exemplified. I do have to say one thing that was particularly extraordinary with receiving a slice of spumoni. Not a scoop, but a slice. That's pure genius. Thank you for a positively wonderful experience. I will definitely be back, as my girls are going to bring me here again, I'm sure. Because that's what love does.
We were visiting Tucson and it happened to be a day before our anniversary. We saw the reviews of this place and thought it it would be the percect ambience for a nice celebration dinner. We were right! We did not have a reservation, but we got there at 4:30, so we only had to wait about 40 mins. Keep in mind this was Valentines weekend and a Saturday! The food and our server (I think his name was Austin ❤️; we were on back patio) were AMAZING!! Had the antipasto salad, lasagna and the Caruso special. Both were so good! Best lasagna I've had hands down!! Don't get me started on their salad dressing or garlic bread!! To die for!! Will definitely go back if we are ever in the area again!!
Food was delicious and service friendly. Family had a great time there and the antipasto plate and the bread was the best. Music playing in the background and parking needs improvement. The atmosphere and lighting was perfect ,we ate outside in patio. Restaurant has a lot of room in dining area inside and outside. Great place to take the family.
I have been going to Caruso's for over 30 years and never get tired of going back. I always get the Lasagna and nothing else, but the wife gets the Mediterranean Shrimp and Mikey (My Daughter) gets the pizza or Fettuccine without meat. They both rate their meals great! I also enjoy the Pepperoni Pizza, but the baked Lasagna is just a perfect mix of Pasta, Sauce, Spices, and meat. The service is always good, but not always great and if you were to ask me this is what keeps me from giving out a 5 Star rating here. The ambiance is just too authentic and I LOVE eating out in the courtyard during the Spring. Strong Recommend :)
Please like the review after viewing! :)
I really like the ambiance here. Italian music in the background, relatively dim lighting. Enjoy sitting on the patio during the cooler months. Have not had a bad meal here from the lasagna to a non- traditional chicken parmesan, meatballs, sausage, even the pizza.
Excellent food and atmosphere! The staff were great. Especially Karen. Ate outside on the patio. They have a very large outdoor eating area.
I've been coming to Caruso's since I'm father brought me as a kid...now I bring my children. We love it!! Chicken Parmesan is definitely one of my favorites the cheese pizza is also Devine!
Great place to eat and my Lasagna was the best ever. Our waitress Desiree was fantastic 😙
