Gus Balon's Restaurant - Tucson - Photo album

Great diner. This is a must place to try when in Tucson. My waitress Amanda was great, very friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and the place it's self. I was lucky enough to show up on rice pudding day. As I was told by Amanda, it only happens occasionally. The proprietor was present and working
Great food friendly staff fast service definitely going back soon
A local and long-time staple homestyle family restaurant, serving up yummy comfort foods. The service is always prompt and friendly, and the food and coffee is always served hot.
Old school mom and pop restaurant. We've been going there for years. The wait staff are exceptional!!! Food is always hot and delicious. I like the home baked raisin toast with brekkie.
Made in house with pride, everything! I have been coming here since I was a kid and Gus was running the restaurant. As a kid I still remember the day my mom and I came for breakfast and the restaurant was closed with a wreath on the door, my mom explained that it meant Gus had passed away. This woul
Been going here since 1982. Excellent food, and great service at a fair price. You'll want to take home a cinnamon roll!
Great breakfast diner with a welcoming staff. You're close friends with everyone when you walk thru the door and the food I'd good an fast served. Save room for their specialty Cinnomen roll!
The staff here has been doing it right since the 60's. Everything is sooooooo fresh, homemade and delicious, plus my coffee cup is never empty. I love this place.
A great out of the way place to eat. Service was very fast and friendly. Food was EXCELLENT! Homemade food and atmosphere are hard to find. We will be back!
We had 5 people in our party, so we sat at a table outside. Waitress had a great personality that added to our experience. The food was great and quick to the table.
Great food! Excellent service! A real downhome food experience. Waitstaff is very caring. A wonderful meal.
Great tasting food and very attentive staff. First time here and enjoyed it. Looking forward to trying again
This is a family owned lunch counter that bakes their own bread, rolls and pies. The breakfast menu has favorites like chicken fried steak and fried pork chops and homemade corned beef hash and my favorite, the breakfast Burger, a home baked bun with a pork sausage, bacon egg and cheese. The waitres
The chicken had a nice flavor and good crunch however the hot sauce wasn't hot and had no flavor so it was lacking that kick it needed to take it over the top. The waffle was decent and the pancake was a bit dry.
It has been year's and Gus' is even better than I remember. The cinnamon rolls are huge and fantastic. However even better us the country ham. It is much larger than either Waffle House or Cracker Barrel. The veterans discount much appreciated.
Nice old-fashion diner. Went here for breakfast and the food was sooo good! The waitress was so nice and she did an awesome job. We never had to ask her for re-fills. Would definitely be coming back here when I'm in the area.
Very nice local diner. Friendly staff. Good food. Reasonable prices. There is no reason to not come here. Most things are made "in house" too. They have 4 person booths or the option to sit on stools at the counter. Try the cinnamon roll because - - - just do it. 😀
