Reasonably priced Vietnamese-inspired food, with an….interested theme 😅 perfect for take out or dine in The side pho was a perfect size as a side thing 👀 and the magnum rolls were soooooo big (but really it was hard to keep it together since there was so much stuffing and the additional crispy of a fried egg wrapper really put it over the top) The fully loaded bowls were also delicious but contained a bit more unexpected cilantro than desired for my partner which I don’t think we could have swapped out. We also got $5 gift cards from the staff for the delay on our meal (which wasn’t long at all honestly but I appreciated the gesture) and after I signed up for email, I got another $10 gift card so I guess I’m going back again really soon!

I had a magnum roll with shrimp and garlic, which I dip in peanut sauce. Very good, actually. If u are a light eater, this role will actually satisfy ur hunger. The veggie imperial rolls came out nice and hot good flavor. I dip in sweet Chili, which was quite stupid of me because I dont like spicy stuff too often. Switch to their vinaigrette, which hit the spot with the rolls. U really don't need sauce with the magnum nor imperial rolls. They are good by themselves. Then I had a bowl with vermicelli lemongrass and beef steak served cold, which I enjoyed, although the beef was a little tough. I haven't had Vietnamese food in years and forgot how good the cuisine is. I definitely would try this place again. It's a very small place, so limited seating.

Fresh, tasty, fair prices, friendly staff, easy ordering system (kiosk). What more could you ask for. They have captured the essence of street food and it's great

I am a big fan of the fully loaded bowl. It tasted so fresh and had great portions especially with the five spice chicken. The spicy peanut sauce was amazing and the siracha and hoisin packets added more flavor to an already great dish. I am coming back soon

My friends and I randomly stopped by for a quick bite before visiting the winter lantern festival. The kiosk was easy to use and the food was absolutely delicious! One of my friends is a bit of a picky eater and she couldn’t help but rave about the rice bowl she had for HOURS after. This little place is unassuming, but had the most flavorful Vietnamese food I’ve had in recent memory.

Excellent fast casual Vietnamese food. Easy to order and a great place to grab a quick meal. Is it the best, most authentic Viet food? No. It’s solid and hits the spot. Love the mural!

Very tasty pho and crispy imperial roll. I found this place in a local newspaper. I love Vietnamese food so I wanted to try it out. It didn't disappoint. My online order was ready when I got there.

came in on July 17th 2023 don’t have much to say about service since we ordered via the kiosk parking seemed to be a bit limited but we did park right in the front, i believe there may have been some parking in the back as well food was honestly delicious, I got the spring rolls (shrimp, beef, and grilled pork) and my husband got the oxtail pho that was noted as being limited edition or something like that flavors were absolutely amazing, portions were big so although the meal felt pricy it ended up being worth the cost in my opinion their soda fountains were down but that didn’t bother us as we already had drinks from home

I really really love their spring rolls here plus the sweet and sour sauce I can’t find anywhere in DC. The spring rolls are so good with the sauce they made (both peanut and fish sauce). The Pho is also good but I expect it to be a little more authentic. Try their Vietnamese coffee if you like sweet coffee.

Super friendly staff and great pho! clean interior and quick service. They have sriracha sauce in little packets instead of the bottle. A cool rare find- for me at least! Veggie friendly- I got the tofu pho and veggie spring rolls were crisp with yummy carrot and noodle inside. Will come again

