Lovely spot right on the water. The staff were wonderful - super enthusiastic and helpful :) Even some of the inside tables have harbor views. The carrots and oysters were great. The beet gnocchi was slightly single note in that the only flavor I tasted was beet. Recommend for anyone visiting :)

Incredible restaurant with friendly service, water front views, locally curated menu and handcrafted cocktails. We loved the carrots and brussel sprouts for apps. The poached halibut and rack of lamb were a favorite at our table. Highly recommend making reservations here if you're in the vineyard and having a drink or two on their beach area.

Food is amazing and Ari is very personable and patient with my father who was extremely interested in in-depth cultural conversations about foreign countries. Would 100% recommend - ask for Ari who may just be your best friend by the end of the meal!

We had an incredible dining experience on 7/4/23 at Garde East. The picturesque waterfront location with stunning views of the harbor never disappoints. The restaurant strives to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Even on a stormy/rainy night the staff went out of their way to accommodate our party of six. The menu features a variety of dishes inspired by seasonal/local ingredients prepared with creativity. The service was top notch, a special thank you to the manager, Kat & Sarah our server and the Meg the amazing bartender on staff that evening. You truly made our family night out special & memorable. Can't wait to visit you again.

We went to this restaurant during the July 4th Holiday Weekend this year and we had a very good experience, the service gave us the flavor of an owner-managed and served restaurant, we felt like part of the "family" which is not common nowadays. Food was very good, the atmosphere was a little bit quiet for me taste, although the place the location and the view was very nice. And as many things in Martha's and in Boston area lately, the menu is a little pricey but worth trying it for sure!

The restaurant is right on the bay front, quiet and awesome views. The ambiance is amazing. Halibut, steak and haddock were delicious. Kids menu available as well. Great service and drinks as well.

Probably the best outdoor dining setting on the Vineyard, and one of its finest restaurant. It’s the sister restaurant to “Rooftop at the G” in Providence, Rhode Island, where we dined on our way to the Vineyard, and where we learned about Garde East from our waitress. We dined on the upstairs deck, where the quiet bay provided a beautiful backdrop. The House Bread was delicious with honey butter. The Deviled Egg appetizer was delicious. I had the local bass, and my wife the chicken. Both were delicious. We tried both the decomposed Key Lime Pie and the Tiramisu. The Key Lime Pie was wonderful, and the Tiramisu was one of the best that we’ve ever had, with the perfect balance of taste, texture, and moisture. Our server was a gentleman who took terrific care of us. Hands down the best dining experience that we had on the Vineyard. It felt and tasted just right.

Great food and service. We had not made a reservation and they were accommodating. My husband and I shared the Steamed Mussels which were delicious. For the main course, my husband had the Pasta al Vongole which included Littleneck Clams, Cream of Chablis, Shallots, & Chives. There were only 4 clams and he felt there should have been more. I had the Poached Halibut with Bechamel, Tempura Mushrooms, & Onion Ash. The halibut was cooked to perfection and all was very good. The waiter, Cameron, was very good too.

This past weekend my friends and I truly had one of the most memorable meals that I've had in a long long time. Our four-person group had so much fun sitting outside by our docked boat, watching the boats in the harbor, and unpacking Michelin Star worthy food all in a pleasant picnic setting. I mean let's get real, no one has or will offer all three things at once except Garde East! To sum up the three things that makes Garde East the best restaurant on the Vineyard: 1. Can I say 100 star food?!? Beyond superior...it's mouth watering! 2. Diligent and capable managers and staff, always catering to the customer! 3. Presentation, delivery, and execution...all beyond expectations! While the world has been on lockdown and social distancing has shut down my favorite restaurants, Garde East has proven to be the shining star of impeccable service and well prepared by adapting to the current world we live in. I commend their ability to provide a safe and clean place to dine, and I will certainly be a repeat customer throughout the summer!!
