WOW!!!!! A hidden gem near The Nut Tree Shopping Center in Vacaville on the West Bound Side of I-80. This place has been open since 1970 and still going strong. I have past by it for 21 years, but decided to finally try. All I can say is, "what took me so long?" I had the Chili Verde and my wife had Shredded Beef Chimichangas. The Rice, flavorful, the refried beans, smooth.

Delicious. The food here is always good. The chicken nachos serving size to go is much smaller than when we dine in, other than that love this restaurant. Excellent service and food!!! The family has been here for 50 years. Two locations one by The Nut tree. This is the one by Fosters freeze. Apparently they are moving to Dixon

Always delicious food at a reasonable price. Even packaged up the nacho toppings separately so the chips did t get soggy in the way home. I stop here any time I come through Vacaville.

Absolutely my favorite Mexican food restaurant! Prices are reasonable, service is always good and plenty of parking. They have 2 outdoor patios so you almost always can sit outside and enjoy the beautiful California weather. I highly recommend the Taco Salad with Prawns. They are generous with their portions and there's free refills on drinks so go ahead and enjoy the hot sauces! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! :D

If it's not The Black Oak Rest, Nut Tree or old Onion smell from Basic Foods back in the day, Vacaville has been known for its staple of Mexican Restaurants, one being Murillos. I been patron since 1986. Very good, tasty food! Excellent service and plenty of seating! Pork Burrito and chicken tostada with lots of hot and mild red sauces. Pacos special is Bomb, chili verde plate. Local, passing thru or visiting, murrilos is place to try or revisit

I've been going Murillo's for a long time. It's hard to believe the consistency of how well the food tasted. Paco's Special was and still is my favorite. We had a group of 15 and everyone's food looked terrific. Everyone was pleased with the service and taste of their food. The service was great and food reasonably priced. This establishment serves mixed drinks, wines and 🍺 beer on tap. One of our favorite places to go!

Have gone to Old Murillio's since the late 70's and nothing taste better then the Paco... but lately it's been the pits, I have been paying extas to get some chicken in it, and then only to arrive and the enchilada sauce to taste like someone one's forgot to add the seasonings to it.. At this point I would add some of the mild salsa, but even that lacked the usual flavor. Murillo's, whats going on????

It hasn’t changed in 10 years. It is Mexican food for white people who want a special night out from Taco Bell (and who think Taco Bell is excellent) Seriously this place has a menu that has pictures of hideously bland food and it doesn’t disappoint. For the serious connoisseur who wouldn’t know a chimichanga from shinola.

The service was excellent, Jill was very attentive to my food allergy, she was very personable and just a wonderful waitress. The food was delicious, I had the fish tacos and my friend had the enchilada. I will definitely recommend this place to my friends and I'll be back when I visit vacaville again

Very bland, portions were fair, but not what I expected for the money. Ordered Carne Asada Fajitas...1st time I've received fajitas on my plate and not on a sizzling hot plateďż˝. No taste and only warm. I've been here back in the 90's when I lived here before and enjoyed the food and service, not going back.

I just ate here yesterday for the first time and was not impressed. There was no flavor at all. The steak fajitas came on a regular plate and not a skillet. The tortillas were super thin and hard. The tamale I had was horrible and the salsa (the non hot one) tasted like Campbell’s tomato soup. The chips were also not very good. I will not be returning!

I have eaten here several times. I not sure what happened to the food. I ordered a chimichinga and the meat tasted spoiled. Super gross. The waitress never came by so we had to go to the front and ask for her. By then I was just sick to my stomach. They did take it off the bill but my date night was ruined. Won't be returning

The coffee filter used for the chips, the canned tomato base for the salsa, the ketchup thick Cocktail or the puréed avacado thinned out with some thing to stretch the Guacamole... not so much.
The chicken super nachos earned the second star, merely for the chicken not the canned nacho cheese and canned jalapeños.
What happened to this place?
We used to love It, a lot has changed.

We have always loved Murillo's but on Cinco de Mayo it seemed they watered down everything. The salsa and the refried beans were so runny that it was like eating baby food. The chicken enchilada was extremely skimpy. Was really disappointed!

Very mediocre. Went here with a family of 7 and none of us enjoyed our food. Salad tasted like plastic, burritos had more cheese than meat. However, their water was probably the best part of the meal.

I do not know why this place is voted best in Vacaville. I am a foodie and love to go out to eat. I have tried many restaurants and this one doesn't even compare to the hole in the walls that I have been to. The food is almost bland and it's so over priced not to mention it says it's a a Mexican restaurant yet there is nothing Mexican about it. Never again will I subject my taste buds to this.

Not Close to Authentic Mexican. My wife and I were on our way back home to the Sacramento area after a day trip to the Bay Area. We were hungry and both Jons'n for some Mexican food. We figured Vacaville should have a great selection of Mexican places…and they do indeed! How do we choose? We saw a mobile review for this place stating not your "Americanized" menu. I told my wife that was it, DONE! Bad choice. The food was ok, but exactly Americanized was the only way to describe it. No Carnitas, Mole, Chile Colorado, Carne Asada, Bistec, Menudo, Posole, etc. It was chalk full of tacos, burritos, chimichangas, enchiladas, but they did have Chile Verde which is what I chose and it was ok. Nothing to write home about, but when you consider the quality for $15 at lunch just for my plate with rice and beans I do not consider that a value. Furthermore, $2.50 for a soda with one refill only my wife and I walked out of there for $40 for 2 plates, 2 sodas and that's it! That was enough for me, and they will not get our business again. The folks were nice, and the service was ok, but I can think of many places to spend $40 that would kick butt all over this place and many taquerias that would wipe the floor with Murillos and for half the price!

Got the Paco's Special (pictured above) and loved it. Generous portion--I took half home. The hot (temperature) sauce tasted like pizza sauce, but the hot (spicy) sauce was excellente!

A hometown favorite. Not your "Americanized" Mexican restaurant, but has the simplistic traditional menu with plenty of flavors to satisfy. Excellent margaritas.
