Great place to experience breakfast near the boardwalk at an affordable price point. The staff were friendly and ambience pretty cozy and neat atmosphere. The pancakes were a bit dry, though, but overall, great portions. Ordered the turkey slices with sunny side eggs and waffle sampler along with banana and strawberry pecan pancakes 🥞. Great coffee refills! ☕️
Pocahontas is that classic breakfast place that every town should have. Large breakfast menu with lots of choices. The waffles were nice and crispy on the edges. The pancakes are fluffy and light. This place gets and stays busy so plan accordingly. The service was fast and friendly Stephanie did a great job taking care of us! I recommend the sampler if it is your first time to give you a taste of the main things on the menu.
One secret about parking the first two rows of the parking garage are for Pocahontas customers so you don't have to pay for street parking if there are any free spots available when you go.
Fast service. No wait to be seated (off season). The food was tasty. Our server Lori was attentive and friendly. The decor is interesting. We look forward to returning in the future.
The food is solid, basic diner brunch. Nothing amazing but it was all pretty good! They do have a lot of gluten free options which I always appreciate. The waffle was good and came out marked with a toothpick. They also had gluten free pancakes, toast, and bagels. It is always crowded, being a brunch place in a vacation hub, but they move people through pretty fast. The theme is weird and seems like it’d be canceled on Twitter.
It was our first time eating here, which was very amazing. I loved it, and so did my family. It was very full but they didn't make us wait too long, maybe like 5 minutes. Service with a smile.
About 20 min wait to be seated, which is a testament to their food and therefore popularity. Our server, STEPHANIE, was excellent. Knew the menu, suggested items, bubbly, friendly, attentive, and effervescent. MANAGER - GIVE HER A BONUS! Food was excellent with large portions. Half of our group couldn't finish theirs. We had the waffle with strawberries, bananas and pecans. Also had western omelet, blueberry pancakes, and Spanish omelet. The last pic with the final forkful WAS a Spanish omelet. Definitely visit if you are in VA Beach and if you're lucky, Stephanie will be your server.
Came here about a year ago and line was around corner.well made my way earlier today. Very busy. All staff working hard. There’s like 3-4 pages of just breakfast items. I had the waffles induced with bacon. Omg was awesome. Mom had the Turkey bacon omelette that she said was awesome. Get here early….
We enjoyed our breakfast. I got the French toast with butter, whipped cream, powdered sugar and little cinnamon. I loved it , but it had a weird taste to it almost like the bread was bad or egg. I ended up paying for it all day, lingering stomach pains. My husband got the Oreo waffle that was pretty awesome. There was no wait, service was quick our waiter was amazing. We ordered a side of sausage and bacon. The bacon tasted off, gladly they took that off the bill. The sausage tasted like frozen microwave sausage. Which was fine, but not what we were expecting. The atmosphere was great the staff was great, definitely worth coming back again.
Ooooweeeee!!! Pocahontas sure knows how to work that skillet! The breakfast offerings here are divine. You'll feel your stomach swelling in delight as your gall bladder kicks into overdrive! And if you're fortunate to have witty Frank as your server, just sit back and let the coffee flow! ☕️
No nonsense breakfast spot which is a solid 4.5. Stays busy, food comes out quickly with sizable portions. What set them apart during this visit was the impeccable service by Jacob and Jenkey. They are the epitome of what customer service should be. They would be a credit to any establishment, making you feel very welcome. I would return based on them alone.
Sandwich is huge and delicious! We also got grits, sausage, meat lovers omelet and pancakes. 10/10 service and food. Big portions. We will definitely be coming back before our trip is over.
Pocahontas Pancake House is my new favorite breakfast place. The food is amazing and the coffee is flavorful. When we arrived the place was packed. They closed in just 45 minutes after our arrival and there was still a line out the door. They gave us a pager and said it would be about 15 minutes but in reality it only took about 1 minute. Our waitress, Kelly, was great and she was Jonny on the spot with water and coffee. The French Toast and Nutella Waffle were both the best of their kind that either of us had ever had. The atmosphere is neat, featuring "Lost Colony" style artwork on the walls and Native American themed art on the tabletops and throughout the restaurant. It seems like it should be in obx or something except we all know you're not allowed to put a good restaurant on the outer banks by decree of city council I assume. But the art definitely makes you think of Manteo or something. Anyway, I hope that was 200 words. I'll definitely be back to eat at this place regularly in the future.
Edit, three visits later. Not great. No coffee refills, cold waffles, wrong order, strange eggs. Probably not going back
Very welcoming great service im still here. I loved the food everything about it!!! It tastes as good as if I would’ve cooked it. My servers name is Jacob very humble kind and reminds me of me when I served. We need more positive people like Jacob in the world.
Best service i’ve seen. Waitresses are so sweet and very quick even when the restaurant is packed. The prices were very cheap for the area and the portions were very big. A lot of the orders come with pancakes/ french toast / toast which make a just order a lot of food. Went 3 times on my vacation, absolutely recommend! They deserve the hype. No parking lot, but walkable. The steak and cheese panini was phenomenal, 3 eggs and bacon on top. Huge portion, was able to share and still be full.
Absolutely loved the pancakes here. They are by far the best I've had mot just here in the US but to a lot of other places I've travelled to. It was a crowded weekend but the staff were so great and we got our tables after just a very short wait.
Looking forward to our next trip back to the States and Virginia Beach.
Highly recommended.
