Stopped by for lunch and only had green curry with chicken. Vegetables were still crunchy, eggplant not cooked all the way. Tasted ok... the curry sauce was on the lighter side...tasted almost soup-like. Service by Nina was excellent; she was very attentive and efficient. Will return and try other dishes.

My husband and I had a nice experience here. I ordered a spicy salad with peanuts. This is a good size for sharing with another person. I ordered the Tom Kha soup with chicken. I got level 5 Spicy and it was very good. It’s like a warm hug. My husband got the Panang curry with chicken. They brought him a small salad with an egg roll as part of the Meal. The server was very kind and offered great service. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere too.

Thai salad wasn't what I was expected. Definitely order the iced green tea it's delicious! I'd go back just for the green tea. Food was OK. Small portions

Good food, with good service and a nice atmosphere. Most of their customers are carry-out, so there is a good chance of getting a table if you walk in. Good menu selection, including a nice selection of vegetarian and vegan items. If they offered mock duck, I would choose this over the other Thai restaurant in the Hilltop/Oceanfront area.

From the beginning when I stepped into this establishment, I noticed a welcoming, clean, and well thought out environment. The staff was sincere and genuine. The design and atmosphere struck me as warming despite a stone looking walls. Pricing seemed reasonable if you are looking for a higher quality Thai cuisine that doesn’t break the bank. I ordered number 46. Pad Thai (with added chicken) and number 50. Thai Style Fried Rice (with added chicken). The Pad Thai was absolutely delicious! Not over sweetened, which has been an issue with other Thai restaurants, and isn’t watered/soupy. The Thai Style Fried Rice was not overly cooked and once again, not overly seasoned and hits your pallet and tastebuds just right. I enjoyed my time at Kao Thai Restaurant and I hope you swing by and check it out as well.

Love this restaurant good food and prompt service. They sometimes can lack a bit communication wise but the food makes up for that. Yesterday night it was sub freezing temperatures and wind was blowing strong we went in for a few soups here and ordered there Kom Cha Soup with Shrimp. It tasted yummy and contained good sized fresh tasting shrimp in there. We also love the mango curry here as well as their pad thai. I highly recommend this place.

Wow what an amazing meal! I moved down to Hampton roads VA about 7 years ago from NY and this was the first time I've had a Thai meal as good as my favorite NY Thai places and the service was fantastic!

Super food! I didn't have much hopes before entering. Inside is nice enough. Our waitress was attentive and speedy. The food was delicious. Very good. I had Thai chicken fried rice three stars. Nice and warm, big portions. Plenty of parking. No steps and handicap parking are helpful to those with accessibility needs.

The waiter was very polite and the food was fresh and hot. I will return. Their food is better than Chinese food. At first I thought this drink was iced coffee, but it's ice tea. It taste like iced coffee and I'm surprised that I like it because I don't like coffee. I don't like any kind of coffee . This tea tastes really good.

Omg!!!!! My favorite restaurant hands down!!! The staff is friendly and attentive. You have got to try their Thai Fried Rice!!! I always get it with chicken beef and shrimp every once in a while I'll get it with crabmeat. But you haven't LIVED until you've tried it!!! SERIOUSLY, I'm there sometimes 3 times a week. And you can choose the spiciness of it.

We’ve eaten here several times. The pad Thai was not good and the portions are a little small. However, the yellow curry has the best flavor and we often find ourselves reminiscing on how much we love it. We ordered the small size appetizer once and it changed our lives. The larger size seems a bit thinner and has thick, plain lumps of chicken, but that flavor makes up for it every time. The gyoza is also excellent with a perfect crips and yummy fillings.

Nina was very accommodating, and I had a delicious vegetarian lunch. My son and I loved the lunch salad as well as our entrees. I also enjoyed a mug of green tea. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxing. We will return.
