I heard about this place, that it opened at 9:30 in the morning and closed when they ran out of food around lunchtime, so I got there at 10 AM, and found several people inside eating. When I left at around 10:45 there was a line at the counter, so I guess you do have to have an early lunch if you want to come here.
I had the brisket, asked for it lean, and that is how they served it. Potato salad and slaw were good, plus I would call the meal inexpensive. They serve a hot dipping sauce with the meal, and I saw a tip that someone suggested warming up the onions that you can get on the pickle/onion bar and make a sandwich with the bread they serve with the meals. Excellent suggestion!
Amazing BBQ and the banana nut cake and deserts are 5 star restaurant quality. I go early because the line gets long and the often sell out early. The line moves very quickly and it's definitely worth the wait. I drive about 20 minutes to go here and its easily the best BBQ in Waco area.
I can't imagine how many BBQ joints are in Texas. But of those hundreds - possibly thousands of restaurants there are many not worth the trip but Tony's is one I would want to eat at again.
You know it is a great sign when you enter a BBQ restaurant and you get that heavenly smell of smoked flavor. Then if there is a long line you know you are discovering something others already know about.
The brisket was plastic fork tender - no knife needed. The turkey was moist and flavorful and the sausage while third on the list was very good. The potato salad had a great flavor - the beans were good but nothing out of the ordinary. Now they gave us a little cup of gravy that as you sopped (check your southern dictionary) the fresh white bread that just screamed heaven.
The topper was the chocolate cake - make by the lady at the counters own two hands - just a slice a deliciousness.
If in Waco at lunch time - try it you won't be disappointed.
I went in with family expecting to have potato salad & iced tea. Much to my delight they now have big baked potatoes. I got the meat on the side (for a really happy puppy).

Best BBQ in the world! I could eat here daily. My favorite is the sliced brisket with a little of their homemade hot sauce folded into a slice of white bread and dunked into their amazing gravy. We have moved away and tried so many different BBQ joints. Nothing comes close. Viteks has nothing on Tonys.
The best BBQ around. It does run out early bc its so good. I've been going there since I was little and won't ever stop going.
Best BBQ in TX, hands down!!! Make sure you go for all you can eat ribs Wednesday, and go early.
Best bar-b-que in town!. This is my hands down favorite place to get bar-b-que! Dagwood (# 5) mix with BBQ and hot sauce is so delicious my mouth is watering just thinking about it! And all you can eat ribs on Wednesday's! Demarias is a great place not only because of the tasty food but because of the wonderful people you'll meet as well. People from all walks of life eat at Demarias and are always happy to share a story or lend an ear. All around great place!
Great. Go early. Almost always run out of brisket by 11:30
