Recently dined at Karma with my family and I must say the food was on point. We ordered close to 6-7 different small plate dishes and every dish had its own unique yet tasteful flavors. Chicken Lollipop on the sugar cane stick was definitely a favorite. The ambience even for a lunch setting gives you a warm yet airy feel to the setting. Sitting in any table you will have a wonderful view of the workshop-like kitchen where you can see the chefs working. Last but not the least, the cocktails are one of a kind and definitley worth trying! Needless to say, we had a very pleasant dining experience with attentive and timely service and can’t wait to go back!

What an amazing new find! I've been looking for a place in the city to enjoy a more modern take on Indian cuisine, in a venue that's not overly stuffy. I'd had trouble finding a place, before, but this gets high marks on all counts. The food was interesting, and well-presented (aside from the nuanced flavors and balance of newness with authenticity). Our server was fantastic - informed, responsive and charismatic. The gluten-free dessert options are not to be missed. The restaurant offers sophistication in a way that's not forced, and it's very welcome. I expect to come back for many future meals!

I have spent many months in India and love Indian food. I loved this place! The mushroom biryani was amazing! I've had all kinds but never mushroom. We loved it!!! I ordered a grilled veg platter and expected a traditional veg sizzler. I was surprised to see a very delicately grilled veg selection. They took typical local vegetables, seasoned them in traditional Indian spices and lightly grilled them. What a treat!! Met the owner and manager were very welcoming. Great wine selection too.

Tried Karma last evening and had a great experience. The portions are good, the flavor is great, you can tell they are using fresh ingredients. The price point is two and half to three dollars, but worth the price. The staff is friendly and engaging, as another reviewer says not near your average Indian restaurant.

Karma has the best Indian food in the DC area. I’ve been to many Indian Restaurants and Karma by far is my favorite. The service was outstanding and the food presentation was like none I’ve even seen. I will definitely be going back to try more dishes.

This must be one of the finest Indian restaurants in DC. The presentation was exquisite and innovative, although based on traditional dishes and street food. Everything tasted delicious. Staff are professional, efficient , friendlyand explained the menu. Omg, the amritsari snapper, seekh kebab, and tamarind potato sphere were the best starters. The dal makhani was homestyle with rajma and absolutely tasteful. I personally recommend the chicken chettinad, which was a curry and never had chicken done this well, and with the best laccha paratha so flakey, the entrees were scrumptious For the drinks, the navigator with sparks was interesting.

Karma Modern Indian? It's like uncovering a tasty treasure chest right in the heart of DC! You won't believe the Indian delights you'll find there. The place oozes elegance and sophistication, making it the ultimate playground for special occasions. The menu is like a symphony of Indian classics with a modern twist, and every dish we tried was a mouthwatering masterpiece. I'm totally sold on their "Will of the Wolf" cocktail – it's a mind-blowing flavor fusion. Now, let's talk about service – it's like they've got mind-reading servers. Our server was a menu magician, helping us pick dishes that were pure magic. Not only that, but they treated our little ones like VIPs, even surprising them with special desserts for a birthday bash. But here's the scoop, there are just two teeny drawbacks. The kitchen and bar call it a night at 9:30, so it's like a foodie race to savor everything. And, let's be real, it's not a budget-friendly joint. But, and this is a big but, despite these teensy hiccups, Karma Modern Indian is a must-try. The food and vibes are next-level, and the service is top-shelf. And now, for the fun twist: If you're on the hunt for a dining adventure that's as delectable as it is karma-friendly, Karma Modern Indian is the jackpot. Their food is so good, it's practically sinful. But don't fret, you're granted full absolution for indulging in this flavor fiesta. So, next time you're rolling through DC, lock in a reservation at Karma Modern Indian – trust me, it's a culinary rollercoaster you'll remember!

First mitcheln star restaurant tried. The ambience was great along with the services. We ordered butter chicken, paneer pasanda, naan and two drinks. All dishes were authentic and unique in their own way. The quality and quantity was good. The place has a selective menu though. Overall great experience with everything and also it's a must try place.

The food, the staff all are perfectly great. I really love their lamb chops and the pull apart bread - exquisite in the sense of taste, presentation and the service! The place typically has loads of reservations so book in advance. They also charge 25 dollars per person for reservation so do make the time for reservation :P

This is a great fine dining indian restaurant. Pleasantly surprised with their modern twist of the authentic Indian cuisine. The paneer pasanda, zucchini kofta and dal makhani served here really stood out. They got the spices just right. The lachcha parottas (whole wheat indian flatbread) well complimented the dishes. Michelin worthy indeed.

