Absolutely delicious meal and fantastic service! The sommelier overheard my girlfriend talking about it being my birthday and brought us two glasses of their Cava Brut to start off the evening. She was very helpful selecting a bottle of wine to our taste preferences and price point. Our server was very knowledgeable of the menu and made some great recommendations (we tried all she recommended). All of the food was delicious and this is one of the best meals we've had! Icing on the cake was the churros for dessert which were the most delicious churros I've ever had! We cannot wait to come back. Thanks to everyone at Del Mar for a great birthday dinner!

Fabio has put his deft touch to upgrade Spanish cuisine. From the simple Pan con tomate to his version of surf and turf ( Iberico steak with Langostines ) with some mid courses like Txaguro ( peppers stuffed with crab meat ) octopus with Potatoes and Squid. Each dish was a preparation for the next serving of Ambrosia. Coupled with perfect service and a very well selected wine list you could very well refuse to leave.

Without doubt the best food and service we’ve had in a long time. We went for restaurant week and will definitely be going back for regular service. The branzino was to die for and the service was stellar.

Had a great time. Party of nine and they gave us our own private room. The sangria was perfect - poured over frozen fruit at the table. My friend and I split the seafood paella and had to take some home. Expect to be there for awhile as they are busy and therefore, lulls between courses. We didn’t mind as we were all chatting!

We were reminded of Barcelona as we smelled the food walking to our table. Then we were overwhelmed with excellent friendly service, fabulous seafood and a fruity (think aloha) sangria in a beautiful elegant setting. The Paella de Pescado y Mariscos is pure joy!

Congratulations you have a very beautiful Restaurant.. The tapas were delicious I have been many times to Spain so the food here was better than many places I have been ... please continue the good cooking I am also a chef and I value great cuisine..the pan con tomate was super also the gambas al ajillo and the croketas ..the prices are good for that location .. best Regards .. it will probably help for servers to explain to the guests what tapas are you will have a lot guest thinking that they are getting appetizers and not tapas . !

The staff is delightful. The food is beautiful and delicious. The textures of dishes like the uni flan, dessert flan, and chocolate are extraordinary. The flavors were beautifully balanced. The only flaws were that the duck was a bit tough and the hard surfaces make the restaurant noisy.

Simply fantastic in every way, from the welcome when we arrived right through incredible cocktails, a fabulous meal, and a delicious bottle of wine. The service was top-notch all along the way. Flavors that evoked wonderful memories of Spain. Whoever picked the lineup down at the wharf knew what s/he was doing.

This was our second dining experience at Del Mar de Fabio Trabocchi and I must say it is our new "go to" restaurant. The food is so thoughtful and perfectly executed with no frivolous components. Simplicity is evident yet deep, rich, and complex flavors abound. And I've never experience more caring, attentive, yet unobtrusive service. Plus, the decor is so sophisticated yet comfortable. Del Mar is dining excellence personified and true gem in the DC restaurant crown.

This is located in Wharf. Nice, cute place. The food is amazing, very tasty. Service is good. The food quantity is less and they are definitely a upscale restaurant. They are expensive. Overall a great experience, it’s definitely a must try. The problem is only the parking.

Lively atmosphere. It’s a little loud inside due to the music. So, if you want to have a proper conversation with your friends/family/coworkers I recommend dining upstairs or outside. The bartender (the man in black, not wearing a floral vest) was delightful. I had tapas, drinks, and dessert at the bar, and everything was amazing (I had the sangria and bf had the gin and tonic). Everyone who worked there was attentive and kind, even the ones not serving me drinks and food. Highly recommend on a Friday or Saturday with friends. Just be sure you make a reservation if you want to have a seated meal.

Lovely and quick lunch! Service was great per usual and the appetizer was delicious. Main course was hearty and flavorful but the dessert was a letdown. It was up and up until the last course. Ended with a flat note rather than a high one! Took a while for the coffee to come- had to remind the staff of the coffee and waited a while for dessert silverware. And flan is over powered by other offerings, cake bites, cherries, etc etc… flan should’ve been the star of the dessert not just a guest appearance.

Amazing dinner. The tapas was the best option for variety and overall culinary satisfaction. I loved the octopus and sardines. The oysters were presented really nicely with a dropper for the vinaigrette. 10/10 would go again!

Best Spanish restaurant I've been to in DC. Each plate was so flavorful. The paella was extremely well done, I only wish it developed a crunchy socarrat at the bottom. The restaurant itself has a very grand feel, and the seating next to the window gives you beautiful views of the boardwalk and wharf. Really pricey restaurant, especially if you want to order a lot of tapas and try everything out, but it's well worth the price.