I was out running errands, needed to grab lunch, and came across this highly rated spot. Now, Roll Play Grill markets itself as a Vietnamese Grill, but the owners and chefs have taken some license with certain dishes… and that’s fine by me. I entered the restaurant and was immediately welcomed by two of the employees. I had questions about the menu, asked for staff recommendations, and took some time to order. The staff member at the register was was very patient and super helpful. I was hungry, so I ordered a few thighs. I ordered the Signature Fully Loaded Bowl with chicken. This is essentially Bún Thịt Nướng. The ingredients were fresh and their house Vietnamese Vinaigrette was authentic and tasty. The ingredients were fresh and the chicken, albeit dry was flavorful. It’s a smaller portion, but with the two Imperial Rolls, it’s a nice size meal. I do wish the “bowl” this came in was bigger because mixing the ingredients without things falling out was impossible. I had the Triple D Imperial Rolls (chicken, pork, shrimp). They were freshly made and piping hot. They were small spring rolls, but has good flavor. I also ordered two Veggie Imperial Rolls (because they were free if you checked in on Yelp!) and they were equally fresh and tasty. The sweet chili sauce is the best dip for these rolls. I also ordered two Magnum Rolls, one with Honey Glazed Tofu and the other with Lemongrass Beef. They were perfectly made, that meaning fully loaded with delicious and fresh ingredients ingredients tightly rolled in chewy rice paper. The peanut and spicy peanut sauces are incredible condiments for the Magnum Rolls. These were so well balanced—creamy, savory, and slightly sweet. I could drink these sauces. While expensive at almost $4 each, they were satisfying… and those peanut sauces! Lastly, I had a side of the Ox Tail Bone Soup and it was unbelievably delicious. It was also piping hot, incredibly beefy and unctuous, with just a kiss of sweetness from the cinnamon and anise. It was a nice way to begin my meal and taking sips throughout lunch was a delightful experience. Roll Play Grill belongs to the Happy Endings Hospitality restaurant group. Daente, one of the employees was kind enough to deliver my food, check on me, get me another sauce, and gave me information about the Restaurant and other Happy Ending endeavors. They were very warm and welcoming.

Their vermicelli bowls are great, the meat is of good quality and has a lot of flavor. I wouldn't order pho here though. The broth is quite lacking.

Cliff notes Wedding reception - responsive to initial inquiry/subsequent emails and phone calls - fair pricing - timely, adequately staffed, and helpful - would recommend/10 Ashley and her team responded immediately after my wife and I emailed regarding our desire to hire Roll Play for our wedding reception. Ashley provided us with a price quote and a contract immediately after we hammered out the details. The quote was fair and she was helpful in the process (our guests were a mix of those who could eat beef and those who couldn't and also vegetarians. So we had to figure out logistics of how much and what kind of pho to order). On the day of the event they arrived early to prepare to set up (towards the end of the night since we hired them for that). We had a slight hick up with electrical wiring and power, but they were able to figure out a solution so things didn't get too delayed. All the guests loved the food! And on top of that at the end of the night Ashley and her team reserved each type of pho for my wife and I to have later on!!! Extremely thoughtful and appreciated!!! The wedding has quite a few hick ups because of the inadequacy and lack of coordination by our wedding planner (you can find my reviews for the planner on Yelp and wedding wire), but Ashley and the Roll Play team helped me temporarily forget that!! Would whole heartedly recommend them for any catering services. Pic included (I had oxtail broth pho and my wife had chicken).

This place has been consistent for years. A company I used to work at in Tyson’s used to order their catering often and that’s when I first discovered it. I haven’t been able to get it out of my brain since. Delicious, hot food. Great flavor, freshness. And super fast. Highly recommended!

Love this place! Another great restaurant of happy endings hospitality, their names are to talk about especially when we order lunch at work lol! This is one of the only places I would order spring rolls or here they call it imperial rolls. I don’t know what they do differently, maybe double fry it? But it is so good especially when I need to squeeze in a quick bite in between meetings. Their magnum rolls are HUGE! I love how you can also customize them and I like to put the pork belly in it. I also often get their spicy oxtail pho which is very flavorful which for me pho is all about the broth. I’ve only dined in here a couple of times but usually do take out or delivery since I live close by. When you go in, they have plenty of touch screens you can order from which is also very nice. There’s some parking spots in front of the store but also a parking garage but it’s small and can be annoying to deal with during busy times.

Great, fast, and delicious. I love that you walk in, order from a screen and they bring it right to you! If you get extra pork belly, make sure you stick it in the soup before you eat it, otherwise it's super dry.
