Excellent throwback steakhouse. Yes, you need to wear a jacket there...which maybe you should do more often at nice restaurants anyway. (📷: Veal rib chop)

This place is amazing! This was the first time my wife and I have went here. It was truly a memorable fine dining experience, for our anniversary. The ambiance of the restaurant was classy and comfortable. Plus the touch of having a piano and piano player, playing music throughout the evening was nice. Our server, Roberto, was excellent! Then there is the food; amazing! Literally, every item we ordered was prepared perfectly, and they had a nice wine menu. To top things off they have us an delicious creme brulee to share for our anniversary. We both agree that it was a great experience and we will definitely return.

Fantastic place for seafood and steaks! Roberto was excellent, and all the food was very fresh. Coupled with live jazz and classic ambience makes for a 5 star experience!

Very nice restaurant with and old school feel. Men are expected to wear a sport coat so plan ahead but know that they offer some at the coat check if you do not have one to wear. The food was very good but I’ve had better steaks at other restaurants who don’t have the reputation this place has. The sides and desserts were thoroughly enjoyed though and the piano playing set the mood for a romantic dinner. Service at our table was not as good as the neighboring tables, which was disappointing. Seems as if our server was not as interested in providing us with exceptional service as he was with some regulars nearby. Not sure if we’d return but overall the experience was good.

When we arrived Larry greeted us with the knowledge of who we were and the reservation we requested. A true professional. He then escorted us to our table. Based on my reservations notes he saved this table for us all night. It was exactly what my wife and I were looking for. Then we were treated to an amazing dining experience. Everyone was extremely professional and kind. We started with a single appetizer, the crab cake. It was just enough for a starter. I was instructed to have the prime rib no matter what. And That is what I did. It was delicious. I paired it with Caymus and it was perfect. The piano player added a special touch. He did a perfect rendition on the Sting. We had a great time at a classic American restaurant.

The only restaurant I go to for roast prime rib whenever I am craving for it, always cook to perfection. Lovely ambiance with live Jazz music on the weekends and excellent service as always!

A perfect venue for that special occasion. Larry offered a warm welcome and superb service. The prime rib was a superb choice, and the other steak cuts looked excellent also. I 100% recommend this high class restaurant.

Special occasion destination restaurant fires on almost every cylinder. The only letdown was that our meal was good but not "must return" memorable. Here's the deal, I don't eat prime rib (PR) very often but when I do I remember it. I've visited a famous San Francisco PR restaurant over 30 times over 40 years because the PR is usually spectacular. The PR here is good, but mine was a bit dry. And that just does not cut it for the sky high prices here. The appetizers and salads were all good, and the desserts were fine. The dining room is classically beautiful, and the service was top notch as expected. But again, the food was good but not at those prices. I would not return to the Prime Rib

The Prime Rib has been a favorite DC restaurant of ours since first going well over 10 years ago. In all that time the Prime Rib has never disappointed. From the same cooked to perfection steak offerings, excellent ambience, and impecable service; the Prime Rib is truly a DC gem. Going here is a time capsule where people still dress up to dine, conversations are done in normal voices, and customers are treated to live piano music at just the right volume. We look forward to dining at the Prime Rib for many years to come. Chapeau!

A must visit in D.C. The ambiance is amazing, the service is top notch, the drinks are wonderful, and the food is excellent! You can't go wrong. This has to be one of the best restaurants in D.C. I enjoyed everything, even down to the pianist that entertained us during our dining experience. This is a treat yourself to do!!!

Pretty good steak. Not the best but solid. Had the 21 ounce rib eye with imperial crab and broccoli with a bottle of Justin. Justin is highly recommended. They were all pretty good. Moved to the bar to be closer to the pianist. Late Bday outing with friend.
