It's fantastic food here. This cozy Thai spot will wow you with their constantly changing menu. It's Northern Thai so can skew a little spicy, but don't let that deter you - it's definitely worth it. Note they don't take reservations so arrive early to put your name in for a call back later in the evening, it's a set menu (~$55-$65 per person), and do not accommodate food allergies.
I had high expectations ordering from Little Serow, and my expectations were met! Tried a couple items— the wings and dry chicken curry, both had complex flavors and were quite unique! I can’t wait for the restaurant to open up for in-person dining to try out some more cool things.
Arrived at 7pm on a Wednesday and had no trouble getting a seat but the place was packed by 7:45. Each course was awesome - the tofu with peanut and chicken offal were my favorites. They’ll pack up extras and send them home with you so don’t overdo it!

My wife and I celebrated our 5th anniversary by ordering Little Serow to go! It was simply superb; we enjoy all the dishes, the Christmas Ale, and the Riesling. We shared everything and did kind of our tasting menu. It was our first time it was highly recommended, and it didn't disappoint.
A friend recommended this spot to me while we were visiting DC. It's currently doing takeout only, so it was a great stop after a long day of hiking.
The set dinner for two comes with:

My favorite thing (hands down) was the crispy rice salad. I love crispy rice. It has a great texture and the sauce was delicious.
The pork ribs were my second favorite thing. The meat was so tender that it was falling off the bones.
If you're interested in trying some Thai dishes that you won't find at most Thai restaurants in this country, check this spot out.

Little Serow is absolutely worth the wait in line (including on a rainy January night) and lives up to the reputation. My friends and I went on a Saturday - arrived at 4:45 and were promptly seated when they opened at 5:30.
Each course was amazing. There were seven courses, and I enjoyed all of them and loved most of them (one friend out of three didn't like one course, but out of seven, I'll call that a great track record).
The service was also amazing. Our server made great recommendations on wine to three people with distinct tastes, and we all like what we got. Our water was filled every few minutes like clockwork.
Highlights:
- the soup was amazing - the spicy kick and lime flavor are a perfect balance to the coconut
- the ground chicken with lanna spices - another expertly balanced dish that combines spices, heat, lemongrass and ginger to create a dish that is great on its own, wrapped in lemon or with rice.
- crispy tofu - bold flavor and perfect texture.
- ribs - I don't even normally like meat on the bone, but the smokiness is spot on and it's fall off the bone tender.
Wow! The food packs a flavor punch. The night I was there the spiciness increased throughout until the penultimate dish. However, it was so perfect with spice and flavor and temperature that it didn't kill the taste buds. So much so that the last menu dish had flavor and no spice. And the dessert surprise was immaculately rich even though just a single bite... An amuse bouche :)
Probably the best Thai food I’ve ever had. Super rich, tasty and very very spicy. The know what they do and the service was amazing.
A spectacular prix fixe Thai dinner that changes weekly. All the dishes were well balanced and delicious. Go early to beat the line and enjoy!

The restaurant is tucked away in a basement level of a lovely leafy street, atmospheric with dim lighting and quite an industrial minimal feel. I liked the vibe. Staff were super-friendly and knowledgeable about the drinks on offer - occasionally suggesting (or bringing) a suitable match for a dish.
It was a tasting menu format - at $54 for the amount of food I got in an evening slot, that is a steal. It was truly almost enough for 2 people. The initial dish of "nam prik" (spicy paste of green tomato, salt fish and shallots), served with crispy pork skins, boded extremely well for the rest of the meal. I was not disappointed – everything that followed was delicious. The sour fruit salad in particular was exploding with zingy flavours, very authentic.
The tofu dish was really excellent. It's crispy on the outside with plenty of flavour and a soft texture inside. Alchemy at work.
The only dish that I didn't like was the "phat neua" - beef with asparagus. It was overly sweet and heavy at a point in the menu where you need some relief before the last sticky wonderfulness of pork ribs. To be honest, I could have done without that dish entirely and still felt I'd had more than enough value.
It's really a great place to spend an evening. I ended up having a great chat with my neighbour on the long table - the food is so good that you can strike up conversations to discuss it.
I would go back in a heartbeat, and would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Little Sorrow is amazing. You have to like spicy food though. It's Thai cuisine. The chef makes 1 menu a week, you eat what he makes, no substitutions, no changes and no reservations. Menu posted online Evert week. First come, first served. $49 person for 7 courses. The food was so good, the service was amazing. We got there just in time, because after we arrived, there was a wait at the door of over an hour. Everyone waited. It was well worth the weight as I am sure they found out.
What a gem of a place! The basement location kind of makes it feel like a speakeasy, which was super cool.
The food is everything you'd expect from authentic Thai: sweet salty, crunchy, funky, tangy, spicy, all at once. They keep the fresh veggies and sticky rice coming, and bring out dish after dish of amazing entrees.
Best to get there at 5:00 or so because a line forms before the restaurant opens.
I don't have words to describe how wonderful the food and the experience were here. Try it!
It’s a unique restaurant. You have to wait in line to get seated, and come early cause the line gets long. The menu changes every week. There are not many vegetarian options. I personally thought the food was okay but the ambiance was cool. And the menu changes so often we might have come during a bad week.
Highly recommend you check this place out if you like Thai food. We went early when it opened and walked straight in since most people were putting their name in for a larger group at a later time. In addition to some top notch northern Thai fair they’ve got a great wine list. The move is to grab a Riesling to balance the spice.
One of the very best Thai meals I’ve had anywhere anytime. Great concept and execution. High praise for the food and the beverage. When I went, it was a seafood menu and it was awesome.
