We've heard and read and have seen so many commercials for Zaxby's up north and looked forward to trying this place out. Perhaps we should have waited for a different one? After walking in, we legitimately smelled, what could only be described as, chicken coop. The wife had to do a Google search to see if they had some kind of "spray" to make it smell like, I kid you not, a chicken coop. After cracking loads of jokes about our dinner being prepared "fresh" ad infinitum, we waited in a decent line until we ordered. One of the most impressive things that we always love to see (and the reason this is four stars, not three) is when a company helps out others, like disabled or "different" people. The nicest and very advanced cashier, one with Down Syndrome, was absolutely quick and accurate. It took a few times to listen to what they were asking, but mostly because the clanging noises from the kitchen made it difficult. Fabulous worker!! We each ordered something unique from the menu, including fingers and sandwiches. We were saddened to learn that it was nothing as special as we thought it would be. But the chicken coop smell was distracting the whole time. The fries were just okay. Just wasn't a pleasant experience for all of us. We hope to visit other locations and wish for them to be better.
