Outstanding food with great service! Owner and staff friendly and attentive. They offer not only authentic Greek, but also limited Italian (pizza and the like). Clean and spacious family place. Fell in love with the mural hand-crafted in the back!

I'd give Papa's 100 stars if I could. The food is always mouth watering, the flavors are unlike anything or any other Greek restaurant I have found in Hampton Roads. They are a beautiful family that will make you feel as though you were always part of it. I will always recommend Papa's to anyone who will listen and recommend my personal favorite, the Mediterranean Chicken Wrap with either fries or a Greek salad, to everyone!
Papa's Greek Family restaurant was great ! I tried a gyro for the first time ever and I loved it . The atmosphere and staff were friendly, this is an all around awesome place to eat !

Went there for my mom's Birthday the other day..their Gyro was absolutely delicious.
Ordered the gyro wrap and fallafel wrap. Both were delicious and very filling. Large portion and hot, fresh made fries. I will definitely be back to try more of the menu.
We ate here yesterday. I ordered the Papa's Greek special 10'' pizza. I was concerned that it may have been too small, but when it came in on a hot pan, I was amazed at how thick and loaded it was with toppings. I couldn't finish it all and I have a huge appetite. It literally was the best pizza I have EVER had. I will go here again.
Papa's Greek Restaurant and Pizzeria is the place to go if you want real greek food that makes your mouth water just thinking of it. The gyros and french fries or the greek style pizza are my favorites. This place is friendly and make you feel like they are family. We have known them for several years and take all our friends and family there. If you like greek food you should try it out.

Great Gyro Dinner. Had dinner there last night had a Gyro, Greek Salad, and Fries and was great. The atmosphere was very good the staff was very friendly would defiantly eat there again.

The food here is delicious...just like every other Greek owned establishment. My only complaint is that pizzas are too small for what you pay. They used to be much larger, but that changed.
Fantastic Local Greek Vibe. This restaurant is one of those unassuming, unpretentious restaurants that will surprise you. A nice local family establishment. On the recommendation of Urbanspoon came in for a dinner just to check it out. When we it was pretty empty so we we're uncertain, after 7 it filled up quick! We started with the Falafel as the appetizer and followed with a gyro and chicken platter that was seasoned perfectly, and it was juiced to perfection. And I actually had their desert called Kadaifi Me Krema (Greek Shredded Wheat Pastry With Custard). And it was not a small helping either. It was delicious moist and not too sweet.

TERRIFIC GYROS!!!. I'm not sure what took us so long to try Papa's, given it's just across the road from our neighborhood, but my husband and I finally made it in recently. We both had a hankering for gyros after missing the Greek Festival and we were NOT disappointed! My husband has had many a gyro during his Navy travels. He said it was as close to one you'd find overseas he's seen stateside. They were absolutely delicious! Definitely a go-to if you've got a hankering for a REAL gyro! And, yes, it's a bit of a hole in the wall, but it's got a good, down-home family feel to it and the staff is super nice.
Best Greek Food in VA. This place not only has terrific food but the atmosphere was just as enjoyable. It's a family owned and run establishment and they make you feel just that, like family. I ordered the gyro platter and I was in for a surpise. The gyro isnt your run of the mill frozen strips, its straight off the rotisserie, cooked and seasoned to perfection. The platter comes with fries and a delicious greek salad, a generous portion of food for a great price!! My friend had the chicken souvlaki platter, which is the same as the gyro but with chicken instead. The chicken was just as great as the gyro! The staff was great and the food was better. I will definitely be going back for more!!
Gyro and Fries. The term "hole in the wall" comes to mind (I mean that in both its positive and negative connotations). I have no idea what the rest of their food is like but the Gyro TASTES absolutely BEAUTIFUL. When my fiancee comes to town we make sure to get Gyros at least once. The first time I went, I ordered the Gyro platter, which comes with fries and a greek salad instead of just the fries; the salad was good but ended up being more food than I needed. The fries they serve are always hot and always better than average. If you are in the area you definitely need to check this place out.

THE BEST!!!!!! My girlfriend lives nearby, and suggested Papa's a few weeks ago. We walked in less than 10 minutes from closing. The staff had already started putting everything away for the night & cleaning, but warmly welcomed us in and invited us to order. They were friendly and patient (we had expected time to sit down and eat, so didn't know what we wanted), and delivered our food with smiles and wishes for a good evening. I will definitely be eating here often! The best gyros I have had since moving to Hampton Roads!
Now this is a great gyro!. Now this is a Greek restaurant! After the dismal gyro I had at another place during the week, we decided the only thing would could to make up for it was to come to Papa's and have a real one.
Papa's is a family owned & staffed establishment located on the ring road around the Kempsriver Crossing Shopping Center in Va Beach. They are extremely friendly and were talking and interacting with the regulars.
We ordered Gyro's and from where we were seated, watched as they shaved the lamb from the rotisserie. The lamb was excellent! What a wonderful meal.
So how was the pizza you ask? I'm sad to say "I don't know". According to our waitress they do not sell it by the slice due to the lack of walk up traffic. So on my next visit it will be pizza time. Oh yes...

