Place was delicious, looking forward to the course tasting menu next time there. Every dish we ordered was very good, starting with the bread. Always call ahead and make reservations, small place that gets packed quick on most days I’d say from how good the food was. I also enjoyed the music list they had playing.
I’ve heard so many good things about this place, I was happy that there was room for us last minute today. As a professional chef who has worked in the food industry for many years, I was pleased with the menu selection, presentation and balance of flavor. The oysters were great, the flavors in the NY steak and Brussel appetizer were spectacular and I appreciate that they plated our split entree. The flourless chocolate cake was heavenly. I give it four stars as it was cold in the dining room, the plates did not feel heated so the soup and entree quickly cooled off. I was told by the host they were pulled from the oven but I touched the plate immediately by habit when served, as heated plates is a basic when cooking professionally and sadly they were barely warm. The old house charm may contribute to the draftiness so it should be compensated by serving the food HOT. They forgot to leave off the croutons for my friend with a Gluten-free request and as she had to wait for a spoon to take out the croutons, it had more time to cool off. Though the server was kind, he didn’t check back after each course, so we couldn’t ask for a hot one. I will still give it another chance because everything was cooked perfectly, just wished the food were hot.
A hidden gem! Omg everything was so delicious, the bread to start was amazing the fish yes! The crème brûlée served in a little cast iron pot was just to right! And the cheeses omy
Very good farm-to-table dishes are on the menu at this cozy spot, where advance reservations are a must, as there are only 19 seats available. A prix-fixe menu is available for those who want to splurge, but otherwise, you can go ala carte from the regular menu. There are no cocktails or liquor, the wine list is solid, and the craft beer list is comparatively mediocre, especially when the excellent Drowned Lands brewery is just up the road, yet they're somehow not offered. Service is homey but not what you might expect in a high-end restaurant.
Had dinner at a restaurant for the first time out this year, because you know. Best American cuisine I’ve had in a while. If I was to invite people from out of country and show off American cuisine this place will definitely be a hit. Atmosphere is quaint and invites you to have a glass or two with dinner and a conversation. Smoke from chimneys ligers in the air to give it a very country feel. The food is tasty and the portions won’t let you think that you need a second dinner after your dinner. Also I live five minutes from this place and will definitely come back .
Update got takeout from here for my birthday. Yet another perfect celebration dinner. Food was absolutely delicious.
Really fresh and amazing food, farm to table. staff was super nice and they made us feel safe dining in at their restaurant. Reservations are required and so are masks. I can't wait to come here again!
I feel like I'm at home at the Grange. The food is superb. I never know what the daily offering will be but have always been absolutely happy with my selections.
Really great restaurant that sources local foods. Highly recommended. The oysters, duck, and carrot fritters were amazing. Will definitely be coming back. Their strict compliance with covid precautions made me feel extra safe. A wonderful dining experience.
