Bread Co. is an amazing spot for breakfast, lunch AND dinner! <3 <3 <3 The breakfast sandwiches are all delicious on fresh baked bread (seriously they make fresh bread every day!) Lunches are great with soup/sandwich/salad combos and fresh bakery items. The french onion soup is TO DIE FOR I'M SERIOUS. The salad ingredients are all super fresh and also delicious! The dinners are also amazing!!! Great date spot or place for a nice dinner. The fondues are insane, especially because their breads are made in house and are DELICIOUS. All the dinner entrees are so good and they also have super good pizzas! In the summer you can sit at tables outside and enjoy a glass of wine. <3

My boyfriend and I went here last night for date night. The atmosphere was wonderful. Good location. Excellent food. I highly recommend the crab cakes and cheese fondue. Thank you Cheyenne for giving us a great and wonderful first experience here. We will definitely be back again.

We love the Bread Company, especially their bread! We drive from Normal several times a yr, just to buy bread and have lunch. Today, Victoria was especially sweet. Not only did she serve us well, but she was kind enough to take a group photo! Thank you, Victoria, Aleks and the Bread Company :)

Only place in C-U where you can get freshly baked classic and specialty breads, pastries, and fondue. They also have a varied selection of wines and beer, gourmet pizzas, fresh salads and interesting sandwiches and entrees. Underrated and, fortunately for its fans, a bit overlooked.

The steak and eggs you had on the special menu for brunch today was amazing. Please let that be something that stays on the menu!

This is a HIDDEN GEM. It seriously is. 💎 The building its in may seem unassuming. But don’t let that scare you away! This has byfar the BEST sandwiches in all of the Champaign-Urbana area! And the best part of it is that it’s WALKING DISTANCE from the campus (it’s 2 blocks from the main quad). I highly recommend the #19 - the Chicken sandwich (it’s a warm sandwich). The bread and aoili hugging the chicken is absolutely delicious and mouthwatering. It also fills you up, despite it not being that big of a sandwich. Service has been immaculate everytime, as is the atmosphere inside and out (there is outdoor seating in the spring and summer). I will be back of course! ❤️🥪

Delicious food and cool atmosphere. Workers were friendly. Lunch is for the sandwiches and dinner for the pizzas and pastas. Would highly recommend going at any time!

Great food, great service, and great hospitality. The restaurant has a very laid-back atmosphere and is easily my go-to spot whenever I'm on the Urbana side of campus. Prices are justified for the quality of the food and atmosphere. Plenty of options for pretty much everyone, including vegetarians + vegans. Edit, 11/27/2023: came here for lunch today, and the line was so long that it was out the door. As a side product, however, patrons kept holding the door open, letting the 30° F air from outside continuously spill into the restaurant, making for a somewhat uncomfortable experience. Not going to change my rating cause it's not the restaurant's fault, but could they possibly tell people to stop holding the door open?

The second this sandwich hit my table it was so aromatic. I was amazed by how good it was! Best spot on campus for lunch hands down. I appreciate all the vegetarian options too! Service was also super friendly and quick despite the lunchtime rush.

Great service, amazing food. Ordered a Cheese Steak Sandwich with the Rosemary Potato beef soup. Absolutely recommend. Nice hardy meal. The only off thing is that the floors and tables are a little sticky. Other than that amazing service amazing food! Definitely recommend!

A friend and I went for a meal a few months back and while the pizza was very, very good, I was shocked at how much the ambiance had changed. I understand that things have changed post-Covid but before the pandemic, I remember the fireplace being on, candles on the tables warmth, delicious smells and splitting fondue pots with friends and watching the snow fall outside and the magic is gone. We went around 5pm and it was very dark in the restaurant, no music, no one was there. Every time I wanted a new glass of something, I had to pay for each one individually and keep getting up again and again from my table. I just wanted to sit down and enjoy my meal. The selection of wines has diminished greatly. While the food was excellent, I partly went for the ambiance and I have to admit that I was disappointed. I sincerely hope that the owner does not chew me out on here but that is my honest opinion.

Was in town on business and stopped here. It was a really funky and cute place to eat and the food was really good. Had the 18 combo. The beef was delicious. The mustard and cheese really punched it up. The salad was very well dressed and really good. I ate all but 3 bites because I was just too full.