I've been hearing about Papa's for a while now but for whatever reason never took the time to stop in until today. I was craving a big salad!! I ordered a small Mediterranean chicken salad to go. When I got home and opened the container I couldn't believe how big it was and there was so much chicken!!! I wish I had ordered extra feta cheese and extra olives because there wasn't a lot but it was fine. The salad was very delicious! It came with romaine lettuce, tomatoes, kalamala olives, feta cheese and cucumbers and grilled chicken. I couldn't even finish the whole thing because it was so big! I'll definitely be back with my husband because now I want to try dinner!
We had the Falafels, Hummus and Pita, Western Gyro, and Salonika. Food was Great and Filling.
They were also very busy with Doordash orders and several Dine in guest.
I'm trying to get on the bandwagon of trying local pizza places around the area, and while this isn't a strict pizza place, a buddy of mine told me about this place a few weeks prior saying that the pizza was awesome. So I finally got around to going there and checking it out. I didn't care too much for the atmosphere though. Also, the fact that beer isn't served there deducts some points. So I decided to place a carryout order instead considering it isn't too far from where I live. The estimated time was accurate and ordering a meat lover's pizza, I was very impressed. I don't think I've ever had one that had steak on it. It was very good and I would definitely consider carrying out again sometime in the future.
Really, yummy pizza. Great Greek salad. Service is good. They do charge a fee for paying with a credit card. Decor is very limited, but you don't go there to look around. Definitely recommend the food.
Authentic gyro! Greek salad was perfect! Just moved to the area, first Greek restaurant. Will be back and highly recommend. The lady working the register, seating customers, waiting tables and in kitchen was amazing! Thank you for your customer service. Five stars!
Very plain atmosphere, but Amazing Food! Very unassuming atmosphere with very plain decorations and furniture. The food on the other hand was delicious! We had the gyro and the lamb was very well seasoned and the tzatziki sauce was very fresh. Also the chicken was cooked to perfection being very juicy inside the pita bread. It was very generous portions for the price point. The baklava was very authentic, crispy, buttery, flaky with honey and cinnamon.

Great gyro (real lamb) and souvlaki! Best I have had in Virginia. Greek salads excellent with abundant olives, peppers and feta cheese. Innovative menu with numerous versions of gyros I have never seen before.

I heard so much about this place from my other Yelp friends. My boyfriend has never had Greek food so what better way to introduce him to it than a local favorite.
We walked in and was greeted by Ms. Jackie. She was so nice and sweet. We got to pick where we wanted to sit which was cool. After we sat down, more people came inside also.
I heard so many different reviews from this place. I placed the photo of my food on my instagram and a lot of my friends were excited that I went.
We started off his experience with Spanakopita, a Greek Spinach pie. It was good and crispy. The Tzatziki sauce was a perfect touch with the dish. Then we ended having eyes bigger than our stomachs if you want me to be honest. We both ordered gyros that included tzatziki sauce and a side order of fresh crinkle fries . The portion for the fries were huge. I also heard that their pizza was one of the best, so how could I pass that up? We ordered a grilled chicken and feta pizza that tasted so fresh.
Most def am coming back to this restaurant. My parents were also satisfied with their togo order!

Forgot my lunch this morning, so I hoppped on Doordash and ordered my regular gyro combo (no tzatziki sauce, ergic to dairy) and a cherry coke. Thirty minutes later, I meet my Dasher and tear into my food to see it covered in the traditional yogurt based sauce. I was so sad knowing that I wouldn’t be able to eat this amazing 🥙 and that I’d probably be super hungry for the rest of the day. I called Papa Greeks and the young man immediately apologized for the misunderstanding and went out of the way to make it right, including re-delivering to my work location (in his personal vehicle) within minutes. The hospitality and great meal made a long day that much brighter. You’ve earned a customer for life.
Absolutely amazing. First time here and the hostess was so polite, the food was absolutely amazing and reminded me of my Greek Grandmothers cooking. Service was fast and accurate. I will absolutely make the trip from Portsmouth to come here and get my Greek fix and become a regular.
This place was great! Super casual atmosphere that didn't take away from the quality of the food. The salads are GIGANTIC! My gyro salad was awesome! My only complaint about my salad was that it got super watery towards the end. I'd definitely recommend this place for a quick and casual taste of Greek food!

Had the gyro, Childs pizza with grilled chicken, and the gyro platter, and now that I think about it will probably get it tonight as well now that it’s in my brain. Mine experiences have been exclusively delivery through DoorDash. Hands down 100% best gyro in the area that I’ve tried. Authentic and robust flavors with the gyro and the fries were absolutely great and probably the best crinkle cut fries in Chesapeake. All of my food has always arrived warm/hot which is rare with delivery. The gyro was absolutely delicious from inside out. The pita was warm and absolutely soggy of it was soggy at all, I’m guessing they toast it a little first. The gyro meat was very good quality, firm, and appropriately sliced (not thick enough to be difficult to chew but not thin enough to fall apart and a lot of times places thin the slice to cut costs from what I’ve noticed). It was well seasoned and properly spread out so there wasn’t a single bite didn’t have some. Even though the pita was warm and had the hot meat the lettuce was very crisp and none of it had cooked/turned soggy at all. The tzatziki was really great, and every ingredient was layered in evenly. There wasn’t a bite I had that was just lettuce unless I intentionally did it. The first were hot, well salted, and most importantly with crinkle cut fries they were crisp, I didn’t have a single soggy fry in the box. The salad with the platter was massive, all of it was great including their dressing. With the platter I was stuffed after the gyro and fries and didn’t eat much of the salad honestly. Highly recommend.
