Service was quick, Free chips and salsa were both really good, draft beer was well presented! Chose three on combo menu, all were substantial and delicious, cheese sauce on the tamal was outstanding! Lots of meat in each dish! Waitress was attentive but not too much, I will return and soon!
Great place to go to! The owners are always there when we go and very friendly. The Food is top notch and inside is not over done like a lot of Mexican restaurants. The girlfriend and I try to go atleast every other week if we can, to get our Mexican food fix.
Isel is the owner and runs the best Mexican Restaurant in Venice. Chicanos is always our “go to place” in Venice.
This place is one of my favorite places to eat. Great service. Now anyone can say that about many places. But this place make me feel like family. And their fish tacos are the best I've every had. Much respect for this place. I visit at least twice a month. Wish it was more!
We loved the fajitas with steak, the tacos were excellent. Everything had a great flavor and was cooked to perfection. Even the chips and salsa were wonderful and the dessert was Amazing! He
I have to say that after being housebound during Irma, we were anxious to go out for some food and drinks. Chicanos was one of the only places open on Monday, Sept 11. Although they were short staffed, we had friendly, great service, and the food and margaritas were amazing! Thanks for providing service to your community in the aftermath of a near disaster. We appreciate you! Your staff did a great job.

We were heading back to Miami from Tampa and stopped by coincidence in Venice. Drove around looking for a place to eat and came to Chicanos! Excellent food. Our waiter was super attentive. Loved it!!
Love the food, love the Sangria,,,ask Carlos to make it the way he does for his sister,,,it is great! Carlos is excellent, we recommend trying!

This place was so great. The service was very good here. I felt like it was a well kept place for the most part. The food here is so amazing though. They have some amazing tacos here. I feel like this is one of the better restaurants for Mexican style dishes in the area. I highly recommend this place.

Bright, festive and great place to go for authentic Mexican food! I especially enjoy eating in the bar area and admire the interesting southwest decor and sugar skulls. Check out Taco Tuesday for delicious soft or hard tacos, with several choices of fillings and rice or beans. And of course, chips and salsa!
Nice staff, food was good. Only complaint is I would want more chicken in my burrito but overall everything was tasty. The bathroom was clean, thats always a plus.

Excellent chips and salsa. We ordered the 3 dip sampler as an appetizer. The cheese dip, bean dip and guacamole dip were all great. The fajita chimichanga (steak) was excellent. My son ordered The Cowboy (steak) and was really happy with it. My other son ordered the Fajita Quesadilla (chicken) and thought it was great. Portions were generous and the food was served hot. Prices are reasonable and the service was good. Highly recommend.
We just finished our lunch, and it was delicious! It was a real treat to find authentic Mexican food in Venice. We're looking forward to our next visit to Chicano's and also plan to try their new restaurant up in Osprey when it opens.
Absolutely my favorite Mexican in Venice. Grab a seat at the bar and order a margarita!!! Alex the bartender is super nice!

This is the BEST Mexican restaurant in the area! I'm always introducing my friends to this place - and they love it, too! You really should try it.
I'm from San Diego so I'm use to good Mexican food, the simple Carne asada tacos were actually really good, guacamole was very fresh and homemade
Great food, service, and atmosphere. A good variety of meat and vegetarian items offered on the menu. Their salsa and chips are fantastic! My server, Jesus was very friendly and attentive. Limited outdoor seating. Plenty of parking and handicap accessible.
Delicious food Everytime I go here I have never been to a place that reminds me of warm Mexico with it's wonderful food and people I feel warms and welcome here anytime and would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a authentic Mexican restaurant because you won't find anything closer to home until you are in Mexico. we really loved the Shrimp Cocktail...hard to describe...came in a large goblet...steak burrito was excellent...my meal was so-so...Sammy, our server was spot on!...we will return...
Best meal I've ever had at a Mexican restaurant and totally unexpected, I've eaten here before and it's always been good and good margaritas but I sure wasn't expecting something similar to paella with all seafood and it was fantastic. But I don't remember the name of the dish.

Everything was made from scratch. Tiny restaurant in back of small Latino store.
Prices were great, as was the food. I had a chicken burrito, could only eat 1/2, it was so big.
Speciality is Tacos.
Limited menu, but not so limited that you can't find something you'd love.
Beer and sodas.
Wait staff takes care of store and restaurant seamlessly.