Good food. AMAZING streak bruschetta! Juicy and well cooked. Ambience is decent, I liked the low-key music playing. Only thing I didn't like was that the plates and seasoning looked kinda old. You had to pick seasonings up yourself from one single counter. If it's crowded, it'd not be well managed.

Has a nice rustic vibe with an assortment of unique sandwiches and other plates. This most recent visit, I tried their French onion soup, which was delicious.

The baked French onion soup alone is worth a visit, but the cozy environment made it easy to relax and stay awhile. Delicious pizza options and small plates to suit everyone in your party. Ingredients were fresh and staff were friendly and fast. I didn’t save enough room to try the Roma pasta, but I will be back for it!

Well, what can I say about the Bread Company? Well I would tell you through interpretive dance, but unfortunately that is not an option on google reviews. So words will have to do. This place...has some high quality food, high quality staff and is very quick! I've never had a bad meal there, whether it be lunch or dinner. Their specials are the real showstopper too. The picture I have included, is of a Lamb Sandwich (I call it a Lamb Sam). It was incredible and would be a fine choice for a last meal for a person on death row or something. But other than that, there really isn't anything bad to say about this restaurant. The homemade bread is great, with plenty of varieties and sizes. The baked goods are amazing too. Cookies, chocolate croissants, sweet rolls, and plenty more. I want to try them all! The staff is always super friendly and efficient! So yeah If I could go get lunch there today I would!

Place that is known for its Fondue and Deserts - The Bread Company! We ordered the Classic Cheese Fondue - the dish contains White Wine as mentioned on the menu, but later got to know that it is cooked in White Wine as the taste of fondue was initially dominated by wine but it got better with time and more heat. It was served with fresh bread and potatoes which on their own tasted great. Overall enjoyed the Fondue experience. We also ordered the Capri Salad and Spinach Pesto Pasta - both the dishes tasted decent and the portions served were less for the price. Otherwise, the ambience of this place is really welcoming and romantic, overlooking a less busy street of Urbana. Looking forward to visit next time especially to try their entrees and desserts.

My favorite restaurant in Urbana. The authentic Swiss cheese and bread are sure to draw your attention. The classic cheese fondue served with a side of bread and potatoes is great. Baked Goat Cheese Marinara is easily one of their top-notch dishes, especially if you are a fan of classic cheese and marina basil Neapolitan pizza flavors, however replace the mozzarella with freshly picked goat cheese here. Amongst vegetarian entrees, fettuccine alfredo and spaghetti in marinara sauce are a complete delight. DO NOT MISS THE DESSERTS! Their house special chocolate mousse is out of the world both in taste and presentation with just the right amount of sugar. If you're in Urbana, a must visit. With a cozy fireplace and overlooking windows, you feel like you are in a cafe at Switzerland.

The Bread Company is a locally-owned business that besides the delicious entrees for breakfast, lunch & dinner, also makes an amazing assortment of European-quality breads. One of my favorite items in the menu is the one pictured in the photo: #14 Portobello with brie & raspberry aioli.

There was a line out the door, so that was a good sign. Place order at the counter, very welcoming and attentive. We had a warm and cold selection, cheese steak, so delish. Couldn't decide on egg or tuna salad and was quickly accommodated with a half of both. Impressed with the offer during a very busy lunch hour. Thank you! French onion soup, exceptional. All the sandwiches had great flavor, bread is delicious, very fresh accompaniments. The place has character, really enjoyed our lunch. We will return. One suggestion, perhaps utilize the area along the front windows as an order line switchback queue to lessen the number of patrons who have to stand outside, especially during adverse weather conditions.

The casual bistro tucked away on Goodwin is a hidden gem. A great place for a date or grab something to go for lunch if you're busy. I definitely swing by once a week as I frequent the campus often for lunch. There lunch menu consists of sandwiches, hot and cold, salads and quick bites. As their dinner menu offers more upscale fare like pizzas, crab cakes and charcuterie cheese plates. I definitely recommend for a nice dinner date with wine and try the shared plates. I would recommend going early as they get busy on the weekends. Great for a meal if you're catching an event at The Krannert Center.
