One of the best country fried steaks I've had. Fast friendly service and the food was fresh and hot when they brought it to me. I like that they give you the option of country fried or chicken fried. Country fried is lighty breaded and pan seared Chicken fried is double battered and deep fried I opted for the country fried.

This place is great! They have gone all out on the decorations inside to make it rustic and witty. They also provide serve-yourself pinto beans, chili bowls, and Blue Bell ice cream with every meal. They have burger, fries, & coke for about $8, pork chop plates, etc., for about $10-12, and kids eat free special hours (e.g. Saturday 11am-5pm). It's a treasure!

The food was very good. I had the chicken fried steak. It had a crispy batter and I could cut the steak with my fork. I will definitely be back the next time I come to Tyler.

On Mother's Day, I took my ex-wife and daughter, whom I am proud to say will be a Mom sometime in July, but I digress.  To be honest, I had never even heard of this place until my daughter suggested it and am I glad she did.  First, let me say the service was right up there with the best I have ever had and that was due to our waitress, Morgan.  She ranks in the top two best waitresses I have ever had in my somewhat long life.  Next the menu is outstanding.  If one can't find something to eat from it, then you are just not hungry.  I had the all you can eat fish and the girls had Grilled Shrimp Alfredo.  We ordered chips and salsa and the stack of Onion Rings.  No diet coke here, but the diet Dr. Pepper worked just fine.  The food was delicious and the fish was a golden brown and really hot.  The price for three of us was just over $50.00, not counting tip, so to me, the price was about average for such great service and outstanding food.

04/04/2018---Saturday, the 31st of March, my ex got us together for a post birthday lunch.  Six adults and one child.  We were outside waiting when the doors were unlocked.  First ones in and seated.  Drink order was taken as soon as we were seated, then the meal order was taken.  It took over 15 minutes to get our food.  To a person, everyone said their food was barely warm.  The service was only lukewarm as well.  Bad day.

Great for the price. I love going here for the Boonie Burger! Best burger in town. They have a nice bar area in the back for watching the games as well.

Good Friday night catfish. Last stop here was on a Friday. Tried catfish and we were well pleased. Was plenty of food. And Blue Bell after. In other visits, have had a burger and CFS. Not had a bad meal here.

Good family restaurant. The five of us took in a little Daniel Boone's one Sunday afternoon after seeing and hearing numerous advertisements for it over the past year. The theme of the restaurant is loosely based upon the old 1950's Daniel Boone TV show, complete with a log-cabin look-and-feel and silly signs such as, "On this spot in 1890, nothing happened." I'd say Daniel Boone's most-closely resembles Judge Roy Beans or Cotton Patch, for those of you visiting from larger communities.

For an appetizer, we started out with the chips and fresh-made salsa, which was just right; a little spicy, but not enough to overtake the rest of your meal. Then, we were told about the 'bean bar' where they have a pot of beans-with-beef and another that's beans-with-pork. Both were very tasty. If I had it to do over again, I would've passed up the chips and salsa (at $3.99) and just gone with the beans.

For lunch, my oldest and I went with the cheeseburger. They were a good size, big enough that I took half home for supper, and each came with side of fries. The vegetables were good, likewise for the buns, and, overall, the burger is worthy of having again someday. My youngest son went with the BLT. I'm guessing it was pretty good because I barely got a look at it before it was gone. My daughter went with the chicken rings from the children's menu. No picky eating for her! She ate a good bit of it...even knowing ice cream was forthcoming. My wife went with the stuffed baked potato. It was delicious. I know this because I had half of it with my burger for supper that night.

If you saved any room at all, Daniel Boone's welcomes you to their Ice Cream bar, full of self-serve buckets of Blue Bell. The perfect finish to a family-friendly meal.

With a tip, we threw down $52.....more than I'd want to spend on a family meal. If I'd avoided the chips and salsa and gotten water for all five of us, we probably could've dropped $10 off the bill.

But, overall, Daniel Boone's was a pleasant experience and one of the more family-friendly places we've visited in East Texas so far. We'll be back!

Good Experience and Different. The food and service are both good. Menu is nicely varied. Bean and ice cream bar...free! What a Country. Seriously, from the outside (read "location") it doesn't like as inviting as it is from just inside the door. Go and enjoy!

'Amazing' is the first word that comes to mind when I think of Daniel Boone's! This place is my number #1 favorite restaurant. They are family owned and just celebrated their 20th anniversary of being open in Tyler. The decor is well done and always makes me smile. There are several funny quotes and sayings scattered about. I have always had good servers and service. Prices are very good for the amount of food you get. And my most favorite part of this place is not the super amazing food but the ALL YOU CAN IT BLUE BELL ICE CREAM AND BEANS. No other place I know has this. I highly recommend this place to everyone. Clean, friendly and great food.

Great service, Great food! Highly recommend the Kentucky Pig. I have ordered it twice, fried. Absolutely love it, highly recommend. My daughter got the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich, said it was too hot (spicy), however the onion rings were great. Free beans and ice cream included with every meal.

Great food and a very friendly staff. Doesn't look like much from.the outside but you won't be disappointed the moment you walk inside. Whether eating in the restaurant or sitting at the bar, the service is very good. Plenty of choices on the menu from wings to steaks. Great atmosphere in the Tavern. Morgan is the best bartender on East Texas! Check out the happy hour drink specials. Don't forget about the free beans and free ice cream!! Check out karaoke night on Thursday.

Chicken fried steak was good, taters were runny, the free chili beans and ice cream are a nice treat too. Also the fried catfish is one of the best in town.

Good prices, large portions on entrees. Side salad was tiny. Onion rings were not worth the upcharge, like 5 rings and slightly overcooked. Free chili beans/pinto beans. Humongous hamburger. Large beers. Excellent ambience. We sat ourself and it took a little while to get anyone's attention but after that service was good. Definitely worth trying it.

We tried this place for the first time today and glad we did. Our waitress was so sweet and it felt like home. We told her it was our first time, asked what she suggested and ordered it on the spot. Their chicken friend steak was delicious! It tasted like it came out of my grandmas kitchen! We loved the food and all around family aspect. Cannot wait to come back!
