We had a wonderful brunch here! The food are very delicious! The mussels are just beyond wordsđthey are so delicious! We also really liked the pĂątĂ© - so flavorful by itself or in combination with the bread and the mustard. Tartine and Sea bass are also very good, highly recommended as well. The restaurant has a very cozy, chill while elegant vibe. Would like to visit again for sure!
We went for brunch and overall it was amazing. Great food, great service, and the atmosphere was chill and laid-back for a brunch, exactly what we were looking for.
The french onion soup was perfectly executed, real highlight.
And mussels!! One of the best mussels Iâve ever had. Great-sized mussels and the sauce was really really good.
The escargots were quite salty, though I like the pastry casing on top. Nothing special on the Croque Madame, but well made.
Friendly and attentive service. We were seated right away.
service was a bit slow. it took a while for the servers to finally take our orders and to prepare the food. that being said, the food itself was beautifully presented and flavored. the salmon tartine was quite filling. loved the puff pastry on top of the escargot.
Iâm torn on this review because I love supporting small businesses and restaurants. It wasnât bad at all, but it felt like they were trying to get their feet settled and not ready for customers. Overall we all enjoyed, but we wouldnât go back.
The French onion soup was very sweet vs salty and savory, I didnât like it but my friend did. I did love the cheese, it was cooked to perfection, but he left his. I liked the mushroom tart and he didnât.
I had the burger which was nothing special, the fries were ok. My friend enjoyed her meal, but my other friend could not eat his. He had the mussels and only half or 2/3 were opened. We didnât count because it was a significant amount. The server didnât offer to replace or do a new one, so my friend left hungry. They could at least have asked if anything was wrong, they didnât, even after seeing he barely touched them. My other friend enjoyed her pork chop.
The drinks were ok, but not great. I had two espresso martinis. The first one I couldnât taste the espresso so I told the server. The second one was perfect!!! Exactly what I was hoping for. My friends had two other signature cocktails, the French martini was ok. I canât remember the third ones name, but it was very good.
We wonât be going back, but that doesnât mean you shouldnât give it a try. Everyone had a bad day or a bad night, this was likely an off night for them.
The interior decoration and overall atmosphere in this restaurant was great. Itâs a perfect environment for a date or night out with friends.
The entrees were all reasonably priced and my entire party was more than satisfied with their food. I ordered the pork with potato purée and mushrooms and I was not disappointed. Definitely looking forward to coming back and trying out their other menu items.
The sea bass was delicious (caper sauce suer good) the chicken served with creamy potato on the side, was just ok. The honey gun cocktail yummy and dessert pavlova was great.
I do Not recommend the onion soup, extremely sweet and bland.
Service and atmosphere were good.
Would return.
The ambiance of the restaurant is excellent! Since you step at the front door you feel transported to a european village at a small cottage. So cozy, elegant, comfortable. The food is really food, highly recommend the coc au vin and the mussels (delish!) . And don't skip dessert!
What a very cool and wonderful restaurant as soon as you enter you feel at ease and relaxed. The staff are super nice, the food is out of this world and then the whole place is an experience not to be missed. The menu choices are wonderful, the wine list superb and the service is just great. Do not miss this Georgetown gem when you are in DC.
We were there for a wedding and the menu choices we chose were the escargot duck confit and the cake to finish, outstanding!
Chez Billy Sud has a super vibe! Atmosphere and Ambiance is neat, comfortable and elegant. The outside patio is cute! The whole place appears super clean. Servers are pleasant, communicative, efficient and knowledgeable. And most importantly the food is nicely presented, taste was delicious to a good price point. I can highly recommend the brunch dishes!
Great staff, great food, great service. The menu has been pared down from times past, but it makes senseâfocus on a few things you can execute well instead of a bunch of mediocre dishes. My only criticism is not from the staff but from the table sat next to me⊠entitled knit picker, a male Karen type, who constantly bothered his server (and every other patron) with the most ridiculous criticisms. I donât think he was a Michelin judge, because usually they have a little more tact⊠otherwise a lovely experienceâ10/10 would recommend.
Whether for an anniversary, birthday, or date night, Chez Billy Sud is the perfect place to celebrate. A small French bistro in Georgetown, this restaurant has an intimate atmosphere well reflected in its dishes. Every dish on their menu is a winner and you simply cannot go wrong. The poultry dishes are excellent, and Iâd recommend pairing with a bottle of wine. The sommelier is hilarious and went above and beyond to help us decide on a pairing.
They said it's Michelle Obama's favorite restaurant. I found the mussels was great, bread was amazingly warm and crispy, but I am not a big fan of bread. The menu was simple. The staff was super kind.
Took my parents here for graduation dinner. Arguably one of the best restaurants in all of DC â and definitely #1 in Georgetown.
Everything was so delicious that we had to order a three course meal. Must try: appetizer- Foie de Volaille; main- Confit de Canard (one of the best ever); dessert- can't go wrong with any but we got the Rote au Fromage Basquaise.
Drinks: their espresso martini is the most unique, and of the tastiest, I've ever tried. I believe the secret is the coco liquor they use.
What a fabulous dinner. Service was absolutely wonderful. Maria made our night. Attentive, friendly, and fabulous in every way. The food was superb. We will come back. Highly recommended.
We went for lunch and came out with smiles on our faces. From the perfect onion soup to the light but still tasty duck confit, our entire experience met expectation and then some. We will be back!
Having walked by a number of times without going in, I couldnât be more happy that I finally did. This is a true gem of a place. One of the best meals Iâve enjoyed in DC. Great classic french food, amazing service, and an authentic ambience that fully rounds out the experience.
Steaks frites were superb in every wayâhighly recommend.
I went yesterday night for the first time and it was very nice. I booked a table for 2 people at 9pm. I arrived a little bit early so they proposed me to wait at the wine bar. It was very cosy and classy and the service was top. They also have a good selection of wine. For diner I had the magret de canard. It was delicious. Highly recommended.

Amazing good & service. We ordered the leeks vinaigrette for appetizer and the poulet rĂŽti for main course. For dessert we ordered the tarte au fromage. Everything was absolutely amazing.
