I have never actually gone into Roma's. It's usually someone had bought their tomato pie and would have it at a party. But today I went for the first time and 1. They were very friendly and 2. the tomato pie is the best I've ever tasted. 3. I ordered a large and it was far bigger than I expected. Actually the small that I also ordered was the size of a large at any other pizza place lol. I plan on being a regular customer bcuz I love Italian food.

This was was voted favorite tomato pie at the 2018 Tomato Pie Day in Utica, NY Sat 4/07/18. We arrived at the Parkway Recreation Center at 12:00pm and already people were lining up to taste and vote for their favorite tomato pie. Note: Tomato pie is similar to pizza but has only three ingredients: dough, tomato sauce, and grated cheese. These were the participants:

• Tony’s of Washington Mills
• Utica Bread
• Charlie’s Pizza
• Oliveri’s Pizza
• Guiseppe’s Bakery
Roma's tomato pie was the clear winner in our group. Zesty, deep tomato flavor, excellent chewy crust, and just the right amount of grated parmesan cheese. Also we shared the meatball, sausage & peppers, piece of Italian bread boat for lunch. A great value at only $2.00. In a city with a long tradition of excellent Italian food, Roma's is the place to go in Utica, NY for sausage and tomato pie. Note: You must order pies in advance. A personal note to Roma's owners, the highest compliment I can give you is that your tomato pie is as excellent as Perreca's from hometown of Schenectady, NY. And that is the gold standard for red tomato pie. Salute Roma!

We visited the area from Buffalo and stopped for tomato pie, stuffed shells, sauce and greens. Loved every bite!
