We ate on the patio, and the bugs and flies were obnoxious! But there was great music playing in the background. The waiter was fantastic, checking on us frequently, and making great suggestions on beer. He was entertaining, and kept us laughing. I ordered the NY Strip Dreak, which was fantastic! It came with a big heaping serving of mashed potatoes. They were dry and flavorless, amd I wished it had come with some sort of gravy. But it was definitely worth the price!
My friend had the Rack of Lamb, which she was very impressed with. The presentation was fantastic on that meal! She also ordered the Creme Brulee which was also delicious. Oh, and she ordered a side of gnocchi, which was fantastic!

This place is by far my most favorite place to go for a relaxing night out! The food is always impeccable and the staff goes above and beyond to ensure your visit is memorable. Tonight we had the most amazing fish fry, bruschetta salad and honey salmon. Everything was excellent and anyone who has an issue with this place should re-evaluate because they always deliver class!

Ordered $140 worth of takeout meals and somewhat enjoyed only one meal. The rest were flavorless and either overcooked or undercooked. The sauce they gave us appeared be unprepared and as if they just opened the cans of tomatoes and served it to us. The chicken riggies barely had any meat or olives or any other veggies that are supposed to come with this dish.
I contacted the owner and informed him. He mailed us a $30 gift card. Tonight, we used it to order a $20 fish fry. The fish was small in size, very thin, and loaded with panko breadcrumbs. It was dry and hard as a rock...inedible. Furthermore, they didn't include the slaw or tartar sauce. The shrimp cocktail was even dry.
My fiance drove a total of 20 miles round-trip to take the food back to show them what they were serving their customers, and even after explaining that this had put a damper on our date night at home without kiddos, the owner only gave him a $20 gift card. Next to offensive...
We worked a long hard week and looked forward to a good fish fry...we got a fish made of rock and an insult. Never eating there again.

Traveling through for work. Super cute and clean! Everyone was very friendly. Service was great. The patio is adorable, but I sat at the bar since I didn't have reservations and it really didn't matter to me where I sat. My drink was strong and the food was delicious. I got 2 Utica staples, the greens and chicken riggies. Yummm

This place is simply amazing! My friends and I go here to celebrate birthdays or just a Friday night! The drinks (dirty martinis especially) and food are always on point and the service is impeccable! As someone in the restaurant business it's not always easy to find a place that has great food and staff but Ancora is it and is always my first choice when asked where to go!

Pan seared scallops were the best we've had! Service was great! Atmosphere was great! Hot & Dirty Martini.....OMG! Ancora's Paella....spicy deliciousness! Our only concern is why on Earth we haven't gone here before! We will definitely be back!!!

One of my all time favorite restaurants, my favorite dish is the filet, but truly have never had a bad meal! I love the pasta and peas with prosciutto also! Great atmosphere, great service, always recommend Ancora!

I was there on Saturday had the special Gorgonzola crusted Ny strip that was so delicious, and the Bananas Foster crepe was everything. We had the best waitress who sang happy birthday to me. Can’t wait to come back.

Ancora is always a great experience. The cocktails are perfect, the greens cooked to perfection (not over cooked, overly moist, & not too much breading to soak up whatever), I ordered the Bistro style Chicken and it wa me excellent- juicy & tender. The flavor/seasoning was great. The potatoes were really good-the flavor excellent- would've like them a bit crisp but they were still good. I ordered tiramisu for dessert. It was a nice light ending to a large meal. The chocolate ice cream was A++. Definitely one of my favorite places to go to. It's actually probably "my" first choice!
My husband always orders paella and loves it. We also ordered calamari which was great although I prefer it slightly seasoned more - but others in my group prefer it this way. It's still certainly amazing.
Service was a little slower than usual but it was New Year's Eve and rather busy. It's a bit noisy and seating a bit crowded but it won't keep me from going there.

I was there with a party of 10 Saturday evening. The food was delicious, & the service was spectacular! Not one complaint from the entire party! Drinks, appetizers, entreés & desserts...and the water glasses never got close to empty! Great experience!

Soooo super happy with our experience here. Bartender did a great job on drinks, had salads for appetizers and they were so good we will be dreaming of them. Had a minor complication trying to meet a dietary restriction/allergy but the owner came right over and immediately helped us figure something out- and it was fantastic and met the restrictions perfectly. Our waitress and bus boy did a fantastic job at taking care of us. Super happy and can not wait to come back!

Everything is made with the freshest ingredients & never disappoints! I love the shrimp & calamari over risotto. It comes in a cast iron pan which makes the first bite just as warm as the last! Our favorite dessert is the homemade chocolate, Nutella & strawberry crepe that’s big enough for 2 people to share! Keep up the great work Ancora! We’ll be back soon! 👍🏻

It was the service that got us! Before we even reached the door we could see Siobhan, menus in hand, great big smile, just waiting to greet us and help us feel like we walked in to our home away from home. Serena, too, helpful, attentive, engaging. We asked to be seated at the bar and entered into an evening of taste bud bliss. Tapas and wine, nibbles of goodness, delicious salad and memorable company. Warm, casual, classy. The ideal find on a snowy Utica evening. So grateful to have landed here. Serena and Siobhan ~ thank you for making a lasting personal connection.
