Most excellent spot for beach combers and all alike! Grub on food that you can tell the staff actually cares about when making, and enjoy a beautifully crafted espresso drink. If you are looking for a place for brunch, and you see this and skip it... shame on you! You’re missing out. 🤙🏼

My family and myself have been coming here for years now and this is our FAVORITE spot ! Weather it’s just for breakfast or coming in for a latte we always have a wonderful time and experience! As business owners Dwayne and Rachel always make sure everyone is happy, they actually remember you when you walk in and if you come in enough they know your order off hand !!!! Food was good, had the funky monkey and hummus. Coffee was very good, cortado and flat white. Out waitress was very friendly. The biggest bonus was that we were able to eat outside with our dog and they were kind enough to bring him a bowl of water.

Yesterday I ordered a caramel latte and it was cute, delicious & bold tasting. For food, I created my own breakfast sandwich everything bagel bacon, egg with cheddar cheese it was great. Nice and soft! Reminded me of a bagel from New York.

I ordered a lox bagel and their signature iced vanilla latte and they were both amazing. The lox was fresh and tender. The coffee was great, not overly sweet.
The prices are a bit on the high side, but I suppose that's what you can expect from a place that gets a lot of tourist business.
Service was great, and everyone there was prompt and friendly.
There is seating indoor and outdoors. The outdoor area is large and dog friendly. They also have a small bar where they serve craft beers in the patio area. There was live music on the patio, which was awesome. Their outdoor area is pretty legit overall.
Great place and walking distance from the beach. It's definitely located in one of the nicer areas downtown.
I needed something different for my regular coffee routine and decided to try Java Surf. Parking is scarce so you’ll more than likely have to park somewhere up the street and walk up.
It’s a pretty cool coffee shop. The inside decor and atmosphere are really nice and give off beachy, laid back, surf shop vibes. There is comfortable but limited seating inside as well as an outdoor patio.
The menu has all sorts of options from bare bones coffee and tea to flavored lattes, and many breakfast and lunch items including wraps, sandwiches, and pastries. I got a Mediterranean wrap that was very filling and tasted amazing, and my iced latte was really good. The service was quick when I went and the folks working behind the counter were nice.
Wow , how I absolutely enjoyed my experience here at Java surf , great staff, great menu options. I got the white chocolate mocha iced with a side of siracha mayo, delicious, the drink was flavorful and creamy . I’d definitely suggest then over Starbucks: Dunkin , go local or go home !!!!!! Love them
This has easily become my go-to coffee shop down here at the beach. Everyone that works there is so nice, the vibe is amazing, and the food OMG! I've had the turkey croissant, kahuna, build your own, lox. My favorite coffee is the black and white mocha but they have many great options.
Prices are great as well.

my boyfriend & i got two lox bagels, usually called “The Frank”. they came open faced with a lot of salmon on both sides. we also got an ice coffee which had free refills, loved that. staff was pleasant. the wait for the food was longer then expected.
I came from Jacksonville, Florida to Virginia Beach and couldn’t be happier with my experience at Java Surf Cafe. I created my own breakfast made of White bread, grilled chicken, caramelized onions, mozzarella cheese, bacon, scrambled eggs and avocado + S. Pellegrino water. I’m picky when it comes to eating out because I’m used to homemade food. This place fulfilled my expectations. Breakfast was delicious and customer service was top notch.
The Frank (lox bagel) was delicious. Tater tots were tasty but couldn't have been cooked a bit longer - they wert soft, but the amazing house hot sauce saved them. Bloody Mary was average at best - over seasoned.
The food and the service was average at most it definitely wasn't bad but it also could have been better. They had one cashier and the line was long . On the plus side there outside sitting area is nice and it's definitely worth it to sit outside and relax and eat your food.
This place is amazing. It gives the beachy coffee shop vibe but also feels like an intimate setting for a good conversation.

I would give 5 stars just for the coffee but the food, staff and decor all deserve 5 if not more stars if I could rate any higher!!! I thought I would have a "light" lunch and ordered the club sandwich. This thing was HUGE and tasted amazing!!!! Definitely Worth going to if you're in town!
Fast, friendly service. My kids and I went for breakfast and they loved the strawberry banana smoothie and banana chocolate chip muffin. The coffee was fresh and good! The wrap the sever recommended was delicious. The atmosphere was casual. A great breakfast spot!
Food was amazing and the atmosphere was great. Limited parking, don't recommend parking at the restaurant if you have a large car as you probably won't have space. Orders were placed outside then you can choose to sit indoor/outdoor and the food in brought to you. The staff was all very kind!
This place was amazing! We were looking for a quick breakfast and coffee when we found Java Surf. The staff was kind and attentive! Their breakfast sandwiches and tator tots were DELICIOUS! We all had coffee both hot and cold and it was so good. I wanted to make it back there to buy coffee beans, and I just ran out of time!
We stopped here after a visit to the Convention center. We walked up to this surf type cafe and decided to try lunch here. I thought “ “this will do”…. Well, I ordered the Mediterranean panini wrap and it was absolutely delicious! I am still talking about that and my latte a week later and definitely plan to go back. Everyone in my party really enjoyed their food and flavor of their meal.
