Reviews Tamarind

We needed a decent venue to host a group of foreign guests and Tamarind had no trouble accommodating our party of 12. The service was polite and attentive throughout the experience but most importantly, the food was terrific! Each guest had the option to select his/her spice level (low, medium, or spicy). I went with medium, which offered the perfect amount of heat to back-up the tremendous journey of flavors. I had the Murg Malai Kabab (Chicken kabab with rich cream sauce & gypsy onion), and Chili Garlic Naan (Flat bread baked with spicy fresh herbs and garlic). Weeks later, I still hold a craving for those delectable flavor combinations. If you haven’t had Indian food in a while, I highly recommend an experience at Tamarind to reinvigorate any bored and unappreciated taste buds.

Highly recommend! Staff was incredibly friendly and attentive without being invasive. The food was amazing; fresh, rich, and subtle. Each dish was very distinctive in its flavor and had just the right amount of heat - as ordered. I could eat there every week if I lived here!

My husband and I were visiting Tucson and stopped here for dinner on a week night . We ordered Masala Fries , Kashmiri Malai Kofta and Chilli Cheese naan . I must say after taking a bite, I felt I was transported back to India . The staff were attentive and courteous . The food was so delicious and authentic . Do give this place a try .

Nice restaurant, nice staff. I prefer traditional chili peppers in my Indian food over jalapeño. I prefer my tandoori to be a dry rub instead of the bbq sauce. The tandoori chicken was still good, sauce was good. Almost impossible to eat with fork and knife due to bones that you cant see because its covered in sauce. Going to give the buffet a shot and hope for the best.

This is a very large, clean restaurant. My wife and I love the soft lighting, and The sweet smiles from all the staff. Most people don't know their food is nothing more than pure pleasure; my pallet Is never sad when I visit this place. Take your whole family they will fit right in. I just wish they had salsa dancing. Or a belly dancer

Went for take away dinner, and let me tell you, you will not be disappointed! First of all, when you pull into this place it is absolutely beautiful, the landscape in very inviting. Inside the restaurant you truly feel like you are dueling into an authentic Indian restaurant in India! The spiciness is not overwhelming, the food is incredibly delicious and the Naan, oh my God! You will not be disappointed. The portions are generous!

Amazing staff, always coming back to our table to ask us if everything is okay and if we need anything. AMAZING Curry, so many flavors and spices. You don't want to miss out on this place. The Garlic Naan is outstanding, you HAVE to try it. I'm not great at handling spice but I kept going back for the Fish Curry I got even though my lips were on fire. (medium) Very very good Mango Tango, would %100 recommend it. Needless to say this is a place you must visit.

First time ever trying this place out. Sunday night, right after they opened for the dinner shift. I was impressed with how clean the place was. The layout is open and flows very well. You won't feel squeezed in no matter where you're seated. The bench seats and chairs are more comfortable than most places I've eaten at. Service was great and Andrew was wonderfully helpful and patient. They don't skimp on the rum and even though there place wasn't packed (Sunday night at 5:30) Andrew didn't come to the table more than what is normal. The food was delicious and I'm not a huge fan of Indian food. The price point for dinner is about 12-18 bucks depending on what you order. I will be going back in the future to try more things because while I've not liked Indian food in the past, this place offers the option for "very mild" on it's spices. It allows me to get the tame versions and my partner to get the melt your face off stuff that he likes. It's a nice date night dinner place in jeans or in a dress. The lunch buffet looks like a great option to try this place out if you've never been before.

They have definitely improved on the previous reviews. Even though the kitchen was closed they made more naan. Portions are generous and a good ratio of protein to curry. Definitely the top Indian restaurant in Tucson. Give it a try! Giving it a five star since I disagree with the lower ratings!

Rare finds in Tucson. This restaurant serves authentic north Indian food. Menu has many choices for appetizers, entree’s, veg & non-veg. Ambiance is very nice and staff is friendly with good service. Food is delicious with only one downside- quantity of meat, chicken, shrimp etc. in curry & biryani is very less than is supposed to be.

This is one the best place for indian food in Tucson. They had the exact indian flavours and taste. Their hospitality and service is great too. This is the item wise review:- Royal Lassi:- it is a good drink but does not fulfil your thirst of authentic lassi but it does have a nice mango flavour that refreshes you. Appetizers:- Gobi Manchurian dry:- This was really good though we were expecting it to be a little like gobi 65 and have a very thick gravy. It delivered fairly based on the description. Chicken chilli:- this was not listed in the menu but they were kind enough to make it on request. This was by far the best chicken chilli I have had in Tucson. It was spicy and dry enough to be eaten as appetizer. Main course:- Veg shahi korma:- again we requested spicy gravy instead of sweet gravy for korma and it was made according to our expectations. Rara chicken:- it was a great combination of tomato and onion gravy. It had a flavour of butter masala gravy and chicken curry. Cheese naan:- it was super heavy and filling but and the same time amazing naan. It didn't go chewy at all. It was super soft Garlic naan:- this was again super soft and had very nice taste of butter and garlic. Chicken Biryani:- they make it a dum Biryani which leads to getting all the flavours infused in the rice. All in all it was a great service with great food!
