We had an incredible dining experience. The food was absolutely delicious. We did the pre-selected four course dining. Everything from the carefully selected snacks down to the dessert were incredible. I truly believe that this restaurant has earned its Michelin star. If you are debating visiting, I would highly recommend it. 10/10 wonderful dining experience!

I went here recently and got the tasting menu. The atmosphere is lovely, reminds me of a beachy theme, and has this ombre blue on the walls. The service was impeccable, every staff member was attentive to our needs and our waiter, Sophia, was polite enough to check with the chef in the back to confirm no items on the menu had an ingredient I'm allergic too. The food was really good but I felt for charging over $100 for the tasting menu it could have been better. I've been to other Michelin starred and Bib Gourmand places in DC and I do feel like the food could be elevated a bit. The crispy salt cod, the cucumber salad, and the sweet corn pasta were the best things I had all night. These were the first three dishes on the menu and oh boy what a fantastic start, that cucumber salad, I was not expecting much as it's a salad but it blew me away. It had an amazing puree on the bottom that I could have eaten on its own. The sweet corn pasta was not the entree portion though I wish it was, I wanted a much bigger portion it was amazing. I could have just eaten that all night. Unfortunately the actual entree menu item, the coffee rubbed strip steak, while still good, was the least tasty item on the menu overall and I was bummed it was the largest portion I had. The dessert was okay I had the berry trifle and it was about average for dessert, nothing too special. I'm usually not a dessert person so that was fine by me, if you're super into desserts I could see it being disappointing. All in all I would return again, maybe not frequently as the price/food are slightly off but I did like that the service was amazing and the staff made my group feel special, and that's always an amazing way to feel. Btw there is a 22% service charge added, which I believe is in lieu of tip, it's on their menu the service charge goes to the non management employees and that any additional tip is distributed amongst a tip pool.

The snacks (crispy potato, pear pate de fruit, and zucchini bread) were delicious and had multiple dimensions of flavor. I highly recommend the crispy salt cod for the table. The yellowfin crudo and seared scallop delightful and light. The coffee rubbed steak was a bit disappointing. I ordered medium rare, and it was overcooked and tough. I really enjoyed the dessert — the berry trifle. While the meal was overall delightful and decent, it is a bit overpriced for the quality of food. The service was decent, however the atmosphere does not feel very upscale.

Great food but giving four stars based on the expectations for being Michelin and for the office. Some of the dishes lacked bold flavors expected based on price (namely squid with sausage). Also, service was great initially but sparse near the end. Lastly, the food took awhile to come out between each course considering we did the tasting menu

Impeccable. Audrey did a fantastic job with the wine pairings, the food was spectacular, and it made for a wonderful date night out. Highly recommend. Pecorino cake was to die for.

Update: another thing I love is that they don’t try to add annoying secret feee to your bill. It’s very clear and honest about what is being added and I so appreciate that. I love this place so much. This is one of my favorite restaurants in the city. The service is exquisite and the food is fabulous. I sat at the bar last night so I could order a La carte and still ended up ordering so many things that we probably should have just done the fixed menu hahaha. I appreciate that they can easily accommodate my pescatarian boyfriend while I eat all the meat. My only complaint is that because I live nearby, I wish I could pop in to sit at the bar instead of having to make a reservation.

This experience was unlike any other. My girlfriend and I came to DC for a two year anniversary and just for a fun trip. Found this place booked a couple days in advanced and they catered to her dietary needs. The whole meal was delicious and being able to choose the different dishes was also great The service and care the waiter and waitresses put into the meal it felt inviting. I will highly recommend going here for a stop when you visit DC. Thank you for the great experience.

Great quality food and exceptional service! My husband booked this restaurant for my birthday and the restaurant made it very special. Started off with a handwritten card and ended with a complimentary dessert. Also, my mom doesn’t eat pork and the restaurant was able to substitute their pork dish with a delicious tuna alternative (appreciated because the last time we had a tasting menu elsewhere, all pork dishes were replaced with vegetarian options which really felt like a lack in effort). All the dishes were delicious, my only complaint is that out of the Michelin starred restaurants we’ve been to, they definitely had smaller portions where I wasn’t that full by the end. Maybe if I had gotten a glass (or two) of alcohol I would’ve been there haha

Tail Up Goat was a really wonderful dining experience. The entire staff was gracious and welcoming throughout our stay. The space is lovely and warmly lit. The food was creatively made, beautifully plated, and featured diverse flavors. Their drinks menu had something for everyone. The atmosphere was bustling without being loud. I hope to make it back here again someday!

Enjoyed dinner at Tail Up Goat, finally, after looking forward to the opportunity for months. The tasting menu sounded amazing, and o wanted it to be...though overall fell a bit short of expectations. The outdoor seating was fabulous, and servicecwas good...if not excellent. Worth the trip

I like this place mostly for their wine list. The sommelier is very good at pairing with the food. The tasting menu is very good but not the best ever. The atmosphere in the restaurant is good, tables are well spaced and I like that the lights aren't super bright. Even sitting at the bar is nice.

We ate there for the first time last night and what a treat. Alexia (I hope I spelled that right!) was our server, and guided us to some perfect picks from the menu. The salt cod fritters are divine, and every dish was delicious, surprising, and fun. Mostly, Alexia felt like a gentle friend guiding you through a fun time, and everyone else that visited the table were great. Beautiful vibes, just a special place. It's pricey, but compared to its peers, it"s a top notch experience. We can't wait to come back!

This is a perfect blend of superbly executed fine dining in an inviting and warm atmosphere. The courses were thoughtful, the pacing was right on time, and the wine pairings were spot on. They are also very accommodating to those with dietary needs. A lovely evening and highly recommended!

Just go. Went during their 7th birthday celebration and indulged in favorites from their first 7 years. Highly recommend the wines. The service is excellent they work together to provide a comfortable, approachable experience beyond really great food. My friend was pescatarian, they were thorough in their explanations and provided a pescatarian specific menu that rivaled my meat speckled menu. Also love their compensation transparency and support for their staff. 11/10.
