If you ever wondered what an "authentic great family-owned, local Italian restaurant" entry in an encyclopedia would look like, well it's this place. Wow! Great food, large food and wine selection, and excellent service. The veal chops were amazing!

Da Domenico is the best red sauce italian restaurant in Northern Virginia. Over the past few months, I've managed to work my way through most of the menu, and I have thouroughly enjoyed doing so. I haven't had a single thing that I wasn't tempted to lick my plate after finishing. One thing: lunch is the best time to go. In my experience, portions are exactly the same size as dinner, a few bucks cheaper, and they come with a house salad. Was mildly disappointed to realize that house salads at dinner are an additional $5. The agnolotti caprese is one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had, tender ravioli-like pasta stuffed with buffalo mozzarella and served in a sauce of white wine, garlic, tomato, basil, and butter. My mother claims these are some of the best meat ravioli shes had, and rarely orders anything else. Overall, Da Domenico is really underrated and while the atmosphere is somewhat stuffy, the food is most certainly not

This is a good traditional Italian restaurant which reminds me of similar placer in New Jersey. Looks like nothing special outside but inside is a vey different story. The food is good and the service is good. It is a traditional place so consider business casual attire or very nice casual clothes at least. Could be a romantic place if you are looking for a quiet one on one meal. Ask for a booth in the back to impress your family and friends.

Although the restaurant was literally empty when we went, the food was still very good!! It was a little bit more expensive than the food I’m used to (as a broke graduate student), and the waiters really seemed to push getting appetizers and desserts on us, but the food was tasty and we had a good time. I had the eggplant Parmesan, which was divine. The spaghetti on the side was perfectly al dente and the waiter even brought over a big bowl of Parmesan to sprinkle on top. There was also some fabulous bread, one of which seemed to be like a garlic bread roll? That one was so good. The other bread was also very tasty - it was crusty and soft - and I used it to sop up the remaining sauce from my dish.

Amazing food! A must try place! Calamari was crispy outside, soft inside and not chewy. Entree was great as well, we had lamb shank, chicken Marsala, Shrimp spaghetti, Salmon. After eating all this we had Tiramisu(must have) and Dark chocolate mousse cake.

Staff here are wonderful, and the food is amazing. A real special treat. I'm a real burrata fan and was excited to see a burrata, tomato and basil salad. It was delicious, but the real star of the night was the pasta with scallops. The scallops were so tender and delicious. There were five huge scallops that would satisfy the heartiest of appetites.

Food is very good. The building is a little hard to find and in need of renovation. Started with the Caprese salad and had the lobster ravioli and the special of seafood pasta. All our food was fresh and well prepared.

Still a nice place, but not quite up to their pre-covid standards. Their desserts are wonderful, though.

I don't go usually go there but when I do, the service and the food is always great. The price, food, and service match up. I go there for the lasagna.

Da Domenico, Love this place! Outrageously good Italian restaurant. The food and the kind & thoughtfully service is better than I can describe here. There are romantic curtain swagged booths in the back of the main dining room. There's a cool bar area with tables. Also 2 areas that can be very private, although they technically are not 'private' almost everywhere you sit feels private. It's the ambience and attentive service that makes it feel so. I've been going since their opening in the early 80's. Highly recommend the giant marinated veal chop if you like a nice meat, they're famous for this veal chop. If you are craving some scrumptious seafood or fish, you will be more than happy with any of the choices. Actually, in the over 30 years going there, alone or with any number of guests I've never once been unhappy with the food or the very attentive people there. Didn't realize that I can leave a rating here until now! They are rated 5 stars by many food critics! It's true : D Easy ⛤⛤⛤⛤⛤!

Classic 5-star Italian dining experience. Excellent selections of food and wines. Expert service that will allow you to dine at your own pace. Our party of seven enjoyed a three hour dinner, receiving just the right amount of attention. Surprisingly, and sadly, none of us had room to even sample from their sumptuous dessert menu. The calamari was spectacular, as was the linguine with seafood.

The food was wonderful. I had the eggplant parmesan and it hit the spot. The staff is also really friendly and helpful. The only issue seems to be the ambiance. The building is in disrepair and we were the only group in the restaurant at the time, which was a Tuesday at 7pm. If you want a quiet place to enjoy some good Italian and you don't mind lame decor and water damaged ceilings, you can't go wrong here.

Excellent food, good low key atmosphere, and not too crowded. The homely exterior doesn't give justice to what it feels like to be in the place, which feels like a fine restaurant. The service is excellent, food prepared very professionally, and the Italian vibe feels authentic. This is a standard fancy spot for my family going back a while for a good reason. Highly recommended.

I've only been here twice but both experiences were top notch! I made a special request and both times they were happy to accommodate. Every single plate that came to our table was pure perfection! My only complaint is I wish i lived closer so I could come more often! Definitely treat yourself to this place, its worth every cent and more!

Some if the most authentic tasting Italian food I've had aside from my Grandma's. Price is decent ($14 for 9 ravioli and a side salad during lunch) and staff was more than friendly. Definitely will be back.

When our group arrived the ambiance made me feel like I was in Italy. They escorted us to a booth with curtains. Every single employee greeted us with a smile. We couldn't decide on what wine to get, so Pablo (a wonderful, smiling server) decided to bring us 3 bottles of wine to test. We tasted all three and all agreed that his primary suggestion was the one we all liked as well. We laughed and ate until 11:30PM and realized that all the other patrons in the restaurant had left for the night. But we were not made to feel like this was in any way an imposition. I had the lasagne and everyone in our party agreed the food was delicious. I'd love to go back again. (Note: The roads getting there are tricky. One wrong turn and it is hard to get back. But, it is well worth it. You won't be sorry.)