Hands down one of the best Indian restaurant in DC. This is my 3rd visit and this place never disappoints. Underground parking available just next door which is very convenient. The ambience is top notch and the service is one of the best. This restaurant is everything you expect from a Michelin star restaurant 😋🔥 The food is very delicious and authentic and the desserts menu is unique and amazing. I tried it all and my favorite is rose ice cream and Pistachio Kulfi. I am super impressed with the hospitality and service. Kudos to Team Karma for maintaining high standards in every way. Got a chance to visit Karma Morden restaurant with family and a visiting friend. Delivery of the order is quick and on-time. Very welcoming staff and limited seating capacity. Food is tasty with limited options, however with heavy amount of oil being used in all the dishes and it floats even in Lemon rice.

The best Indian restaurant in Washington DC for sure! The presentation is elegant, Indian cuisine served with a contemporary twist at the same time preserving the authentic core. The butter chicken is the best I have had ever….across the world. Haven’t savoured just the perfect blend of tomato and butter. I would recommend highly and willing to bet on it. Loved it!

My husband and I came to Washington on business for one night. The weather was nasty: cold rain drizzled. We were looking for a restaurant for dinner and saw this restaurant: Karma modem Indian. He immediately attracted us with a stylish design but with elements of Indian culture. Our lunch delighted both the eyes with its presentation and the palate with its taste. We ordered baked vegetables and naan with wild mushrooms and truffle for the appitazer. The food was freshly prepared, hot and very tasty. Then our wonderful waiters brought The palate cleanser. And after a short rest, we started on the main menu: my husband had LAMB ROGANJOSH, I had SAFFRON DUCK with wonderful saffron gravy. The taste and presentation of the food is beyond praise. Service was very attentive but not intrusive. Then the manager came up to us to ask if we were satisfied. Of course, we answered, everything is fine, and I promised to write a great review. Which I do with pleasure.

Excellent food, good ambience and fancy presentation. It felt like French portion size so order accordingly :) it is expensive but the quality is amazing. The complimentary lentil soup is fantastic, we ordered it to go as well. The pesto paneer was amazing as well. The coconut medallion is more like the coconut burfi tasty tasty. We were expecting a “red” raspberry rasmalai but it was just regular rasamalai with 2 raspberries on the side 😀. To summarize excellent food and ambience.

Easily the best Indian fine dine I’ve visited in the US. Everything we ordered was on point. The bell pepper chutney served with the paneer starter, the delicate and flavorful quinoa tikki and the zucchini kofta. They served a small cup of lentil soup as amous bouche. It was very flavorful. They also served us some rose flavored ice as a palate cleanser after appetizers. The first I’ve ever experienced. The only bummer was that we had to order all the food at once.

The starter of lentil soup was warm and comfortable. I personally enjoyed it. The starter of the Grilled vegetable platter was our favorite. Others are good but not beyond my expectations. Scallop was okay (you can skip it).

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Karma Indian Restaurant in Washington DC, and I must say that it was an extraordinary experience from start to finish. As an avid lover of Indian cuisine, I was thrilled to find a place that not only offers authentic Indian flavors but also excels in every aspect of the dining experience. First and foremost, the food at Karma is simply outstanding. From the moment I took my first bite, I could tell that the chefs at Karma take great pride in their craft. The flavors were rich, vibrant, and truly reminiscent of the authentic Indian dishes I have enjoyed in the past. Each dish was expertly spiced, allowing the flavors to harmonize perfectly. Whether it was the fragrant biryanis, the creamy curries, or the tandoori delights, every dish showcased the culinary expertise of the chefs. One aspect that impressed me greatly was the food presentation. Each dish was carefully plated, making it not only a feast for the palate but also a visual delight. The attention to detail and the artistic flair demonstrated in the presentation elevated the overall dining experience. The ambience of Karma Indian Restaurant is simply delightful. The moment I walked in, I was greeted by an inviting and warm atmosphere. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. The soft lighting, comfortable seating, and tasteful decor create a soothing and welcoming environment that is perfect for a relaxed dining experience or a special occasion. The waitstaff was prompt and efficient, and their recommendations were spot on. The staff's courteousness added an extra layer of hospitality that enhanced the overall dining experience. Overall, I loved being at the restaurant. Cheers!
