Had a decent meal here, but a few things worth noting.
1. Every now and then I run into a restaurant that brings out all the food with lightning speed. This is one of those places. They brought our ceviche appetizer out within a couple minutes of ordering. Not sure why, but luckily I ordered the app first to avoid too-fast service. You'll definitely want to be a control freak with regard to service here if you don't want to be disappointed.
2. The Octopus also came out very fast, however we waited until we were ready to order it. Still, it came out so fast that the impression was it was meant for another table and given to us. The dish was good but a bit on the chewy side and a little salty. The portion was great.
3. The seafood rice was good but also too salty.
Overall, with some minor service and food improvements, this place could be amazing.
I really like this little nook, located just a short walk from the main Dupont Circle area. I will say its pretty pricey (entrees and appetizers alike start at $20+). The lamb was overly salty, but overall the food was fresh and flavourful. My favourite thing about this place is the ambiance. A friend and I sat out on the patio and they have done a great job decorating the whole place.
My boyfriend and I went here for a date night and to try something new. We both loved it! The ceviche was amazing! For the main dish we split the Lomo Saltado, it was delicious! The dessert was quite tasty as well! Overall, I definitely recommend it!
This is a pretty fun Peruvian place. I tried both of the vegetarian options, the cauliflower dish and the gnocchi, both of which were good. The cauliflower tasted a bit Asian which was surprising but good. The maracuya fizz drink was excellent although very sweet. The pescado was perfect. We didn’t like the corn in the ceviche. The lomo saltado was very rich and delicious. Very good sauce. The portion sizes were small for the price, but we may come back.
The food was great and customer service was great too. Only reason I'm giving 4 starts is because of the lack of service for kids. I didn't know about this and took my nephew (2 years old) and there was no chair for him and also no plates everything is for adults. I would definitely come back but not with a baby/little kid as the restaurant is not prepared for it. We ordered Seco, ceviche, aguadito, mazamorra dearroz blanco, Everything was delicious. We spent around 130 for 2 adults including tips.
Really great! Ceviche was on point. Arroz con mariscos was tasty: has a satisfying, well balanced heat. Beef tenderloin is addictive. I'm ready for more!
Ceviche was tasty, their cocktails were pretty interesting and good but grilled octopus was very salty. But the value of money is really low. The price is high but the portion is kinda small.
This is a gorgeous Peruvian restaurant in DC. Not too busy on a Saturday evening, and the food came promptly. Everything we had was delicious. The desserts were delicate and not overpoweringly sweet, the ceviche was fresh and bright, and the gnocchi sauce was to die for! Highly recommend.
Great atmosphere and delicious appetizers. I got the ceviche classico and the causitas, incredible. The piano sours are good and worth a try. Overall a great place and I’m returning for a meal in the near future.
Absolutely spectacular. Everything was amazing. Fresh, savory, tasteful, beautiful presentations, excellent service. Best Peruvian food I have ever had.
I would give this 4.5 if I could.
The atmosphere walking in was wonderfully classy and still comfortable. We were seated next to beautiful tapestries that gave us privacy without making us feel closed in. The waitstaff was, to a person, warm, polite and friendly. At a restaurant of this caliber one often is greeted by snootiness, but this was not the case here.
I take off points for the Huancaina sauce that tasted more like watered down Aji Amarillo. There was also no rice served with dishes that require rice. To their credit, we requested rice and it was brought immediately. One of my companions had Arroz con Pato and the arroz was a bit bland. That was disappointing.
My Lomo Saltado was amazing and the Aji de Gallina was as good as can be expected with frozen ajies.
All in all, a wonderful experience. I want to go back for a summer lunch and try the cebiche!!
The food was very good. The short rib appetizer it's great. The braised lamb is also delicious. The duck rice dish is hearty & spicy but well seasoned
Pic is of short rib dish
Overall meal & experience was great. I recommend it.
Very nice dinner with my wife and felt authentic Peruvian as compared to meals I have had in Peru. Started with the cebiche which was very good. We split it and you definitely want to get the full-size. Then enjoyed more seafood. Overall both good food and service.
Fantastic food, the menu has many options but I recommend the yuquitas to start and the ceviche mixto as a Main course. If you haven't tried it, the pisco sour is a good drink but if you want to mix it up their passion fruit version. Their tiramisu comes with mango sorbet, tasty.
Really enjoyed the food here. They have amazing Ceviches. We ordered the Mohica Ceviche, and it was yummy. I ordered Chaufa De Mariscos for dinner, which is wok fried rice with seafood, and it was delicious. We were a party of 7, and our waiter was very patient, and extremely professional. He carefully split the checks at the end of our meal. I did not try any of the desserts, but others noted they were really good too. I will definitely plan to be back here again soon.
Excellent pisco sours. We also tried the causa, anticuchos, and ceviche. All delicious and with beautiful presentations.
Restaurant week offerings. Shrimp and lobster causa to start and an upgrade to the cebiche mixto. Can’t forget to try a pisco sour as well!