Food is delicious. Atmosphere is amazing, inside and outside. Erik, one of the managers, is so nice, welcoming, and taking a good care of customers with his smile. We wanted a cocktail and he magically got it for us :) There is only one little thing which is not a big issue, but I call it out, our server was good but he was late or forgot to answer to any of our requests like a sauce, straw, or even bringing a silverware, he might be tired. But generally all staff were great.

I recently visited this restaurant. The service from our waiter Zac was excellent . Also, the manager Mr. Benjamin came over and spoke to us to see how our night was going . We ordered the stuffed peppers , Spanish turbot , and the flan for dessert. I highly recommend this restaurant for its inviting ambiance , delicious food , and exceptional service

We had reservations for our 15th anniversary at Del Mar for Tuesday the 8th. We arrived about 30 min earlier, enter and grabbed a seat at that bar. We had 2 smoked old fashions. Amazing and very refreshing. Highly recommended. We had 1 appetizer tuna carpaccio. This was unbelievable!!! What a delicious way they prepare that tuna. Melts in your mouth . The flavors is something you have to experience. We had our table right at 5pm. We started with the east and west coast oysters to start. For main course, I had had the lamb chops .presentation and done just how I like it. Wife had the Branzino dish. Fish was very buttery, delicious. The waitress Ciera was very friendly , attentive and very knowledgeable on the dishes from the menu. The manager checked on us twice , even brought over after dinner drinks. Desert was something very special they did for us. On desert , the plain churros are the best. Check out the pictures below. This place is amazing !!! If you are in the mood for Spaniard style cuisine, this is the place. What a beautiful restaurant, friendly staff and delicious authentic Spaniard food.

Amazing food! Was here for work and decided to sample some of the fine Spanish cuisine. We had paella, oysters, potatoes, jamon croquetas, and it was all lovely. Yes the prices are higher than most restaurants but I believe it was well worth it in this case. The only thing that was legit expensive was the paella, and the portion was large for the 2 person size.

What an experience!!! We had Henry as our waiter, he was phenomenal and very helpful with recommendations. Benjamin was also very kind to make us comfortable and check in on us during our meal. I ordered a summer Spanish gin cocktail which had cucumber and frozen watermelon cubs as a garnish, which was refreshing. As an appetiser we had the Sabrosas (I don’t remember the name exactly) and it was a performance with the waiter firing the spoon before taking a spoonful of the meat as shown in the video. I ordered the calamari’s and batatas bravas. But my parents ordered the scallops and filet steak, and they both melt in your mouth! My god they were delicious. And surprisingly the portions of food were much bigger than I expected. For dessert, we got the chocolate bites which were crunchy on the outside and soft and creamy on the inside. We also got the churros with there own house made ice cream flavour with chicha and had cinnamon flavour as well. My god the two put together, spectacular. Service, has set expectations to a whole other level. Never had such a great experience and will remember this one. Thank you Del Mar!

We stopped for a drink and ended up ordering some tapas. The Sangria Roja was pretty good. Not too sweet or not too sour. We had to try the sobrasada, wasn't sure what to expect. It’s a distinctive, paprika-spiked, raw, cured sausage that’s eaten like paté. It looks like sausage/ground chorizo but has a softer texture. Very rich flavor. Very salty. We also tried the chorizo iberico which was great but the sobrasada would've suffice. Beautiful restaurant with a very elegant atmosphere.

The dishes we ordered were cooked to perfection, not over cooked and very well seasoned. The service was slower than would have liked but the food was well worth the wait when it arrived. However for the price point was expecting a little bit more than was offered.

When you're invited to dine at Del Mar, make sure to dress elegant and come with an open mind and a hearty appetite. This restaurant is known for its exquisite dining experience, and it's worth embracing the opportunity. From the moment you walk in, you'll be captivated by the lively atmosphere and the professional service. The staff is knowledgeable about the menu and will offer excellent recommendations. The romantic setting of Del Mar, nestled on the waterfront, adds to the overall charm of the place. While the food is undeniably delicious, it's important to note that dining here comes with a higher price tag. However, despite being somewhat costly, it's still worth it for the experience alone. I had an amazing dinner at Del Mar, especially enjoying their tapas selection. The variety of flavors offered a truly satisfying culinary experience. Among my favorites were the octopus and mushroom medley dishes. The presentation was unique and added an extra touch. All in all, I would highly recommend visiting Del Mar. The food is delicious, whether you choose tapas or any other option from their menu. The ambiance both inside and outside is fantastic, creating a memorable dining experience. The staff also deserves commendation for their exceptional service. Don't miss out on this opportunity – make a reservation today!
