Rated the best burger in DC 7 years in a row. I hands down agree. You have a chili ice of medium rare or well. I love the owners passion for take it in its best form. No substitutions. Also get the elotes. Intense amount of flavors before that headline burger
I was told this place has the best burger it town... i dont know about their "proper burger", but the brisket sandwich is from another world! On top of their great food, their drinks are great too and the whole place has a cool character.
Cameron did a great job taking care of us.
Absolutely excellent place for dinner in DC!
Loved the atmosphere, as someone with East London roots, this place was like a home away from home.
Arthur our server was a delight throughout, he made us feel like we were always welcomed & nothing was too much trouble.
The Turkey Burger with runny egg was just what I needed 🍔.
If I'm ever in DC again in future, I will be back to Duke's no question about it 🙌🏻.
OK, I haven’t been to DC in ages. A friend recommended that my colleagues and I try Dukes Grocery. It was not a mistake. while the restaurant was fully committed for the evening, we were able to find a seat at the bar. The atmosphere is very relaxed, and a place where you do not have to dress up. We did not have reservations and came in about 8 o’clock at night. The bartender was very friendly and helpful. He gave great suggestions and made us feel like we were regulars, even though we came from all over the place. I had the cheeseburger, we split the elote and enjoyed every last bite. Some of the regulars that were there at the bar with us, we’re more than happy to offer their opinions and suggestions as well. It was a very fun night and the next time I am back in DC I will be sure to check out Duke’s, again.
We came here for HH one day randomly and sat outside. They were giving out gin that night so we had G&T all night! The pesto hummus is so so good and I had the impossible burger and it was delicious. FYI - The burgers do not come with fries. The service was attentive and the servers were very friendly. I would highly recommend coming here for HH or a quick bite. The inside bar is more of a dive bar feel.
Cute spot for brunch, been here a couple times and have tried a few different things, but their burgers are definitely the highlight of the menu. I wasn’t a fan of the shakshouka, it was way too liquid-y for my liking. Can’t go wrong with the burger though!
OMG. I loved my burger. I’ve got he proper burger and it was probably one of the best burgers that I have ever had. It had pickled onions and pickles and Gouda cheese on it. Just delicious. The service was amazing. We had a super nice waitress/bartender. The drink was delicious. I can only recommend visiting Dukes grocery. It has charm and amazing food.
Quite possibly one of the most delicious burgers in all of DC. So tasty… but there’s other wonderful selections too. Great outdoor seating with a cool city vibe. Friendly service and a nice beer selection all add up to make this a definite dinner selection in Logan Circle in DC. Make sure you go online and make a reservation because we didn’t wait at all. Easy and well worth the trip.
Excellent drinks, sandwiches, and burger. The craft cocktail menu is also long and creative. The food menu is limited to appetizers, sandwiches, and a burger (which was very good). However, each sandwich is creative and prepared very well—good portions too. My breaded-chicken cubano was delicious.
We also ordered the mac&cheese which I recommend highly. Comes in a cast iron with a very nice crust. Also nice hint of truffle.
Only complaint is a lack of fries on the menu. Seems strange and lacking from a place that does sandwiches and a burger.
Yummy food, you can taste the quality of the ingredients. All the dishes look very appealing to the eye. They have absolutely amazing Mac and Cheese. I've gotten their burgers a couple time which always impress. Cute atmosphere, rustic, and very chill. Nice spot for a first date, slightly above casual but not too much where you can't come in normal wear.
I would sit inside; The interior is well designed and gives off great atmosphere. Outside they offer tents or seats. The tents in humid DC weather will most of the time not be comfortable.
