Not bad. A good meal every time I go, and the service is typically good. Prices are not bad, and this is one of the nicer places in Wake Forest.
My biggest problems are: Huge crowds on the weekends, and "call ahead seating" ... which on multiple occasions did absolutely nothing for me. This type of place should really accept reservations.
Overall, a place that I will go on a regular basis.
Confused By Some Of The Negative Reviews. Looking at the dates on most of the negative reviews leads me to conclude that any problems with food or service have been resolved
I discovered the existence of this place due to their catering a business function I attended the previous night. It's not located on the way to anywhere, but I'm glad I took time to find it. I found both the food and the service to be excellent. Amy, the co-owner, took time to visit our table to assure that we were satisfied with our visit. The seared ahi tuna was excellent as was the seafood bisque. The cold oysters on the half shell were very fresh and tasty. Just the right size and natural saltiness.
My business associate enjoyed his meal as well.
I plan to go back every time I'm in Raleigh.

I love Shucker's! My favorite dish is the grilled salmon with Oscar topping. The food is always amazing though the service can be hit or miss.
I love raw oysters, so their bucket satisfies me every time. Sit at the bar, enjoy drinks, and good company. Always a nice experience.
Good seafood in the middle of NC. A bit out of the way from Raleigh, but worth the drive. the prices were reasonable, got the pecan crusted trout and key lime pie (dessert was exceptional). the atmosphere out on the back patio was nice to with some live music and fans to keep you cool in the summer heat. one major downside was parking was a royal pain.
Great seafood. Reasonably priced. Service was ok. I will go again.
This is our "go to" neighborhood restaurant, awesome food...love it!!!
I could live here!!. I love this place. I've dined here numerous times....always GREAT service, and the food is even better. I'm from Florida, where seafood restaurants are a dime a dozen, and this place is better than even most local seafood places on the Gulf Coast. The various baked oysters are phenomenal. The atmosphere compliments a balance of upscale/urban with a splash of contemporary/casual that properly compliments their menu choices.
Had lunch today and the fish tacos are worth talking about. Can not wait to try the oysters!
Great seafood, great service, decent prices. Ate here for dinner it was great. It was a little crowded, but they got us in without making us wait too long, and even though it was slammed with people the service was still good. The prices were such that we were able to get 2 appetizers and 2 entrees for about $45 after the tip, which at a seafood restaurant is tough to do. Everything tasted great, would absolutely recommend it.
Great Seafood in RTP. My family, along with my visiting-from-Norfolk sister and brother in law, decided to try the relocated Shuckers. My wife and I had eaten here several times when it was in its old location. We were very surprised at how much it has improved. The service was very friendly and knowledgeable if somewhat flustered: one appetizer, a very tasty sea chowder, arrived with dinner and one of the desserts was incorrect - in both cases the restaurant picked up the tab and we ended up with an extra dessert so it was all good. The food was excellent with the exception of the fresh Wahoo (too dry - either left under a heat lamp for too long or a cook that doesn't know that you undercook this outstanding fish). We had the Big SOB, a main course steampot with a terrific variety, as an appetizer for the five of us. To sum it up, my seafood-living-and-loving brother in law stated that he never figured to find a seafood restaurant this good this far from the shore. I have to agree and recommend this restaurant.
Good. Look, this place is the best ....... you know how i know that....... i work there
Went to Shuckers last night. Since it's opening the parking lot has been packed, and despite my wife's aversion to seafood, we decided to see what all the fuss was about. There were 6 people in our party, two had been before and four who had not. The returning members of our party were New Englanders who had a much more discerning seafood pallate than my wife and I. They said their previous experience at the oyster bar was excellent and the pan seared scallops were superb. First off, my wife ordered a Fuzzy Navel and I had a Mojito- we both agreed that these were the best we've had in our 3 years in North Carolina. We decided to forgo appetizers in favor of the house salad a semi-sweet vinegarette with cranberries, the portion was not too large, which was a slight disappointment because a) it cost extra, and b) it was quite good. Generally, I like seafood so there was a lot that appealed to me on the menu, but after reading the previous review, and after searching for 3 years for a decent fish taco, I decided to go with those. I ordered my Mahi Mahi blackened as I prefer. These tacos did not disappoint- the fish was so tender and delicious, it melted in my mouth, to use the cliche. It was served with some rather uninteresting chips and a pico sauce which was not spectacular but decent- I ended up using most of it on my tacos for the extra bite I prefer, along with a few dabs of Texas Pete's. My wife ordered the filet mignon. Her review is that it was on par with the mid-range steakhouses such as Outback but not approaching a Ruth's Chris or Sullivans. Other members of our party ordered the mixed grill which was pasta, scallops, shrimp, mussels. Another ordered the blackened Mahi Mahi. Everyone was extremely pleased with their meals. We did get some of the complementary hush puppies, but I was the only one who ate them because the other members of our party were not aclimated to the south yet ;-) Service was very responsive and attentive so it wasn't a problem at all. The restaurant wasn't anything special to look at but it was head and shoulders above the previous shack on Capitol blvd. The most surprising fact was the value. For four drinks, two salads, two entrees and 1/3 of the dessert(we split with the other guests) it was about $65 which, while it seems a bit pricey, for the quality of salads, food, and alchohol was very good. I would recommend Shuckers to all my friends.
...crab leg appetizer...Juicy, salted with Old Bay Seasoning, and served with lemon wedges...I think we would have been happy eating those the rest of the night.
