Husband and wife operated. I mostly get the fish and chips, quality and portion are great! I use their meal to rate everyone else, only one place comes close to their quality and flavor, it's just the best in RI. Do yourself a favor and try them out.

Not a place to go if you're in a hurry. The atmosphere is very relaxed. The staff is friendly. The food is definitely worth the wait! Delicious, large portions, and great value!

We didn't have a reservation, but they seated us anyway. Delicious fish. Chips were crispy. Coleslaw was average. Good service.

Out of state travelers. Gave this a chance. We don't regret it. We got the English muffin chicken strip poached egg with hollandaise sauce special. Amazing!!!! The staff was quick and very friendly. 2 specials was 25 dollars. Was impressed

Great fish and chips! One of my personal favorite underrated or somehow unknown restaurants in town. An older woman upon arrival to the neighborhood, pulled up and asked what a buttonwood was. I told her it's a great spot for fish and chips!

BEST Fish and Chips we've ever had!!! Would rate it 10 stars if that option was available. Buttonwoods is about 2 hours from our home, but we go out of our way to eat there. It's definitely worth the trip. We always say we'll try something different, because they have a great menu, but find ourse

Went in for a birthday lunch and was completely satisfied. Had a roast beef sandwich w/fries and lightly battered onion rings which was a real treat. Wife had fish and chips...big portions. Great menu and great service. We'll be back.
