Will be in South Thomaston in October and can’t wait for a return to Moody’s and a piece of blueberry pie!😋
Update: Well, we flew in yesterday and had dinner at Moody’s on our way to our rental. It was Saturday night and we had a bit of a wait but it was worth it! Our waitress, Brenda, gave me a
Moody’s has become a family tradition for us. Anytime we are driving up north and pass Waldoboro, a pit stop at Moody’s is a must. This place is truly a gem with so much history. How lucky are we to have Moody’s be part of our state.
We first dined at Moody’s two years ago and just fell in love wit
We had a terrific time at this iconic restaurant, both coming to and leaving Maine (lunch first visit, breakfast second). We had some great chowder for lunch. They make their desserts and pastries--the doughnuts we had with breakfast were awesome. We took some cheesecake to go after our lunch, and
My family and I stayed at the Moody’s Cabins (which, if you do not know, is located right up the hill above where the Moody’s Diner is) and every day we were there, we visited the diner for breakfast and dinner. Since we were already staying at the cabins, we were given a discount for our orders at
First time visit great late lunch of fish and chips (upgraded to excellent onion rings) and fish chowder full of fish chunks, not too thick as most are. Too full for dessert but took a slice of blueberry pie for later (grateful to have with a cup of tea in our room.). We wandered back and stayed i
We stopped for lunch. A cup of haddock chowder, warm biscuits with butter, and a slice of pie. It's always so delicious. All of the pies are homemade. I usually get the Lemon Meringue (photo below). The staff are all very friendly and helpful. They have been a family business since 1927.

We love eating at Moody's. Some staff recently just seems lethargic and doesn't live up to the whole Moodys brand (especially at the front register).
There is ice cream, gift shop but most importantly amazing, delicious made fresh food. No matter how packed the parking lot is, we never have to wait
This is classic diner fair with the basics done amazingly well. Server was helpful and speedy and the dropped star is for a little disappointing pasta dish - but then they went off piste and should have gone all day breakfast!!!
Authentic and good. Great fried seafood platter. Very filling. A great value. Friendly service.
This place was nostalgic, right off the highway and VERY busy. The true sign of good food.
Had about a 20 minute wait at 2 o'clock in the afternoon, but we got a good preview of everyones orders coming out.
I settled on the chicken croquettes because of someone else's order. They were DELICIOUS!! Po
Group of 6 and server was amazing! Everyone's order was correct and promptly served. Also an ice cream stand on property!
Great classic diner food. Pleasant service. A perfect road side stop.
If you like diners, you gotta stop here. Perfect diner food and atmosphere. And to top it all off, they’ve got pies! We tried the four berry and Whoopie and they were both great.
Yes. If you are looking for a place- THIS IS IT. Great food, like really great , where you know this recipe goes back generations. So good! Great service, you are welcomed and taken care of. And the history. The pictures! It’s just everything. All the stars. Go here!
Real Maine diner! Food was good but you are going for the history and the environment. Old bar seating and booths plenty of room when I was there. Waitress was quick food was quick, cooked as asked and hot. The real gem is their homemade pies! That is a lost art at restaurants nowadays my strawberry
Such a great experience! The staff was very friendly and attentive. I got the half pound lobster roll and it was massive. Their deserts are definitely the highlight, though, the whoopie pies are fantastic.
Charming old fashioned diner... friendly service, good food, EXCELLENT pie! We shared a delicious Rueben and had blueberry and walnut(!) pie. Also delicious 😋You might have to wait for a seat, very popular with locals and tourists. We got whoopie pies to go!
This is a large roadside diner located on Route 1. Expect long waits to get in and less-than friendly service. The waitstaff tries their best, but the volume of orders keeps them very busy. The food is worth the wait. I had a delicious lobster roll at a price far below every other restaurant I visi
Good diner food. Burger cooked as requested, Chowder was yummy, beer batter onion rings were crispy.
We were full, but ate a slice (wedge -- big wedge) of coconut cream pie. Flaky crust, not too sweet, plenty of coconut flavor.
Personable and attentive waitress. She was plenty busy, but provided goo
