Ko is one of the two fine-dining restaurants in the Fairmont Kea Lani hotel in Wailea.  It’s at 4100 Wailea Alanui Drive, phone 808-875-2210. The decor at Ko is casual, with wicker chairs and no tablecloths on the tables.  But the food and service are elegant, with prices to match.  Each food item is beautifully presented and there is a wide variety of Pacific Rim style foods on the menu. Dinner begins with one of the best assortment of breads of any Maui restaurant. Then there are twelve appetizers and four soups to choose from. The entrees include five fish preparations, as well as other seafoods, plus pork, chicken, lamb, steaks, and vegetarian options. It’s all topped off with twelve possibilities for dessert.

Went here for the brekfast buffet while staying at the hotel. Food was good and service and attentive. Omelet station, lots of pastries, meat and fruit. At 34$ a person it was slightly overpriced in comparison to other fairmont breakfast buffets but was still good.

Best meal we had in Wailea. Service was bad, but the food made up for that!

Does not disappoint.... Ko is great, expected no less at the Fairmont. Bigger than expected portions so felt we got our money's worth. An appetizer, two entrees, two cocktails and the $35 sake = $200. We regretted the appetizer once we saw how big dinner was. Also, check what the specialty cocktail is and it's cost...our bad that she offered them and we said yes...they weren't very good and were $15 each. There were better drinks on the menu. Doh! Either go hungry, share plates or plan to leave some behind. Yum, and especially nice if you're staying there.

Ko Rocks. We had an excellent lunch and dinner at Ko while staying at the Fairmont. Lovely atmosphere and great service - Curt and Colleen were both sweet as can be. We enjoyed a very fresh fish wrap and noodle dish for lunch and had a heavy appetizer dinner and dessert.

I highly recommend the Ahi on the Rock and the Oishi Sushi - both are delicious and cooking your ahi on a hot rock is a lot of fun (I want to order one for home).

The mochi trio and banana lumpia desserts were yummy.

All in all, we enjoyed our meals and would go back in a heartbeat!

Very fun experience!. We ate here after arriving from our 9 hour flight and had a great meal with our 3 kids, who desperately wanted to go to bed. We had the Kobe & ahi hot rock appetizer, which were both excellent, and since you "cook" the ahi yourself on the stone, it was engaging & fun for the kids, and they loved it - which was amazing since the ahi was only seared! The server was super accommodating and came back with a reasonable suggestion for our 13 year old, who wanted a steak but wasn't hungry enough for the rib eye on the menu; she offered a petit filet for $22 vs. the $46 we would have had to spend otherwise. We had Walu in a macadamia nut crust that was fabulous. Great first night in Maui!

Yummy food from the sushi and calimari appetizer to the main dishes of Walu and lamb chops. There us something for everyone in the family to enjoy. My don had the fish pizza with awesome crust. The service was perfect -- great pacing and not hovering - prompt and helpful with the menu -- thanks to Blanco our server.

You could say I was saving the best for last – I don’t even know where to begin with this great restaurant. Firstly, it’s nestled inside the Fairmont Kea Lani (which by the way deserves to be on a postcard, it is so unbelievably gorgeous inside). I’m definitely going to have to stay here when I come to Maui next time, even if it’s just for one night! Please note that I was invited to review Ko and that my meal was paid for. Anyway back to Ko, this restaurant is located downstairs and to the left. It’s open air and many parts of the seating area have this wonderful view of the beach, palm trees and the sunset. Our particular booth had a marvelous view. Our server Luiz was very helpful and friendly. He came to check on us frequently and gave us a little background on Ko (which literally translates to sugar cane in English). Award-winning Executive Chef Tylun Pang has designed a menu that is very similar to the residents of Maui – a fusion. That is, a fusion of Hawaiian, Chinese, Filipino

