Driving south on I-75 we researched places to eat lunch and loved that Venice AleHouse had great selection of craft beers and Greek food. We pulled over and had a great luncheon of Spanakopita with a Greek salad. My hubby had Chicken Bacon Ranch sandwich and Pernicious IPA. We were both happy travelers!! Great food and great service
First time diner at Venice Ale House. Our group tried dining here in early Oct 2022, just after hurricane IAN. We promised to be back. Eight of us dined on 11-1-23. I think we were overwhelming for them. We were there 2 full hours. Patrons coming in after us ordered a soup + fish N chips received their meal and were long gone when we dining. I went with the Italian grinder with extra mayo. Didn't get any and couldn't get her attention. The portions were large. 3 of us got Euro's and seemed to enjoy. They have a good following of people. I will try again
This place is AWESOME!!!! As soon as we walked in the door, we were greeted by a blonde lady in the bar doing a concert, and the audience was boisterous and cheerful.
Lots of craft beer options, and a varied menu. My boyfriend and I spit a gyro platter that was enough for maybe 3-4 people!
We drove about 45min here and will definitely return.
Fabulous food and fast, friendly service. I can’t say enough good things about this lovely little pub and restaurant.
Love this place. Very laid back and comfortable. The food is great. Especially the fish. This is my go to spot for great food and strong drinks. Make sure to ask for the Greek Fries. Awesome desserts too.
Clearly a neighborhood favorite, this was our first visit...Deanna was fantastic (server) and welcomed us warmly providing information on the specials and answering our questions. Dinner was delicious but I will have to let you know about the desserts later ( we took some to go). I had the trio combo and it was delicious as was my husband's peasant salad with gyro meat added.
Very cute place and a great Gem for Florida. We are from NY where Greek food is Stellar and this was the best we've had so far in Florida.. waiter was great and owner gave kids cookies, came out and asked them if they had fun while here then showed us the bird in the other room.. Truly Great place..
My first experience with VAH was via takeout which my brother ordered for me. Enjoying it well enough, my bride and I revisited it on Christmas Eve. I liked the atmosphere. It is somewhat of a sports bar and pub and restaurant and diner all rolled in one.
The staff was very friendly and polite. All that walked by said hello or asked how everything was. Impressive.
My bride asked to sample a beer before ordering and our server obliged. We ordered our beers and meals and waited, able to talk or watch the various televisions mounted high up for everyone to see.
My bride order the gyro and I
Ordered the Philly cheese steak sandwich with fries.
Without getting into too much detail, our food was really good and we had zero complaints. Will I return? Likely, I just do not know when as we live in the Midwest. However, we still have 5 days left and I am tempted to go back and try the Black Forest chocolate cake. It looked fabulous. And the prices were reasonable.
Great little place in a plaza just off 41. If you are not looking for it you would miss it. We stopped in and picked our car up at Hertz and had some dinner here. We had the gyro and moussaka and both were delicious. Great pricing and service. We will definitely be back :)
Had my ‘big’ birthday party catered by Venice Ale House. I cannot say enough about how pleasant the experience was. I went in and told owner Deb that I wanted a ‘no fuss’ experience and she made it happen. Guests loved the gyros, spanakopita, Greek salad the most. My favorite was the hummingbird birthday cake. Food was plentiful and reliably set up. Thanks Deb and chef Andreas.
Last night my husband and I went to Venice Ale House for the first time. The food was so fresh and delicious! Chicken Kabab was the best I have ever had. Greek Salad was perfect! Valerie our waitress was extremely friendly as well as the hard working owner Debbie! Thank you for a great experience.
Such yummy food!! We got the Greek fries and WOW! Layers of flavor😋 and the gyro was absolutely delish!!
We are from Ontario Canada and ate supper here yesterday. We all were blown away by the food and very attentive service. We ordered family style and so tried the lamb shank, spanakopita, octopus, mousaka and Greek peasant salad. Everything was flavourful and beautifully presented in large platters. Debbie, the owner sat with us at the end of the evening, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!!! Bravo to all the staff!
VAH checks all of the boxes in a one amazing location. The selection of beers and quality of food is top notch. There’s a convenient parking lot just kiddy corner so parking is easy. I always make an effort to stop here whilst I’m in Venice
Do yourself a favor folks check this place out. I've never seen such a clean grill/kitchen fantastic food, great atmosphere. Probably the best local hangout there is. And I have to add my wife swore by the clamchowder on Siesta Key name with held, her words the best claim chowder ever. There is a huge difference between a place that is a tourist trap and a place that is here for everyone. Again try them out I promise you won't be sorry. 2nd visit Philly cheese steak all I can say is awesome. Next visit will be fish fry or wings.
This is a more local oriented restaurant and bar but it is a great place for just about any occasion. Feels very casual, has a nice balance of a bar and restaurant atmosphere, and the food is great! The bartenders and expediters are both very friendly and the Greek food is as good as any in the area. I would highly recommend it for anyone visiting Venice.
Oh my gosh! Best Greek food in years. We shared the Meze platter and got to try everything. Amazing!! So much food. Delicious.
This is the type of place that you drive by a million times without noticing or thinking about. Which is a shame because everything was very good. Solid Greek food.
While the exterior won't grab your attention, the heart of this little bar and Greek restaurant will.
Top-notch food, fine alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and great service make this place a sure bet as long as you're not demanding extremely elegant surroundings.
My wife and I enjoyed the Greek platter, which had plenty of moussaka, spanokopita, gyro meat, flatbread, stuffed grape leaves, green salad, hummus, tzatziki, and two delicious baklava. It was plenty for two, and at a very sensible price. My wife drank a "Relaxer" cocktail, which I had a sip of: a rich, tropical variety of beverage carrying notes of fruitand coconut. I tried the twenty ounce Golden Road Mango Cart Wheat Ale, which was a bright and fruity variety of wheat beer.
The desserts on display all looked fantastic: Hummingbird cake, black forest, strawberry "tall" cake, baklava cheesecake and more
I'd make recommendations, but everything on the platter was excellent. For my part, I particularly enjoyed the spanokopita, moussaka, grape leaves and hummus.
The service here was some of the best I've experienced in a bit: Helpful, friendly, intelligent, and ready.
If you're in this area of Venice and have s taste for Greek, or just a little change of pace, then you really should drop by.
This place is awesome, my wife got the Greek style shrimp scampi, she loved it! I had the burger that was grilled a perfect medium and the fries were good as well! The service was awesome, very friendly and welcoming! It was like eating at yia yia's! Get the baklava, it was out of this world!