Nearly 90 percent of the produce served at Ko is from local farmers. The Mauka Harvest Salad has a blend of five baby lettuces from Triple N Farm, as well as Pohole Fern Shoots picked by the Kanoa family in Hana. A portion of the sales from this salad is donated to Maui County Farm Bureau’s Growing Future Farmers Initiative. Ahi on the Rock is THE signature dish of Ko. It is sashimi-grade tuna, brushed with macadamia nut oil and is brought to your table seasoned with shichimi pepper and Molokai artisan sea salt, made by salt-master Nancy Gove. You s

The Very Best Place we are at in Maui! Everything was awesome from the beginning to the end. We informed the restaurant it was our honeymoon so they added cute little heart sticks on our food and added a “congratulations” plate on our desert. Service is what we appreciated the most: Christina was our server and she really stood out: got everything as we wanted (share plates) she walked us through the menu and really was in a great celebrating need with us! We really appreciated it! We met the manager he was super nice as well! Food is beyond delicious: food was absolutely incredible and matches the standards of the best restaurants in Europe or the US. We live sur so much we came back to try the lobster on our last night! Don’t miss it! It’s really worth it! Thanks to the whole team for making us feel so special for our celebration.

My family liked the lumpia. The curry was very good but very rich; it was bigger than I needed. I liked my noodle dish! My neice loved her salad with beef. Service was good, waiter was attentive, just a little slow getting out food.

The food is tasty but the portions are somewhat small. The ambiance is nice but there is no view (just the swimming pool). The service was top-notch. It is very posh!

We live in Maui and Ko is a spot we enjoy for upscale date night. The food is always delicious with great service. Ko is located inside the Fairmont hotel, which is one of my favorites in Maui. Great local sourcing of food. The bone-in ribeye is fantastic and it is also really nice they have daily rotating specials. They offer 25% local discount with state ID.

We absolutely loved the entire experience at Ko in the Fairmont hotel. I appreciate that the Fairmont offers free self parking which is rare in this area of Maui. The restaurant staff and our waiter was passionate about the menu and offered plenty of guidance. We loved all of the starter dishes we tried and felt the main course were satisfactory. I would definitely visit Ko again, but next time I would only order starters and skip the main course. You could easily fill up on the appetizers and felt they were more creative and enjoyable.

Despite a bit of drizzle on the patio, the atmosphere was great. Food was amazing! My family are not seafood lovers so whenever I get a chance to try something special, I do. This fit the bill perfectly. The Coconut curry soup was the perfect dish to start off the meal. I was expecting something Thai flavoured but it was more East Indian in nature... and not a bad thing either. The main dish was a seafood bisque with rice to throw in for good measure. I was amazed and impressed at how much seafood was in there, normally with dishes like this you end up chasing a solitary scallop around the bottom of your bowl with a spoon but here every spoon dip was a satisfactory smorgasbord of ocean treats. The sauce complimented perfectly and the rice brought everything together the ideal flavour delivery mechanism. Highly recommend.

The atmosphere, service, and food quality were all incredible. We loved our time at Kō and wish we could eat here all the time! We were visiting Maui from Pennsylvania and were told we had to try this place. We made sure to book our reservations several months in advance and it was more than worth the wait. The front house hostess was so sweet and efficient. She personally thanked us for coming to visit Kō, even though we weren’t staying at the Fairmont, which was so nice of her. Ryan (I think that’s his name) was our server and did an outstanding job of making recommendations. He seemed so genuinely happy to be there and was telling us all the things he loved about Maui. And then the food; It was delicious, creative, and filled with so much aloha. We wanted to try very traditional Polynesian food, so Ryan recommended the laulau with poi. Let’s just say it was easily one of the most amazing fish dishes we’ve ever had in our lives. The flavors were so rich, warm, and satisfying. You can really tell how the chefs pour their love for creating and Hawaiian culture into their work. It was such a special experience for us on our honeymoon and we will never forget it. Mahalo nui loa to Kō for everything!
